Be honest we all know it shouldnt be done but sometimes isnt it unavoidable ?.Sometimes you may be in the middle of something important such as mylotting and cant move and just want to grab a little tiny weeeny snack.Aint nothing wrong with that is it as long as you dont spill anything right ?

Hi there, I know its bad, unhealthy, unhygienic etc, but I admit to sometimes having lunch at my computer. Not so much these days but I used to do so quite often before as it does make life a little easier. I am sure that it is better for us in so many ways to take a proper break when eating. [UK_Shree]

I normally try to avoid eating when I am working on the computer, but sometimes it happens that laziness overcomes me and I eat sitting close to my computer. No eatables should be spilled on or near the computer as then, there is an army of ants ready to take on the challange of moving through the delicate parts of the computer and retrieving those minute pieces of spilled food. I sit on my bed and eat, when I am eatting something like chicken because, it is very greasy and I don't want my computer to be all greasy, so I eat away from my computer, I don't want to mess it up, I have my drink by me, it's on the floor I don't want to spill any thing on my computer, I paid too much money for this computer to mess it up.happy [notlistening2]
I eat at the computer even at work because there is no where to eat. What I do though is to put the keyboard aside so that no crumbs don't fall in between. With the laptop which is what I used at home I differently have to put that aside before I can eat. Happy New Year Kerry [kerriannc]

I absolutely do not eat at my computer. If I want something than I go to the kitchen to get it and eat it either there or in the living room and watch television. I do however take water to drink while I am on the computer. But I have it fixed up in such a way that I can not possibly spill the water on the computer. It took a long time for me to get my computer so I don't want to mess my computer up. It is too high a price to pay to eat at my computer. I just don't do it at all. [sunshinelady]

I eat at my computer all the time and I have been computer since 1986. When I work I work and don't like to leave my office so I eat while I work. The only time I have ever had an accident was about 10 or 12 years ago when I had bought a bottle of Coke. I took the cap off and set it infront of my keyboard. I usually take the cap off, take a sip and put the cap back on but I was doing something and didn't put the cap on. Well I knocked the bottle over. I have really fast reflexes and grabbed the bottle. All the spilled out went into the cap sitting on the table and not even a drop hit the desk or keyboard. All the person beside me could say was: Holy Crap your fast. Now that I have told you this I have to be careful not to have another accident. :) [WebMann]

Yes, I always eat in front of my computer when I am in the office because there are times that I cannot get up because we need to finish a lot of work so I ended up eating in front of the computer while working… It is really fine with me… I prefer it lolz… FOr me, t here is nothing wrong with it as long as you know how to maintain cleanliness on your station and to yourself... I always make sure that the food I will eat is not that messy to eat on my workstation as well as it will not really smell food... because I might distract others who are hungry too... lolz... hehehehe Goodluck! You bet I do. I have an Amore computer desk, so my tower is cover up and free from potential damage. The part of my computer that is in the most danger is my keyboard. Funny, I teach my kids that it is not good to eat or drink around computers, but I have been showing them the wrong example. I even eat at my desk at work. Not a big heavy meal, but like snacks or cereal bars. But I had a bad habit of drinking coffee at my desk at work. I've eventually started drinking coffee at home as well. [hdjohnson]
guilty as charged.. at times, i'm busy watching my dramas online but my wretched stomach has to growl. so what i'd do is whip up instant noodles, settle right back into my seat and stay glued to the screen whilst eating. Normally I do eat in front of my computer when I have my breakfast. Its a routine for me to read email / news in the morning. So I have to have my meal while surfing or check my email or else I don't have much time because I only have I one and a half hour before I go to work. [wanpisu]
I eat at my computer but not while I'm using it. Normally I'm watching a movie/podcast or listening to something while I eat so I don't get the keyboard dirty. I also clean the keyboard regularly (use a screwdriver and pop out all the keys, put them in a bag with soap, wash them, and pop them back in). [retrac1324]
I am eating a toasted sausage sandwich with steamed spinach and a glass of milk as I type this, having a late night snack before I go to bed. I usually try to multi-task if I can and eating in front of the computer is the norm. I try to make sure I concentrate on the food and drink though as I like to enjoy it while I have it. I have destroyed at least two keyboards by dumping liquids in them and I am very careful but accidents do happen. I was going to buy one of those flexible silicone keyboards that are good to like 10 feet underwater but I missed the sale the day they were on sale. I do not know what I would be doing 10 feet underwater with my keyboard anyways unless I had already drowned. I guess when they dragged up my body they would at least get a bonus invincible keyboard as a prize. [mariposaman]
I was thinking more about a silicone keyboard, not just a cover, the covers apparently can be a PITA. You need a flat surface for best function though, otherwise if you had it on your knee it would be too flexible I would think. If you had kids one of these would be almost indestructible. Yes, I don't only eat at my computer, but drink too and I already ruined a computer doing that! Crumbs also fall between the keys and who knows what other junk one might be able to find in there! I don't get crumbs in my keyboard because I turn away to take a bite. My sister's computer has a keyboard that is full of everything though. My nephews are slobs. They eat everything in front of the keyboard and just make a mess. My brother-in-law vaccums out the keyboard frequently and cleans it. [netmom27]

Hey, Back a few years ago when I had a desktop computer that I didn't buy I always used to eat in front of the computer. Chips, chocolate, soda, you name it, I ate it! But ever since I got my laptop about 1 year ago, I have never eaten in front of it or while using it. The main reason being that I bought the laptop myself out of my pocket money as it is really really hard for me to buy something that is worth this much. I know that once I buy something such as a laptop or whatever I know that I won't be getting another laptop for probably 10 years or until the laptop dies. So summing up what I wrote, I have NEVER eaten infront of my laptop while I have been on it, but I have eaten while playing games on my old desktop computer but that was quite a few years back. Yes I do, haha... I eat in front of computer very frequently, I like to eat snacks while playing computer, sunflower seeds, dry fish, almond, etc., haha... And it's really a bad habit to do it though, I did buy a mini cleaner especially for the keyboard, sometimes use it to clean each and every part of it, this might help, and now I usually push the keyboard back inside the drawer, so that there wouldn't be that much dust or rubbish goes inside it when I am eating, hehe...
