Are You Comfirtable In Reading On Computer Screen Or Prefer Print Outs

With great prictice I have made myself quite comfirtable in reading books on computer screen. But I know some time back, it was highly irritating for me to make long readings on computer screen, so I used to take print outs and reads. Those printouts were quite comfirtale. I can take a few pages anywhere with me, read them in any position and reading them was good for eyes also them computer. Also I get develop head ache while reading on computers. What about you. What do you prefer.

I know it sounds stupid but I don't seem to see errors on the screen, when I write letters I check the screen but it is not until I print it out I see the errors immediately...silly isn't it. [lilaclady]

In the first hours of my computing there is no problem about reading long texts from my computer. However if you do that for too long and especially if you are using a CRT monitor then your eyes will tire quickly and that also causes headache time to time. In those cases I feel very hard for myself. I feel dizzy whole day and I feel the need of closing and resting my eyes. So, printing out long texts before reading is really important for your eyes. If you don't know the principle of CRT monitors then you might feel shocked when you learn how our eyes stand againist it. It is sending electrons whole day into our eyes and this is the way we are seeing from a crt monitor. If you are using a LCD one then there won't be so much problem. It will be easier to read from your computer if you are using LCD. but still, printing out is the most practical. You don't have to keep your pc running if you have a print out of the document. In addition, you can read anywhere. You won't have to be in front of computer but you can read while you are travelling, or while doing some other things. Buying a laptop is also a practical way but still not as good as a printout. because I wouldn't like to risk my laptop while reading something on it when travelling. [the_ruler]
yes,it will be convenience use print out of the document.but i still use computer to read, because i try my best to protect my eyes. [fwangaa]

I much prefer printouts. My eyes get kind of blurry when I'm trying to read from the computer screen. Also, I like to flip back through pages here and there if I missed something. I'm taking a college course online right now and the book is an ebook. I've had to print it out just so I can study! [miller23231]

hehe,I prefer print outs.... It is very difficult for me to put myself into the content while reading on the computer screen, and just as you,I get a headache too while reading on computers [rinaisyu]

It really depends what I'm reading. When a well known book was leaked onto the net a few days before it's worldwide release, I started reading it online - chapters and chapters of it. My eyes were getting tired and my neck was getting sore but I was really engrossed, reading for several hours straight. I bought the book on the day of it's release and preferred reading from an actual book, especially as I could sit out in the sunshine in a comfortable chair. The internet is wonderful but I still really like books. [Piscesmoon]

I don't mind reading emails or newspaper articles on the computer screen, but there's nothing nicer than holding a lovely book in your hands as you're snuggled up in bed. I don't think I could read a whole book on the computer screen, and I don't think a printout would give me the same satisfaction. My computer chair gives me a sore bottom after too long, too! [guybrush]

Reading on a computer screen doesn't bother me in the least; I probably got used to it with years of playing MUDs and text adventures on it, where there's nothing but text as part of the game. I've read whole books on the desktop and Laptop, old scanned comic books, you name it. Also fond of downloading books to the PDA and reading those there. [Wolfechu]

I don't mind reading on a computer screen. If I am going to be reading something long then I would rather have it in print form that way I don't lose my place everytime I get interrupted. Then I also don't have to worry about one of my kiddos messing with the computer and making what I am reading go away. [fatragu]

i like reading books on computer but i prefer to read printout being health conscious [sanjayhm]

Print outs. Frankly, my computer isn't set up for reading for any length of time. Maybe if I had something like Kindle or a palmtop it would be different, but as is the screen is just positioned wrong. I'll even have pdfs printed out and bound. [egdcltd]

Dear friend,I do prefer to read on computer those I do not read often. In case if anything that I need most of time to refer or read many times I would prefer to take a print. I do also find difficult to read letters in computer and in printed form I could find the mistakes better than the computer letters. I also mostly use prints if that matter is wanted most often. Mostly mails I read in computer if necessary for more time to read I would take prints.happy [SHAMRACK]

There are times when the screen does bother my eyes and I have to have my glasses on to sit back and focus to read what is on the screen. I don't print out that much. I rather read on the screen; unless it's something that is really important that i need printed out. I don't get headache and I try not to sit to close to the screen. I have to catch myself when I do that though. But I perfer reading on the screen. [twallace]

i got a tablet pc so it's pretty easy to read from it, i can take it everywhere with me. (at best i can read on battery for 8 houres without stopping to plug it in) it's a easy readable lcd screen and i can write on it so when i need to take a note i can just do it on my screen. It's actually been the purpose for me to buy a tablet pc, so i could just read my books on my pc and take my notes on my pc and make schemes and drawings on my pc. and basicly do everything bureautic on my pc. :) I got lots of ebooks offcourse :) and backups from all my documents and stuff also. Wouldn't want to loose it. [kameleen]

Readin a small paragraph or somethin of the sort is loke not that big a prob..Thats wat i think But wen it comes to Large Large stuff..It becomes quite hectic wit all tat glare I'd prefer a print out in such a case [doctorgenius]

well I personally don't like to read too long on computer screen, coz my eyes can't take it. I prefer print out. And best if I have a cup of hot coffee along with the reading stuff ^_^ [xsquid]

well i am not at all comfortable with the on screen reading. i like it to be in my hand when i read it and also i feel comfortable it that way. i can sit as ease adn then read what i want. when it is in front of the computer i feel a bit cramped. long text are not easy to read. small articles are sometimes ok. [amitavroy]

I used to be that same way and print everything out and then read it. Although now I've gotten used to it and I'm better and conserving paper and just reading it on the computer screen. :) ----------- Sierra $100-$3500 cash packages delivered to your doorstep daily. www.cashgiftingdoneeasy.com [cashgiftingdoneeasy]

I used to like it on paper I guess out of habit. I now don't mind doing my stuff online. Plus this helps save alot of paper if your just going to use it and throw it away. I suggest reading and doing as much online to save the environment. [baileycows]

I prefer to print the text especially if the computer screen isn't suitable. After a short time, the eyes begin to tire. [trinitymay]

I probably read from my computer screen too much, at the expense of my eyes. I feel comfortable reading on a screen. I haven't tried reading a book on the computer or anything like that though. [eXxodus]

I prefer to read in print-outs if the documents or texts are really quite long. Saves on electricity. But reading on a screen isn't that bad for me, as long as the monitor is good. Im using a flat monitor so the radiation generated is only low. [muxicka]

As a translator, editor and proofreader, I got so used to reading long stuffs on the computer screen but there are times that doing such can be absolutely tiring. Reading directly on the computer screen tends to make us suffer from headaches, as you've mentioned, and backaches. Yes, working for long hours in front of the computer gives me terrible headaches and backaches from time to time. Naturally, it can affect the progress as well as the quality of my work -- which I can't afford most especially when trying to beat a deadline. Thus, at times, I'd rather indulge myself the liberty of printing out even hundred-page documents so that I can work more comfortably. It then allows me to work right on my bed, lying on my back or lying with my face down; sprawling on the hammock under the tree in the garden, or anywhere else that pleases me. Nowadays, I prefer working on printouts when doing editing or proofreading. I just manually put annotations on the documents and later on, apply them on the on-screen document so work becomes a lot faster and easier. It's a good thing that I no longer have to spend so much on inks as I have already installed continuous ink system to my printer. Otherwise, it will surely be too much of a burden considering the high costs of ink cartridges in the market. :-) [oo0kulasa0oo]

Reading a physical book and an eBook, there have some differences, not only comfortability but also some money. A physical(prited) book is not available for free (I didn't found any piece anywhere, do you?). But lots of ebooks are freely available online on almost every subject on the earth. Of course we can read the printed books laying on bed or elsewhere with great relax. But when you hear that any person reading the same book on computer free of cost, I think you cann't concentrate on the book which you have bought with your hard earned money. [satdin]

I personally could stay on the computer all day, everyday. I have, on several occasion, told friends, family, and even teachers that I would much rather read on the computer as opposed to grabbing a book. I could not for the life of me give you a reason as to why that is. I guess I'm just a little weird :-P [kaytee09]

I would prefer reading print-outs rather than reading through the computer. It is more comfortable than staying in one position, sitting. Plus, no headaches will occur when your using print-outs even if your reading if for hours. [steivene2hot]

It all depends with me. If the document is important enough to read a second time, if it is long, and if I have enough ink and paper, I will print it out, relax, and take my time reading it. If it is just a quick thing, I will read it online. [Rozie37]

I am on the computer many hours a day, and so I come across a lot of reading material from websites, advertisements, e-books, emails, links in emails pointing me to more adverts and reading materials, etc. And I have downloaded quite a lot of e-books too, especially those that are free or can be purchased cheaply. I try and read most of these online. I really can't bother to print them out, because they will waste my paper and ink. It is only the good stuff that probably run into 60 or 80 pages that I will consider printing out to read, because I don't want to spend too much time focusing on one single document on the screen when I have so many other screens of information to look at. [lexus54]

I hate reading longer stuff like ebooks on the computer screen. I prefer to read printouts if I can, but printer ink can be expensive, and I'm cheap. So I usually just read stuff on the screen. I do sometimes print stuff out though, to read later if I know I'll be away from the computer for a while. [karathrace]

I like audiobible.com. I can hear it while I read. This helps me retain it better. I wish there were other books that I could do the same. As far as just reading, I rather read on the computer. With me having narcolepsy, it helps me to stay awake. [kittenmc]

I prefer to print out my pages due to my eyesight and migraines. Also, I tend to lose focus and get distracted when I reading online. [queenofcaffeine]

i like to write on computer, but i don't like to read on computer. [helen_xue]

I used to prefer printouts in the past. When I first started using a computer, I was so used to reading things on a printed page, I printed everything out. But, I've gotten used to reading on the screen and now I'm pretty comfortable with reading right on the screen, even if it's rather long. I will print something out if I want to read "on the go." [reg415]

I prefer to read books normally, but if the book is an ebook, I will read it on the screen. I do not like the idea of printing it out because I have a printer where the cartridge is very small, and if I do print out the book, I would prefer that it is bound like a regular book and I do not have a binding machine. If it is an instructional book, I will print them out and put them in a binder. But if it is a fiction book, I prefer to get it at a bookstore. [suspenseful]

yes i really love to surf in internet and wacthing movies in internet my hobbies is my computer and im very comfortable of that? [ken18neth]

I prefer to read a book or papers off the screen. I find that my eyes get more tired when i try to read on the computer...and that my attention wanders faster. A book I can take and curl up on hammock or read in a car and they are so much more convenient to read. [saundyl]

Don't like online reading and won't print out...I rather it bonded together in book form because I am a voracious reader and I also read fast. A simple journey of 1 hour cna see me half way throuh a book if I have no interuptions. [gtdonna]

I prefer reading books on print than on computer screen because like you I prefer to take my books anywhere and read in different positions which I cannot do with computers. Also my eyes gets tired easily if I stare too much on the computer screen. [xushanna]

I got to use reading in the computer screen.Sometimes my headaches and i would just stop and rest. [msedge]

Reading on the computer is such a godsend to me, because I have been disabled for 4.5 years and the hands don't hold a book or turn a page so well anymore. [fec139]

well, if the book is interesting to me i would prefer to reading the print-outs. otherwise, would rather on computer screen. for an interesting one, i would like to read it slowly and enjoy every part, or even read it for a few times. and also i would keep the interesting book forever by myself. [qhwater]

i prefer print outs to read rather than computers.because long time using computers may be harmful to our eyes and it may lesd to many diseases.there is no portability in using computers.using printouts we can easily carry out to where ever we want and have work completed [bharatsrinivas]

hi ajayrekha! happy i'm okay with reading e-books in the computer. i actually read some of Dan Brown's novels in e-book form. but i didn't have enough time to stay on the computer to read e-books. i had to print some of my e-books so i can read them anywhere without staying in front of the computer. i actually printed some of my Harry Potter e-books. and it definitely took a lot of bond papers even if i printed on both sides and made the font smaller. lol i am not reading any e-books right now because whenever i sit in front of the computer, i just surf the net. i just buy second hand books now so i can still continue my reading hobby. happy [secretbear]
