Do You Print Out The Photos Or Keep Them In The Computer

Digital camera is very famous these days, and we tend to take pictures and post it on the blog or photoblog to share. Do you like to print it out or just safe them in the computer? I have regreted to just keeping them in the computer instead of printing them out, I had a problem with my old computer, I thought I did the back up for all my memories but apparently, it didn't go throught for some reason so I lost all of my valuable pictures that I took for the last few years... I was really upset about it :-( Recently, I'm going to get a new camera and I ordered a photo printer as well, I will definitely print out the nice ones this time to save my memory in the photo album! What do you do with the photos usually?

responses and comments:

I used to pick a few and print them out, or order them from a company online and have them mailed to me. Then I would put the rest on a cd-rom. Lately, something must be wrong with my burner, so I haven't been putting them on cd. I wonder if I need to get a new one. The great thing about the internet, you can also send pictures to loved ones straight from the computer. My sister and friends have a computer, so I will just upload the pictures and then send them the link. However, my mom isn't real good with the computer and neither is my brother. So a lot of times I will order pictures and send them directly to their house. That's really nice because then I don't have to worry about remembering to take the doubles and package them. And then remember to stop by the post office and mail them out. I love the new technologies and capabilities available to us in this day and age. [kykidd]
Thanks for sharing! :-) Yes, it is really convenient not like the old days ;-) [mermaidivy]

I don't print any pictures, but I create book and I print books. It is the best way to keep memories and have it for later view. Computer can crash any time. I keep all of my pictures on external drive. [polachicago]
That's a good idea too! Keep it on an external drive, I might try that! Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

Usually my pictures taken from digital camera were stored in computer. I dont have time to print it. I just print it when i needed but if not i just stored it here. But i have lots of copies aside from saving it here i also saved it on other hard disk and dvd disk because you can never know what will happen to your computer. [kmaram]
Yes, it is a good idea! Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I print a few photos. keep all in my HDD and also make a video with Photo Story 3 for windows. Copied the story to CD and play them on computer or CD/DVD Player. [sona22]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I don't. Well i did on few photos but not most of them and very rare. I just make lots and lots of copies then back them up on dvds or cds. Sometimes i put the good ones on my phone then keep it there. My printer isn't that good and it's kind of ink guzzler. So it's impractical for now to print those pics. [modstar]
I think the ink is pretty expensive... but it is a way for us to revise the old memories in the future! Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

All my photos are on my computer. I did start printing out some of my favourites using kodak online, but haven't really got enough room to display them all. Later this year I'm planning to get a couple of the digital Photo Frames you can buy so that I can display a larger number of my Photographs around the house. Until then I'm just trying to back them up on a portable hard drive to keep them safe. [Tiamjr]
Thanks for sharing! :-) That's a good idea! [mermaidivy]

I usually just keep my files stored on my computer. However, I also make sure to back up the important stuff to discs. This way I have copies of everything if something should happen to my computer. Storage devices such as flash drives and CD-RW discs are relatively cheap and easy to use. A 4GB flash drive can be purchased for around $20, and in most cases, all you have to do is plug them into your USB port and start using them. Some of them come with a simple software, but these are usually simple to install, and the software may not even be necessary to actually use the device. CD-RW discs and the old 3.5" floppy discs are also really cheap, and as long as your computer have the proper disc drives to accept them, they are tough and reliable. I still have a box full of those old 3.5 floppy disks, and I still use them from time to time if I need a place to store a few files. I like the more modern flash drives, however, because they offer a greater storage capacity in a smaller package. [goldeneagle]

Right now all of mine are saved to the computer. I have a photo printer but the ink is a ton more expensive then just getting them done. I'm eventually going to take them and have prints made or ordered. I print a few of the very special ones. I like having them on the computer so I can edit them and post them. I get a few complaints from family that they don't get enough pictures, but I'll eventually make them some when I get some new ink. [xoxcharityxox]
Yes, like you my pictures are just in the computer. I mean i uploaded it in a social networking site in a private album. In photobucket, i have also. I print out some pictures using just plain paper and i print it draft so save ink and then because print quality is not high and good, i laminated the pics so that if i can not open the computer or i have no internet access i can see my pictures. [glesil_00]

Hello there, mermaidivy. No, I don't print my photos much because I usually just share them with friends by posting them on the internet via blogs or social networking sites. However, I also make back up copies of them on CDs so that in any event that I have computer trouble I will still have my memories stored safely. [blungel0830]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

We do both. I don't even know how many photos we have. But we change them around about twice a year. Some go into albums to be given to my kids. Some are on disk. There are just so many options. It makes my head spin. [ersmommy1]
Hehe Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

Ever since the digital camera came out, I dont take pics. Not that I took alot before, mostly of kids when they were young. Now, its a special function. And I usually download them onto the puter. But thats where it ends. My Photo Albums are pretty sad. I should really get on that. I have boxes of photos , not yet put into albums. I know that now you are supposed to save them to disc. But I really like just pulling out an album and looking over the past. Seems an effort to sit at the puter and view. Ahhhh, gone are the good old days lol [Honeywest]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I usually just store them on my computer. I know that I should be prinitng more of them out, but I never get around to it. I just recently purchased a new photo printer, but have barely used it. I did save all my photos onto cd's awhile back so I know they will be safe if something happens to my computer. [breezie]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I usually print the photos out. But as of right now I don't have a printer that works. I too know what you are feeling when you say that you thought you had backups and didn't. I had a problem with my last computer and lost very valuable pictures of my grandmother and aunt that have both passed away. Not to mention pictures of my kids that I can never duplicate. I also upload a ton of pictures to Myspace now so that if anything happens I have them still. [wisdomt]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

Well me too! I used to keep photos and videos in my highschool days but my st*pid computer had a problem and all of it was lost. Actually the hardisk of the computer had a problem and there's no way I can get it back. I was the only one taking pictures and videos of my classmates and the school I graduated is going to close. We will have no remembrance anymore and it's just so sad. I did transfer them to a cd for backup but I forgot where I put it and when I found it, the cd was full of scratch and will not work anymore.doh [rrdelacruz84]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I take a lot of pictures when I travel , and have them on my computer till I get back home. When I am back home, I would print them out and keep them in my trip albums. I like keeping a record of all the places I have travelled to, especially places in different parts of the world. [greenline]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

yes i print the photos, but i choose which photos to print... i like putting them in albums and look at them once in a while or show them to visitors if they like browsing it. i also keep the in my computer, burn them in cds and i have them uploaded in my web album... that way whatever happens to the printed ones, the cds, or my computer i will always have a copy on them, on the net. [jayrene]
I think the good thing of the digital camera is you can take a lot of them and pick it later to print out! It is good! [mermaidivy]

Digital camera has changed the camera world since its invention, I have a 8 gb Memory Card inside my digital camera so i do all the video Recording when ever necessary and also the storage of the pictures is in terms of thousands. Sometimes i make hard copy and keep it but most of them i keep in the computer and one of my hard disk partation is completely for pictures. [healer]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

My pictures usually go straight to facebook at this point in time. The goal in taking pictures is for people to see them right? So why not put them up where 500 friends (many of them picture-loving girls) can browse? Of course I print the best ones though. [pvandy09]
I like to post them online and print them out as well :-) [mermaidivy]

I have them all on my computer. I have had some printed at the store. I have not printed any on my printer though [lelin1123]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I have a photo Printer at home, so I normally print them myself, but i always keep a copy on my Computer just is case. [AlyssaCB]

They say a PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS!...yep! i lost several albums of nice photos around 300pics after my mcard crushed...i prefer to burn and print them nowadays... [deewinc]
I like to see the pictures to recall my memory :-) [mermaidivy]

Nowadays, I rarely print them out unless there's going to be some kind of physical use for them. Most just stay on my hard drive, though I upload some to photo sharing sites. [omegacharge]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I always upload the photos to my computer. But when I have some extra cash I usually print them out through an online photo company such as snapfish. I'm also making photo books with some of the photos through shutterfly. Or sometimes I bring the memory card to walmart and print some out. [alexsis]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I keep my photos on my computer and backed up on my external hard drive. I really should print out more than I do, but I usually take a trip to Wal-Mart to print once every few months and either frame the photos or give them as small Gifts to people that are in them. I love having photos of loved ones around, and sometimes I'll just go through my pictures on my computer almost as if it were an album :) [theweerouss]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

it depends from photos and albums too!!So some of them i just have on my computer or device and others even i can print!!Normally that one i don't print i will save on a 2nd memory as pendrive,or cd in this way if there are dates which they will be loose on the computer i have photos saved as well!! [tonyllenium]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I keep my photos in my computer and save in my documents, and i place it in my friendster photo album and other sites that i join, one time i also print photos in my own Scanner the picture was so pretty and nice in color, and my cousin also give develop pictures from there digital camera to have my own copy, because there digital camera doesn't function very well in computer so she decided to develop the pictures. [Preciousgem]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

My girlfriend and I have 3 photo bucket accounts now, it's crazy. We have recently started ordering prints of our photos though just to have them around. Digital Cameras just make it too easy to take 1000's of photos and I could never print them all. [bunnyhoover]
Just to keep your photos safe from personal computer failure in the future, you should check out a site like photobucket.com. Like I said, we have thousands of photos now and take up multiple accounts it's free. I have also hear that Flckr is really good. Good luck, I hope this helps. [bunnyhoover]

my advice to you is to open a flikr account and save your pictures there and it frees up your computer and camera and you can also order prints from there. makes things simpler. [mama_bear]
you're welcome, you can also set your page to private so that no one can see those picture but you, or your friends too if you like :) [mama_bear]

Hello mermaidivy, I always keep them in my computer but few years ago, my husband deleted some of the photos accidentally when he re-installed some stuff for the computer. I was heart broken since I didn't save those photos anywhere else. Starting from that day, I keep all the photos in the computer and at the same time, I print them out first and keep them in a few albums. [gr8life]
Yes... I was very unhappy when I knew I didn't do the back up too... so I will print my photos this time when I get the new camera. [mermaidivy]

Good to have both really. One in print and the other in digital format. I think in this day and age we forget to value the printed version and rely too much on the data files in the computer. [thenextnoel]
yea, I think so too! [mermaidivy]

i will print some of them,my favorite and leave the rest staying in computer for two reasons. first, computer is not so convenient for me to look at the pictures than to print them out and hold them in my hands.second, my computer had crashed twice since I bought it, and during the repair lots of pictures missed, and i don't want that happen to my favorites. [flzmlady]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I normally just keep my photos on the computer, only the ones that are really nice and/or memorable would I take them out to get developed. I don't think it's worth the effort sometimes, although it's kind of sad in a way cause there's not that many recent family photos around the house due to that. I always make sure the photos are backed up though, so I won't lose it. It's just much safer that way. But of course there's also the risk of your computer crashing, but I don't think it's that big of a deal. So the photos just stay on the computer. [reichiru]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

hi mermaidivy, i take a lot of photos, but i don't print em all,as i don't have a printer.most of the photos i take just sit in my computer, but i print the photos i like,by giving it to the photo developing lab.it would really nice to have a photo printer. [vnrsudhan]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

i seldom print out the photo,i have no budget to buy a printer,as you know, the ink is too high, and also will use it very quickly,so i often put the photos in my computer or disk.of course, if the photos is very nice,i will spend some much to print out at photo gallery.Actually,i have few of photos, the beautiful photos is in my mind,it will be company with me for ever. [haiershen]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I keep the photos taken out of digital camera in my PC with a back of CD. I know that it is dangerous to rely on only PC, therefore, I prepare a back of CD of photographs and give it to my friends/relatives to upload the same on their PC also, in case of any mishap with my own PC, I can get back the photos from either my CD or my friends PCs. I go for print out of those photos only, which are extra ordinary and need to be kept safely. Good Post! [dpk262006]
It is my pleasure! [dpk262006]

I tend to keep most of my photos on computer these days, and they are backed up on a removable hard disk and on some DVDs. I have always tended to take a lot of computer and have about twent large photograph albums. I have noticed that I don't tend to look at them a lot, so it makes more sense to store them digitally from now on. I will look at them more on the computer than get my albums out. happy - Derek [derek_a]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

If i have my own printer of course I will print the pictures but for now I will just save the pictures on my usb and on my mail. That is what I want a photo printer. Hope to have one this year. My problem is my memory on usb is already so some of the photos are saved on my email. [grecychunny26]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I used to keep all of my digital photos on a USB drive which I thought was secure. However, something went wrong with the drive, and all of the data that I had stored on it, much more than just the photos, was all lost. I was eventually able to recover some of them, but most of the data on the drive was corrupted beyond recovery. At least, beyond my ability to recover it. It may be that a professional service might be able to recover the corrupted data, but such services are not cheap. I was pretty upset about losing all of the photos that I had stored on that drive though. Now I back up all my photos to a CD-R which I hope will provide a secure digital storage medium. [jwfarrimond]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

Sorry to know about what happened to your photos. I don't print out photos like I used to. Well, because they're mostly digital, these days. Shouldn't be a problem storing photos as there are lotsa websites that allow people to post their photos and serve as albums like Multiply, MySpace, Friendster, Facebook, Photobucket, Twitter and many others. My problem is opposite, actually. There were so many photos I wasn't able to keep because they're printed. Some gone missing. I should've scanned them and saved in my online albums. But, well, I can only regret I failed to do it. *sigh* [sharksfin]
Yea... I was heart broken to lose all the old pictures that I had... so I won't just save it in the computer this time when I get the new camera! Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

:( well i have haf many such experiences.. but still i cant afford to print them!! [xainub]
It is not that expensive these days especially if you do bulk print out, it is cheaper. [mermaidivy]

I tend to keep them all on the computer. Every now and again though I'll go through them all and pick some good ones and get prints from Kodak or whoever. It tends to be that I only get pictures which I intend to put on the wall or something like that. [richcritch]
I l ike to have the nice ones and put them in a frame, hang them on the wall too. [mermaidivy]

I don`t like to print out at all! That`s so strange,I think... So I prefer to save them in the computer BUT,actually, taking photos is not to my liking... [oOpasserOo]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

It's better if you store your photos online, like in your e-mail, friendster account or any online acct that can uploead photos, so if ever your computer crashed down, you can always get the pictures online if you want to print them, that's what I do.. Have a nice day [iamcapricorn]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I dont have a digital camera, for this very reason. I know that it's not possible to print every single photo from a digi cam, snd sometimes, they just get erased because someonelse messed with the camera. so invariably you get your photos lost. But with a conventional camera, you have limited photos to click, you make the best of it, and at the end they have to be printed, nottwo-ways about that. So you have your memories in place (Album). [sweetnsalty]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I take lots and lots of pictures. In only a month, I usually take hundreds of pictures. So I usually just store it in my computer's hard drive. I print out all my best pictures once every six months. It happened to me before when all the pictures in my hard drive was lost because my hard drive broke down. So I always make a back-up and put it in a disc and also an external hard drive. [zzyw87]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I keep it in my computer cuz i've got over 500 photos stored in there. It will cost me a fortune to print all of it..lol!!! However, I am planning to print some of it, in case something bad happens to my computer in future. [babymimi05]
hehe that's right. [mermaidivy]

I do like taking digital photos with my digital camera and cell phone. I store them on my computer and on the Internet. I use photo storage/file storage websites to store them on. I use Box.net and Flickr.com. I do occasionally print out my photos. [chunijole]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I do the both. Some imporatant photos will be printed and other will be kept in my laptop. [pratheep87]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

i usually keep my photos on my computer but if is there some important photos i will print them [brtfeer]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I seldom print photos after using digital camera. I keep my photos in my computer. I only choose some that looks great and nice to print. lol [sdas86]

hi there i go out & just take photo's when i have the urge. most of the time my photo's stay on the computer unless i have a specific purpose to print some off. i have ordered some on a website available here in NZ done by Snapfish New Zealand which is done thru the HP company outlet here @ present it is 12c per photo which is great then all you have to pay is postage & handling. i have online photo albums so i can also burn onto a DVD / CD which i can take into the store to be done into photo's when i want them to give my kids. latas lamb101 xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo [lamb101]

I have been taking pictures from different devices such as digital camera, mobile phones but I have never taken its print out. They are still there in my Computer I am showing them from my computer only whenever required to show someone!! It also reduced space requirement and caring about photo album. I have taken couple of back-up of those images and it is fine!! [rakesh284]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

Alive Pictures! It's always the best to print it out. So that you would have a copy just in case deleted or attacked by virus. It's my happiness collecting and taking pictures. I print them and make some collage out of it. I'll put some labels and scripts just to make the picture talk by themselves. Because if it's purely picture, of course you'll immediately get bored out of it. So why not let each picture talk about themselves. [pamelacaytap_26]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

Hello mermaidvy. I used to get my photos developed, but now I usually save them in my laptop. I have an extra hardware for those photos. I save them all there for safety. [williamjisir]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I only print those good photos, bad shots are better be kept. [keatondrunk]
I don't print out ugly photos either. Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I love my digital camera!!! Most times I just store my pictures on the computer. Sometimes I print out a few. Recently I printed some and sent to my son who is deployed. He was so excited to get them. I love taking pictures especially of my family and close friends! [SuzyQ12]

I have them all on my computer... BUT, I'm SLOWLY printing them out and putting them in albums. I'm up to the year 2003... 2004 is ready to get printed out but theres SO much that I have to do it in phases... 2004 is also the year I got married so there's a TON more pictures to sort thru. I'm juggling 3 albums at a time, the Wedding will make 4 albums. I have so many albums because I have my album and then an album for each of my 2 daughters so they can have the memories as well... Once I get all the pictures printed out, I'm going to be backing them up onto CD's for each album also. [fran429]

hi..we too using digital camera and mobile cameras..i dont think i took print out of my any photo..all are in my sytem..before one year i lost all things from my haddisk..that time i lost those periods photos...after that too...i have it only in my system..and also i have some photos in google..and some photos in another system here...anyway most of my photos are here only..in my sytem.. i too like to take print out of some photos...i will take it soon..for that i have to select sonme photos... we cant take all photos as prints..only the few..becouase if i took photos using digital camera or mobile means..most of the photos are useless...and also photos count is very high....if we take all photos print out means...it is waste of money... after seeing this discussion i like to take som printouts..mainly..my mom and me...my whole family picture..then me wiht my brother.. my lover photo..... these few photos i gonna take print... have a nice time... [srikool]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

If its a nice photo I print it if not no. Printing photos costs you much than by just saving it on a cd. [wendelltrack]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

Usually i print my digital photos, i like the idea of handling a physical photo not just click a few buttons on a computer. Furthermore hard drives are not exactly the most reliable piece of hardware, so if i really care abour a photo i print it. The real advantage of digital pictures is that you can make as many photos as you want and then print just the ones that you really like. [ra1787]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I have to admit that I tend to just keep my photos on the computer rather than getting them printed. That said, I do have some of my favourite ones printed out and framed on the walls. Ideally I'd get myself a digital photo frame but I'm waiting for them to be better specced and more affordable. Ideally I'd like one with wireless network capabilities etc so i don't have to do any copying of files to a memory card etc etc. [lowres]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

Hello... I always make sure that I have copies of the pictures by having them printed at my favorite photo shop. But I also have back up copies of the pictures in a USB Flash Drive. Just to make sure. Especially now that our computer is having some problems. I love scrapbooking and pictures of my children are very important to me. So, I make sure that every shot I take will be permanently preserved.happy [jcj_111776]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I never been print any of my photos stored in my computer, I am much preferred viewing them on my computer.. [kulotzki]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I don't have anymore Ink, for my printer I have to buy some. I do keep some of my pictures on my Computer. [marciascott]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I just leave them inside my computer and view it whenever I feel I want to but in fact I seldom open the photos in my computer. I had got some photos printed out in the past but then I find I seldom take them out for memory. I remembered quite some years ago, I was on a trip with some friends and one of them just don't have a camera nor will he take any photos. I ask him why and he said that taking a photo is not needed because the best picture is already captured into the mind. [faisai]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I prefer to keep them on my hard disk itself, but of late I am running out of hard disk space. The digital photos, especially the higher mega pixels ones, are very large files and can easily suck up your free hard disk space. If the photo is really good and we feel like displaying it in our house then, we go for a good quality printout and frame it. For the problem you've mentioned it is better to write a CD of the photos or plainly upload it onto the internet. [rajeshfgh]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

Hi, same as you i keep all the photos inside my computer. But i always like to save an extra copy into a empty dvd so i can make sure i wont lost it. I dont think it is worth to print it out. I rather save those money to buy an external harddisk to put all the photos inside. I wont take out the photos that i print out to see also. But if it is inside my computer i will go and see it sometime. So for me i still prefer to save all my photos inside my computer. Happy Myloting!!! [lchiat]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

Hi I don't blame you for worrying about your pictures on your computer. However there are some simple solutions for you. One is you can put them on a cd or memory card. Another one is you can upload them all to snapfish.com and they will stay there forever until you delete them personally. This way if your computer crashes you can always go back online and get them from the storage there. I have hundreds of pictures that I scanned and took with my camera stored at snapfish. You don't have to pay anything to store them there. Also they give offers and other things if you decide that you want to have them printed professionally. Sometimes it cost like 9 cents a print and you get a second set for free. Then you get credits for free prints. I also have a xdrive online. That too is free and all you have to do is upload all your pictures and things you want to keep to the xdrive. I wish you luck and I hope this has helped you. [jwiz512]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

the same dang thing happened to me and i dont have a printer. can you get a printer for a laptop? i dont even know. [bunnybon7]
I think you could try and ask. Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I usually keep them in the camara well actually in the memory card that I have in teh camara. I have plenty of space left in the memmory card but I got two cards just in case. Some of the pictuer I do print out so I can give them to people that want a picture. And I also put some in my computer but just the ones that like so I can seen them to people in the e-mail or just to upload into a site. I never erase the pictures form the memory card since I don't know what might happen to the computer becasue my oldest uses the computer and I never know what kind of virus might get into it and I end up losing everything. That actually happend to me ones already two months ago. Good thing I had my memory card. [desteny114]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I just keep them in my computer. But if I'm doing my scrapbook, I print some of them. [minniemadz]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I also have the same problem with you. I never print my pics from my camera, thiught it will be save just to save it in my computer. I lost all my pics in my old computer due to virus, and then lost all my vacation pics to Europe because an error glith in my office computer. Luckily I already save almost all of them in my facebook. Websites like photobucket, flickr, or facebook always useful for uploading and stored your pics. I am sure all my pics will be safe there and only force major can destroy that sites... [sophisticated_boy]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I am behind when it comes to technology because I have only had a digital camera since last Christmas; it was the old fashioned one until then! I keep all my photographs on my computer because I have created a screen saver from them, it's great because my laptop is on all day almost every day, it's like having a digital photo frame; I probably wouldn't look at all my pictures of they were in an album. Yes they are diligently backed up on a disc! Speaking of albums I have a lot of those too from the pre-digital days too!happy [paula27661]
Thanks for sharing! :-) [mermaidivy]

I have been saving my pics on cd. I dont like to leave things on the computer. I would like to print them but i have so many. It would cost a small fortune in paper and ink. [jdyrj777]
Yea... the paper and ink is pretty dime expensive... [mermaidivy]

I still have to figure out how to get them off my Cameras and on to the computer. I have sort of been shown but it goes like this. Here this is what you do and they just take over and stand in the way so I have never taken the pics off of my camera and camcorder. I know I better get to finding out how to do this. [tjburcham]
hmm USB? memory stick? [mermaidivy]

I have so many photos, and i do keep them in my computer, until i collect around 100 or 200 of them. Then, i have this software which turns the pictures into a show where i can actually watch them on TV with music to entertain me. This, i do with all of my photos, and my little software actually keep all of the original files into the cd as well. Therefore, i do not lose the files, and i can watch the cd over and over again. I then make duplicate copies of the cd so in case my cd gets broken, i would still have a back up. I then would be able to keep all of my photos as if they were hard copies. Well, hard copies turn yellowish and fade, so it is just the same. I then erase all of my photos from my desktop computer so i would still have ample space for new files and photos. This is the reason why i don't hesitate in taking as many photos as possible. In fact, the more the merrier. CD's do not really take too much space like photo albums, so i really do not have actual photos anymore. In case i need hard copies, i just yank out the file from the cd, then print them out. I like the hard copies too and I like to hang them up on a wall or something to appreciate the nice pictures everyday :-) Thanks for responding! :-) [mermaidivy]

I am passionately for film cameras and so I have to print if I want to see them. I don't like looking at photos on a computer [Elspethr]
Me either... Thanks for responding! :-) [mermaidivy]

I have printed some of them out on photo paper and they looked pretty good, but I did not print all of them, just some of the favorites. I saved them one time on my email and that was good idea because something happened to my computer and I had to buy a new computer. Then, I have the photos saved on on my email and I still had them. I really don't know how to back up the photos. [sweetbabyjane]
I don't know either... I think we could add an extra hard drive? Thanks for responding! :-) [mermaidivy]

I keep my pictures on the computer until they are edited and then I upload them to an online album. [libby2009]
You're welcome. [libby2009]

My phone takes a memory card and I will upload my photos to the computer, but then I also have them on the memory card. I have printed some up. Especially with my phone I that to the local kiosk machine and bluetooth my photos in. I usually buy both a CD of my pictures and a couple of my favorites are printed out. My phone also directly emails pictures to my myspace account so I also use that feature to get pictures from my phone directly to my page. I just save my videos directly to the computer. Can't really print those! [dismalgrin]

i only select what i print. i mean, printing can be expensive when you print a lot. i usually print the group shots and the candid shot because those are the most fun to look at every now and then. the rest i store in my computer, burn in CD's and upload to photo hosting sites. i really see to it that i have a back-up of my important files, like picture because nothing can replace the memories that they contain. Oh no ... I am sorry that that happened to you. I like to get copies made of my photos because I either use them for scrapbooking or I like to put them in a photo album and pass the album around at get togethers. It's also a good idea to put negatives or copies in a safe deposit box at a bank in case there is a fire, etc. in your house. I used to work in a bank and heard stories about individuals losing all their treasured photos in a fire or flood or even lost through moving or family disputes where the photos wouldn't be shared.... so they put them in a safe place. hi mermaid! ^^ i like keeping pictures in my computer and uploading them to my social network accounts. but i also like printing some of them. i pick the good ones and take them to the developing station and get them printed. its nice to share them through the internet but its better if you can have something to take out from the drawer and reminisce the memories. and besides, you can't always have internet connection and your computer might bogged down sometimes so you can't always check on the pictures. but if you have hard copies, then its easier to take a look at them when you want to. i used to print pictures in my own printer too. but my printer got broken so i can't print anything right now. ^^ [secretbear]

My printer is not too great, and we tend to take a lot of pictures. They get backed up on disk. I am working on a collage of pictures that will be a huge poster, I have made a smaller 11x8 one for a scrapbook that I think came out pretty well. [UtopianIdealist]

Thats a very good idea to save photos in hard copy form.I usually store the photo son my computer.Recently my motherboard went down.and the engineers formatted my hard disk. But they took a backup before formatting the computer.I had all my photos intact. Its good to keep hard copies of photos as it won't get spoilt and we can show it to all people who visit our house.happyhappy [vicky30]

I had also experienced the same problem once, when my hard disk crashed and I lost all the pictures taken for the past one year.I was absolutely devastated. But,suddenly I remembered that I have given the pictures to one of my cousins. So,luck saved me at that instant. From then on,I dont take a risk.I write them in a good quality high end DVD as a a back up. All I use to print some of them since, seeing the snaps in a paper form gives it a new dimension... Hello mermaidivy! I have some photos stored in my computer. Others are saved in my external hard drive. I have had the others printed so that I could display it and others are kept in a photo album. I also have a digital frame that shows the pictures saved in a memory card. [dolce_vita78]

I used to print all my pictures before the introduction of digital cameras. And then, all of it was loaded on the computer and I didn't have a CD or pen drive to take it to get printed (I don't have a photo printer either). Anyways, to be safe, I uploaded the pics in PicassaWeb too. REcently, I bought new CDs and believe it or not got 3000 photos printed!!!! I put them in albums..separate albums for each of my boys. Now, I'm getting them printed each month. [SViswan]
