i don't have a web cam and many of my friends have one. but i don't want one. i don't think there is much of use for me with that thing. i have no one that from long distance. my friends say that they can chat by viewing each other. but i can't understand what the use we see each other every day in school and in the evening or morning to see in this small screen i have to buy a new web cam ha ha it's funny

I don't have a web cam on any of the desktops but I do have on on the laptop which flashes at me when I boot up. I never use it though...the software might not even be installed for all I know. I have a web cam install in my desktop. My laptop has a built in web cam. It is good to use instant messenger as it can act as a phone, where you can call everyone who has computer in order to save phone call charges. If you have web cam, it will be better as you can see each other while chatting. This is much more better than any other VOIP. [ansonkelvin]

Ya i have a webcam attached to my moniter screen and i think it is really helpfull since some of my friends are really far away from my house and during holiday season like this i'm not able to speak with them ,but with the help of webcam i atleast can see and speak as if i'm sitting next to them and i love it actually and the other thing is that i have a cousin who is nearly 4000kms from my place and the only source for us to speak is through webcam and it really helps..happy mylotting.... when i bought my laptop it came with the cam. when i was away from home, i used to web cam with my parents, but it lagged quite badly that we decided to just go with skype phoning. at times, when i'm in school and we're bored, my and my pals would just sit around one of our laptops and start camwhoring. it's really fun! but it's not a necessity. In my own personal computer, I do not have a webcam. But in our family computer, yes, we do have a webcam. We use the webcam in getting in touch with our family and relatives who are in other countries. It is a good way of communication through video/live chat. It is practical too as it costs way less than a long distance phone call. There's also a more personal touch to it since you can actually view the persons you are chatting with. Only thing is though, sometimes the live feed gets a little bit chappy at certain times, especially during heavy traffic when there are a lot of people online. [MariaD]

I have a webcam in my laptop. I spend a lot of time teaching friends how to do certain poi moves, so it becomes very useful for me. Other than that i use it to take fun videos and pictures of myself on the go when i dont have my camera with me. Sometimes if you link your webcam up to a website, people are able to access it through google, so you have to be careful what you do in front of it while it is on. I think that webcams are a pretty useful tool, but not necessary at all. [pengwon]

Hey, A few year ago I also didn't have a webcam but I really wanted one. I don't ever remember why I actually wanted one, but I wanted one. I used to always see on T.V ads showing webcams and I was always astonished by looking at them and imagining me using it. Then there were those ads where it showed the webcam on the Laptop, which made me want a laptop with a webcam even more. Now I have a Laptop with a webcam and to tell you the truth, I have only ever used my webcam 3 times. No one really uses it, except if they want to talk to other people overseas in Europe. As you said legend4u, if we see our friends everyday why should we also talk to them using webcam? And also most webcams these days are only 1.3 Megapixel so you can't see much and it goes too slow too :D [EliteUser]
