You heard it right, we can watch TV programs through computer via internet. Even you don't have television you can still watch TV programs using your computer with internet connection. Many sites are now offering this for free. One of these sites is http://tv.tipidtrip.com It's not as easy to change channel like on real television but the point is we can watch tv programs in computer. Sometimes during lunchbreak at work, I watch local tv programs in my computer. For me, this is great. Another advancement in technology. How about you, what do you think of this?

Even you are away from television, having your computer with internet connection will let you watch your favorite tv shows. I just found it great since it's another addition to technology. I am sometimes using Internet to watch live matches online and sometimes watching wwe videos. I am using mostly to watch live matches and working on other activity and switch window when required. Live matches online is really good these days with just 25 second difference from what we get on TV. I am working on computer and keeping live match going on at the back end and low volume so that I can't miss the commentary when their is break I just switch program and do other activities. Also I watch WWE videos sometimes online because its telecast on TV in my country is one week delayed so sometimes out of curiosity I watch it online. [rakesh284]
I think it's great. I typically never can finish watching a show in one sitting since my son keeps making me run around. Then I get lost and lose interest. Yes, it's good that we can watch TV programs through our computer, using internet connection. Sometimes when i am far from my TV, yes i switched on some US cartoon programs for my son to watch. Usually, i just switched on for 1 - 2 hours only, for my son to watch. After that, usually i will switch on the TV for him to watch. The only time I ever watch TV on the PC is when I have missed a program for some reason or another and also forgot to record it. I dont know whats wrong lately but the quality of the image on tv is really bad, so I'll switch to my pc then as I have it plugged to my big screen tv, so its like watching tv but the image is much better. it is possible to watch TV on the internet. i found out a software called "sopcast" if i am not mistaken. this software provides the easier way to swtich between channels. but on the other hand, where the place i live, the internet is so so so slow, the quality is fine but it takes 5-30 seconds delay. I spend a lot of my time on the computer and it's a big source of entertainment. Hulu is a free shows and sometimes movie site for people in the US (other people are blocked or something). I like browsing short clips on YouTube too. I don't think people should solely use computers as their form of entertainment. TV monitors are usually so much bigger and I do not want my computer monitor to be that big! I dislike so many commercials for even a paid cable service. It feels like a waste of time. I have known about being able to watch tv on my laptop for awhile but haven't tried it. I could see where for a short program it might be okay but the screen size compared to a regular tv would get to me if the program was much longer than 30 minutes. Has does the pc handle e-mails and such coming in while you are watching, does it interrupt the program in any way? I dont use the computer for watching movies or tv programs. I know of a couple of sites but havent used them as yet. The reason being. It eats up your computers memory. I play sims3 and that is mainly why. I can watch the tv thats near my computer to watch a movie or tv program and play sims3 at the same time on the computer. I've never heard of tipidtrip, but it sounds good. What kinds of programmes are they? Are they from a particular TV channel? Here we can watch some programmes that we've missed on our TV stations via their websites. The BBC website has iplayer, which means that you can watch certain BBC programmes for a certain amount of time after they were aired. I know that there are a lot of websites out there that let you do this, whether they're legal sites or not, but I'm only familiar with those attached to TV channels. But I think you need something, I don't what it is called, that you need to attach to your computer so you can watch TV programs with it. I think that it is a great thing that we are able to watch television through our computers. Yeah, its a great way of catching series you've missed! A lot of channels provide an online player in their website, where you can view TV programs of the said channel. I watch iTV programs using ITV player in their website. Its a great alternative here in Britain since you need to pay a license for you to have a tele. [giegrace]
I know that there are some sites that offer full shows and movies for free. Sometimes the tv network of the show itself posts full episodes in their website for the fans. I dont avail of such promos or freebies though. I mean I still prefer to watch them on tv, the ads kinda gives the excitement and prolongs the agony for a moment as to what happens next. It just gives a show more appeal when the scenes would hold the audience captivated and interest them to wait and watch a few ads just to not miss the ultimate ending of the episode.
