I was just curious as to how many people watch movies on there computer?? I have never done this... only once or twice have I gone to a tv station website and watched 2 episodes of a sitcom that I missed... it was nice to have that there so I was able to stay up on that sitcom. However, I have never done this with a movie!
The reason I ask is because Netflix commercials says that you can get the movies in the mail or you can watch them immediately on your computer... I never thought of doing this --however our tv is losing its color and I might want to set up some movies on my computer for us to watch --at least the color would be right!! lol
Is it easy to do?? I would be watching mostly kids movies, but then I dont have a problem with that since we have cartoons on all day!!! rolleyeshappy

I watch many movies on the C VIA netflix, on the 1 CD in the mail option which includes all the Movies you want to watch on-line. Easy to setup of course having a able connection helps. [robertjvan]

I have been watched movies on the internet since the day we got a decent internet connection. Even now when I am writing here, I have a Naruto shippudden episode in another tab. I have watch complete naruto, naruto shppuden, dragon ballz, dragon ball GT, numerous hindi and english movies all for free. I have even downloaded some movies via torrent. I have also got some popular sites for watching latest english and hindi movies. Here they are... www.filmhill.com. I have used the comp to watch movies when I have traveled.It is a good way to pass time on long road trips.happy. I have also used the notebook to watch some sitcoms on YouTube that are no longer aired on TV. I used to subscribe to Netflix DVDs, never tried the other option. Good luck with that! [cbeee3]

I do this a lot actually. There are websites that you can watch movies that are in theaters and haven't come out on DVD yet. So that's what I watch. They are bootleg and not such good quality but it's aright. You can watch them again in good quality after they've come out on DVD. You never have to pay for anything. [Bebushi]

I don't like watching movies on my computer because the sound isnt that great so i prefer watching movies on the big screen so if i download a movie I put it on my jump drive then put it on my ps3 and can watch it on my tv which is the reason why I love my ps3 so much. [arcidy]

Yes I like to watch some movie on my computer, Usually I use my laptop to watch computer with my friends, but I just not use my laptop, I also use a projector and a good sound system to watch movie on my computer. Just rent the movie DVD or download it, turn off the room's lamp and turn on the laptop, projector and the sound system. Watch it with my friends or my girlfriend. yes my friend i have a stock of movies on my computer and i watch them on my computer. i like to watch them on my computer because it is in my room and so i can watch the movies at my ease lying on my bed. and that is something which i enjoy a lot. i have right now more than 100 movies in my personal collection. It is extremely rare for me to watch a movie on the computer and that is because it is so uncomfortable. The computer chair isn't a great place to sit. I would rather put a movie on the TV and sit on the lounge. Much more better. happy lol Love kids movies and cartoons! [DanielleA]

Yes ,I do watch movies on my computer after downloading them from free movie download websites..This way after storing most of the must watch movies ,I cosy up on my favourite sofa in my room with some delicious snacks & popcorn & watch them one by one during my free time mostly on weekends when there is no good stuff on TV. Yes, I do watch movies on my 17 inch screen laptop. The subscription to Nexflix is definitely worth the $8 monthly fee. All genres to choose from and you can watch movies instantly. However, there are some movies that you have to order through the mail. The best thing about Netflix is that there are no late fee and you can keep the movie as long as you want it, send it back when you are ready for the next movie. You can cancel whenever you want. It's great to watch a movie on the computer. The thing is, cinemas can be good and excellent, but nothing beats the privacy and peace you get in your own room. Understanding the dialogues is very important for any movie and I have noticed that people talk a lot in cinemas and finding quiet is quite hard. bournehappy [bournecaindelta]

Since we can not watch them all in a day, what I do is to copy it in the computer and watch them later. There were times that we watched it in the room using the computer. I didn't own a TV for ages. Plus, I'm just not a movie person. Very few movies meet my standards, especially American movies. But if I do watch something, I normally do it on my computer. I have a big comfortable chair, and normally have a cold glass of Ice Tea, and thus it's just the place where I wind down. Provided you have a DVD drive, your computer should automatically see the DVD and play it. If it is only a CD drive, then DVDs obviously will not work. As for watching movies over the internet, if you Cable internet, or some other form of high speed interenet access, you should be ok there. If you do not, if you a modem over the telephone, it may be too slow, and you'll end up with choppy video, or disconnected sound (sound that isn't quite in time with the video). Further, you'll need a pretty decent computer to handle playing the video. Playing video over the internet is "harder" for the computer than playing from a DVD player. In short, you might be able to pop in a DVD and play perfect video, yet get choppy messy video off the internet. Here's my tip, give it a try with a single video. Worse that could happen is you try and it doesn't work, and you lose a few bucks, and never try it again. Otherwise, you might find a great way to see movies without any fumbling to return movies. I've watched movies through net-flix on my computer. What they don't tell you is that not all movies are available for downloading. They're usually several years old. From the 80's and before. It's very easy to do, though. Most computers these days are able to play DVD's. That might be another option for you. I like to use the computer to watch favorite shows that I miss on TV. [jimntam]
