I do it myself, becuse i am a networking Engineer. [sreejithsreenivas]

I've done that many times, everything from replacing a broken HDD to open it up aand put cables back in. [Lunerian]

Always...build them, repair them, upgrade them...but then as I own an IT company be a bit daft calling somebody else out! ;-) [scarydog]

i have repaired many times.i can do myself because i am a computer spacialist.. [m_yilmaz001]

I do not have my own computer..hehe I am just using the computer in my work place. It's my boss son who fix it if there is a problem. [mindz_me]

i have done it many times for replacing Ram and cleaining the prossercer. [visu1009]

oh... a loooooooot of times..I am no computer specialist..but i adore them.. from my experience i can tell you that if you have a problem with your SMPS, its damn hard to debug to that... RAM and processor cooling is one another twisted problem.. The usual suspects are the HDD power and IDE cable connections. The rest are all in the software... If you don't like playing 3D computer games (pity you), you are much better off with Linux... Most of the computer components now have developed into much advance cases where there is a very little room for error... so tear up the cabinet and jump in to explore.. :) [vignyan]

Have had problems when we had people pc and we had just gotten into computers. I had the good thought to get the warranty when I bought my Dell so I ended up having to call them and they walked me through getting it back to about as when it came out of the box. That was fine and we have not had problems since then with the Dell computer they build for me. I will be buying Dell again! [Willowlady]

Every time when my computer gets problem I sloved on my own. [passion_passion77]

Yes I did it many times Infact I am perfectionist in it [simran2095]

I've done it all the time, replacing cd-roms, graphic cards, cpu, hard drives, modems and the whole shaBANG! :P Fun stuff, just don't break anything on accident. [Kicker55]

Yeah! I solve every computer problem all by myself. Also for others too. I get calls from frens every now and then with their computer problems and I gladly help them out...:-) [nihalnihal]

I tried to fix my cd-rom. I attempted to put a new one in. I had the computer back open, could see everything. I took the old cd-rom out but couldn't get the new one in. I ended up paying for a guy to put it in for me. I don't think I'll try to fix again. [the_dreamer2005]

Most times I'm able to fix it on my own or replacing the defected part, some friends ask me for help but me too can call a friend and ask for things that I'm not sure about .. never too proud to learn new things and tricks :) [freesoul]
I try to fix my pc.Some times when i am unable to repair my pc i call for help to my friends or take it to computer tecknetion. [sahyd2don]

i know my way around computers, so if my computer ever needs repair, i can do it myself. but that does'nt mean i can repair monitors or try to solder motherboards and cards (i tried, and believe me, it was hard) i can do troubleshooting like errors on hard disks, memory and os and software errors. [vbcoder]

Yes I fixed a lot of things on the computers I owned all these long years. Many things to list here, most of them minor nuisances, both hardware and software. Saved me a lot of money. [jricbt]

no dude i never open my pc to repair [firasat007]

I've changed memory & DVD-RW by myself. [ivan555]

Yes, since I'm a computer engineer so I have the knowldege whenit comes to repairing PC. Though sometimes I still have to consult books & internet for help. [clod0327]

When I still had my pentium 1. I do all the repairs all by myself. It was easy then. I even upgraded my pentium 100mh to 199mh, all by myself. But the computer I'm using right now is already different, it's pentium 4, so I would'nt dare touch it. So far the stores from which we buy our upgrade parts where the ones who just sends people to attach it inside our computer. [lowey01]
Once you know the basics, its all the same pal! I am sure you will get used to it, correct practice makes perfect. I even troubleshoot rack mount servers. They all use the same off-the-shelf components. :) [ryanrudolf]

Yes I do. At first I always call a repairman for help. I got fed up because it only takes him a few minutes and he charges so high. What I did is I tried to learn how things work in the computer. I pursued a degree in computer studies, and before I knew it I am fixing not only my own computer, but friends and relatives as well. The experience is really rewarding. I used to have a book called Upgrading and Repairing PCs. I might say that is my Bible when it comes to computers. How about you? [ryanrudolf]

I always repainr my own computer. I have never userd a tech support. Internet is a vast ocean of info for any problem that plagues ur machine. just google ur problem and u will find the solution. I have recovered from many dedly virus attacks and replaced faulty hardware components my self. the list is too long to mention here. Also i dont remember most of the problesm right now. i just know hoew to solve if one occurs. :) [smrohitsm]

Just about every problem that I have had ever had. If there is ever a problem I cannot fix, I go to message boards and post there, that really helps. I fix my computer and friends. One of my friends problems was that he installed a hard drive but the motherboard wasn't recognizing it. I thought the power wasn't hooked up correctly through the power supply, so I spent 15 minutes connecting and reconnecting. I realized the IDE cable was on the wrong way. [Spark_Plug]

i seek some guidance from my father, because he is a system technical engineer. [franklin88]

i repair my windows and if i get any other eroor than i found error information on internet than i solve error very easily [simpleatif]

Never!I think it is none of my busines.Though it is wrong for me to say that,if I do, computer professor can do nothing. [xiayifeng]

yes i am system administrator i boot with OS cd and make repair have a nice day [alonaz]

Yep, I remember it were burnt out capacitors. It was easy but finding the capacitors and the right micro farad is the hard part. [merkava]
wow you know chip level repairing.great most people take it to the hardware repair shop if they have chiplevel fault. Are you a hardware techneetion or what. [sahyd2don]

I always repair my own computer by myself. If I can't solve it, I'll ask my friends. They will guide me to solve it. Then If I need to buy some parts, I'll buy it myself and ask the seller about the parts in details. [dunsong]

Yes, I am the one who repairs my computer. I am a Computer technician. [rhie0216]

I do it myself becoz I have 6 years experience in this field [musthafa510]

Yes I'm repairing it myself. I assembled it and still upgrading. I don't have a formal training in this field but I love computers. I was able to apply what I have read from the books [gatekeeper23]

i'm a computer assembler.. anything else you want to talk about? ;) [atul_asv]

no i had not repaired my computer yet myself because i don't know how to repair computer. [ankit_taran]

Some time i use to repair my computer myself. This happen to me when i think that i can solve that problem.Actually some time the problem can only be treated by replacing the defective hardware. In that case i can easily do that by change that part.If it is repairable parts who gets damaged then i need to contact mechanic. [ashumit02]

Oh yeah I lived for ripping this puppy apart and doing things to tweak it, but now I just use them to earn a living online and leave the techie stuff to my techie friends, some of which I trained to be the techie they are today. [WebMann]

Nop,because I never had problems with it :) [Mariusxzoner]
