How Many Computers Do You Have At Home

Okay, in this the information age, the computer has become a very common household item. Personally, I have three computers... one for each member of the family. My seven year old daughter got hers about 3 years ago because we got sick of her changing the settings on our computers and messing things up. Personally, I'd love to get a laptop... specifically a macbook. Then I could do some of my work in the bedroom if it was something important and I didn't want to be disturbed. I'd use my normal computer for leisure and my macbook for business. So how many computers do you have at home? Is there one for each family member or do the children share? Do all computers share the internet connection via a network or are there only certain computers that have internet? If you have children who have their own computer, is their computer in their bedroom or in a communal area where you can keep an eye on what they're doing?

My husband and I each have our own computer. He has a desktop computer, and I have my laptop. He doesn't like laptops because of there's no where to sit the mouse (and he won't use the touchpad!), and I like the flexibility of the laptop. We are usually on the computers at the same time, so it only makes sense to have our own! [Kecia08]
LOL, that's for sure... it might get a little crowded with you both trying to use the one computer at the same time. [jewelenterprises]

There are currently three computers at my house. There's one in the living room/work room, and there's one in my room. I also have a laptop that I use to do work while I'm on campus. Right now there are only two internet connections, but there were three when my brother lived here. I just transfer the connection between my laptop and my desktop computer depending on what work I need to do. [rpegan]
All three of ours are in the home office. We had a wall to wall desk built to get rid of the clutter of desks in the room. My daughter sits between my partner and I. We are all networked with a shared internet connection. It's cable broadband and its plugged into the router along with the three computers. The router is also compatible with wireless so if I do get my macbook I'll still be able to access my internet connection. [jewelenterprises]

Well, I have one computer and one laptop at my home . Computer is very old , when I was in class 12 my uncle gifted me that . But when I started doing computer networking course, I purchased my laptop..... thanks !!! [sincere4frdship]
My daughters computer is the oldest one of the three.. we gave it to her when we upgraded mine... it's good enough for her needs. She's only in grade two so she really doesn't need some flash computer. [jewelenterprises]

we have 4 computers at home + on laptop used for work. I own a laptop that I use for work/home, we have a PC thats for my parents, another mac (old) for video editing, my mom just got a new mac laptop and my dad has a computer he got with his job. We will probably get rid of the PC and the old mac as their use is limited and they are becoming useless. There is one for each family member but I am an only child, the computers do share one internet connection. My computer (child age 17), is a laptop and it goes to school with me everyday or else it sleeps in my room, I move around with it too. My parents do not look at what I am doing, they trust me. [qdietz]
Well, I would hope that at 17 you can be trusted to be responsible with the computer. Then again, at that age you're pretty much responsible for yourself anyhow. [jewelenterprises]

we've got two computers in our home. i use a laptop, and my g/f uses the desktop. but we've bad the desktop longer than the laptop. i just recently bought the laptop for myself here about a couple months ago. [BUSSY1979]
It's always good to have more than one computer so that more than one person can access it together [jewelenterprises]

We just got our second household computer....another Dell desktop. We needed another one as a back up because this one is starting to have a few problems. We have to leave the cover off the processor so it won't get too hot. My husband has also starting using the computer more and we didn't want to have to take turns. lol. It's great now having two computers. [ozzieblackcat]
Oh yes, not having to argue over who gets to use the computer is a definite advantage. These days I tend to use the computer more than watching tv. [jewelenterprises]

i have 1 desktop and 2 laptop i only use the desktop for now. [busta1]
All of our computers are desktops. My daughter has a CRT monitor and my partner and I have flat panel lcd monitors (flat Panels are wayyyy good)... I don't think the graphics on the one I have are as good as the crt but it leaves way more space on the desk. [jewelenterprises]

I have a laptop and two desktops of my own. My laptop travels alot with me. Currently i also have a desktop pc i brought home with me to work on from work and 3 laptops. They'll be back at work and ready to go home with their owners tomorrow morning. [saundyl]
Yes an IT person. I find i work in the field see some AWESOME computers and get major cases of the i wants and has to haves. [saundyl]

we only have 1 computer at home right now and my brother is planning to install me another one. :) [chiyosan]
Good luck with the new computer... it's always fun when you get a new one isn't it? Someone was saying the other day that windows XP is being taken off the market. I think I will have to grab a copy of the pro version before it goes since I've heard people say they don't really like windows vista. [jewelenterprises]

There are two computers in our home. There is my PC desktop, and then right at the side of mine is my partners G4 Mac. He's very much a Mac person and I hate Mac's, and so I got my own PC instead. We share an internet connection via a network, which suits us both, because we don't really download very much and so we don't slow down the internet by any means. I would love to get myself a laptop though, so that when we go on vacation and the likes, I don't have to try and remember all the best bits to blog about when we get back. I could blog each night before going to sleep. I figure thats a much better way to do it, and am hoping to get a laptop before my vacation in August :) [angelwhispers30]
I think the reason I want the mac is because I'm fed up with all the memory problems (like windows virtual memory too low)... incompatibilities, error messages, spyware, adware, malware etc. Apparently the mac doesn't have those issues... plus it has the built in camera. And the mac OS is apparently very similar to windows now... the change would probably take some getting used to... like getting used to windows 95 when I upgraded from windows 3.11 and when I upgraded to XP pro from Windows 98. The thing I don't like with windows is that you get so many applications that you would never actually use... and it just causes a huge clutter on your hard drive. The good thing with a notebook too is that you can take it with you and sometimes, depending where you are, you can still access the internet remotely. For example, here in Australia shopping malls are now providing wireless internet signals. I believe that Starbucks ae also providing wireless internet. [jewelenterprises]

We have three computers, the one communal family one in our office, my boyfriend's pc and my laptop. They're all connected to the internet through our wireless network. My dad bought my laptop for me a few Christmases ago as a joint birthday/Xmas present with my digital camera, so that I had a place to store and edit my photography and do my school work, but it wasn't connected to the internet until my boyfriend came to live with us and taught me all the wonders of wireless, as he's a bit of a techy and builds/fixes computers =D Now that my dad doesn't live here any more, and my sister has moved away for University it turns out that the three of us have a computer each. Mum is a bit computer illiterate though, so I help her when she wants to do some research or download something =) My boyfriend is hoping to save up for a laptop by the end of the year, because they're just so handy to have, especially as a student. =D [Malyck]
I'm in Australia also, and yeah, with certain courses we get specialised training, I just meant some kids who've duped me only do basic word-processing/internet lessons and have taught themselves/learnt in their own time and it's pretty impressive. It's impressive what can be done with computers, period! I like robotics and find it interesting, but I'm so hopeless =P Give me some ingredients and a kitchen though, and I'm in my zone. lol. SIX? Now THAT is amazing. That's super neat =) [Malyck]

I have two compters in my family. One is desktop compter, the other is laptop.because our family is samll,so my family all use the laptop, include my son.My son is only two years old,I offen play some Disney's film for him.He is very excited........ [chumin]
Kids just seem to love anything with buttons. And with technology the way it is these days I think it's important to introduce them to the concept at an early age. [jewelenterprises]

i have only one computer at home but now it broke down. i need to buy power supply to repair it. i ddnt yet make canvass how much the power supply is. [nice030481]
Try http://www.dhgate.com It's like a Asian Ebay site... but the products are really cheap. I had a look and their power Supplies all started around the $80 mark which is a lot better than retail price. [jewelenterprises]

with our dependence on the interent for basically about everything, i think its not unusual to see a 1:1 ratio for family members to computers. at home, i have one desktop and one laptop. i'm the only one who really uses a computer so i guess two computers are enough. the desktop i use for checking emails and surfing the net while the laptop i use for my online business activites. i'm planning though to upgrade my laptop so i'll probably buy a new unit and sell my current one. [allen0187]
Of course it's not just internet either... computers make it so much easier to do school projects etc... even if all you've got is a PC encyclopedia program. But yeah, I use the internet for a lot of things, shopping, banking, researching products I want to buy, typing letters and documents, getting insurance quotes, entertainment, online business etc. I really couldn't imagine life without it now. What sort of online business do you have? [jewelenterprises]

i only use it at home. i live with my parents. we have only 1 pc at home for this purpose. even if others use also, i do not think we need more than 1 at home.its sufficient [subha12]
It seems most homes have more than one PC these days. But there are still those who have only one. I wonder what the overall percentage of homes containing PCs is these days. [jewelenterprises]

I have a desktop and a laptop. [germanosz]
I'd love to have a laptop. If I had one I'd use my desktop for entertainment purposes and my laptop for business. [jewelenterprises]

I only have one desktop. I have to share it with four others, my three sons and my husband. Each one have to take turns. I am thinking of buying myself a laptop soon because I really don't like to be disturb when I am doing my online surfing and most of all, mylot. [ellie26]
It's really annoying having to share a computer. I started out with just one but when I upgraded I handed the original along because it was still working... that's the best way to increase the number of PCs in the family. To upgrade before the other computer dies entirely. [jewelenterprises]

Hi..we have two computers ..one for me and one for hubby...they are both laptops ..but the reason that they are laptops is that we just dont have room to have desktops. We have a wireless router .I think that they are a marvellous invention. We dont have to worry about any young children looking at the internet in our house..but I know my son in law and daughter watch closely when my grandaughter is using the internet. [ruby222]
I tend to watch carefully when my seven year old is on the net because I know how many creepy stalkers are online and don't want to see her targeted. So far she hasn't really gotten to the 'chat' aspect of the internet. Though she is a member of a site called 'club penguin' and chats to some of the others there. But no big conversations or anything. The main thing she likes to do is play games. [jewelenterprises]

I personally have two. I have a laptop and a desktop. There are five altogether. Oe for each family member. I dont like to fight over when I can use the computer so I had to have my own. [mssnow]
Yeah, I remember my two oldest children when they had to share... it was always an argument... "it's my turn!"... "No it's my turn!" lol If it got too bad I'd say to them... "Right... it's nobody's turn. You're banned from it for the rest of the day." Cruel mum I know... but as a result the arguments decreased. [jewelenterprises]

We currently have two laptops. One is older (it's my laptop from college) and getting pretty beat up but it is currently hooked up to the stereo and used almost exclusively for music purposes. Then there is the one I am on right now that we use for all other things: internet, pictures, typing etc. Neither of need one for work and our child isn't old enough to have her own or share ours yet. Both computers have internet access, the music laptop has a hard connection and the other laptop has a built in wireless card and connects that way. [WreckHerQuad]
LOL, I remember my ex husband hooking up our PC to the speaker system so we could play CDs in surround sound. Two stereo speakers plus the PC speakers. [jewelenterprises]

my sister and i share one laptop but i use it most of the time since i have heavier school work that really needs more usage of the computer. my dad uses an old busted laptop and we have a desktop which we don't anymore. you're right... computers are indeed a necessity nowadays. [athinapie]
... computers are indeed a necessity nowadays. Especially if you happen to have any age student in the house. [jewelenterprises]

Hmmm...We have two desktops and two laptops, except when I bring my laptop home from work. So we have 4 or 5, depending on the time of day. Of the desktops, though, only one gets heavily used. The other is older, and has Alzheimer's because it doesn't always remember that it has a CD/ROM drive and a USB port. [gantwick]
ROFLMAO... a computer with alzheimers, I like that. Reminds me of my ex husbands work... two of their Printers had nicknames. One was 'JAWS' because it was always eating the paper. The laser printer was called 'Microwave' because it was always cooking the paper. My computer sometimes forgets that my camera dock is there. [jewelenterprises]

in my family we used to have 1 desktop in our house. that was when the use of computer was still new to us kids. but as time went by we started to use the computer for homeworks, research and use the internet a lot. we are 3 siblings and we have homework everyday, a lot of homework. there were times that we would fight over who gets to use the computer and how long we use it for. 1 computer and 3 siblings + my dads request for a few typing of his papers and 1 printer i get tired and frustrated sometimes. lol.. its only when we were probably in our last years of highschool and going to college that we had laptops. my dad bought one but i ended up using it. so me and my sister shared it and he bought another. but i ended up borrowing it again since my sister keeps using it. lol. so lastly my dad was given a laptop. hehehe.. so now we have 3 laptops and a desktop. but the desktop isnt working and i'll probably have it fixed and my father is going to use it in his office where he works. my brother seldom uses the computer so he uses my laptop or my sisters. and the internet i recently had it on wi-fi so that we could use it around the house. which actually works for everyone because were mostly online at night when we get back from our days out of the house. we get to do research at the same time and not bother anyone else. [katbalu102]
These days it's usually cheaper to replace a broke down computer rather than fixing it... unless it's something simple like the power supply. Whenever we upgrade a computer and throw one away we usually grab the power supply and hard drive out of it first... just in case we have problems with another one and need a new one The last pc we replaced had the same type of ram as mine so we extended my ram because I wanted more but it was hard to find and very expensive. [jewelenterprises]

Lets see here too many if you want my personal opinion, but sometimes its good to have more than one computer We have 2 desktops, 1 laptop, 4 sun computers, and 2 raids that are not put together. With my husband being into computers and into networking I have to say right now that I have gotten used to some of it, although its not my favorite thing to collect. And he has his work laptop as well, so that is another one even though it is not technically our. Mooch [oneandonemakesix]
LOL, that sounds like quite a clutter mooch. Though I've never heard of a sun computer or a raid computer. What the heck are they? [jewelenterprises]

I have just one laptop at home and thats it. Its an old Dell laptop and I desperately need to buy a new one! [pitstop]
I generally upgrade mine every three or four years. My partner usually gets the new one, I get my partners and mine goes to our daughter. Our daughters one usually gets stripped of any usable parts like hard drive, CDROM and power supply. Or it gets given to a friend who builds computers. [jewelenterprises]

It's a good survey. Currently, my family is only one, which I am using it. My parents can't use computer, so if the computer putting in front of them, they don't know how to do it. I am still single. Maybe there will be two if I get married. One is for me, the other one is for my wife. I will not give my child a personal computer as he is too young, sitting front computer for a long time, it's bad for his eyes. Child need to play outside with his friends. I will teach my child step by step in future. [fenicliu]
My daughter gets plenty of excercise but I also think it's beneficial for her to be exposed to the computer since so much revolves around computing these days. [jewelenterprises]

I have three computers at home and very handy they are to. Upstairs I have the two desktops which are my main workhorses. Then downstairs I use my laptop mainly for my ptc sites that just need clicking to earn money from. Have a great day from Deeekyhappy [deeeky]
Thanks deeky. I'm the only person who does actual work on their computer in this house. I'd love to have a laptop for business purposes and just use this computer for everything else. [jewelenterprises]

we i have one computer and a laptop. my parents use the computer for their office work, but it is rarely used because my parents have this of 'no bringing of work at home' policy, unless it is really needed. i have a windows based laptop used basically for schoolwork, research and surfing the net. I'd like to have a macbook too, but it is quite expensive from where i come from so i'm happy with my compaq laptop. My elder sister used to have her own computer, but since she got married, she took it with her to her new home. the computer is inside my parents' room, while my laptop is in my room. the pc and laptop share the internet connection via a network, but since my parents rarely use their computer, the internet connection is technically mine for most of the time. though my parents do wonder what i do all the time i'm using the internet, i tell them that i try to earn money via the net and surf it at the same time ;) [underthesun21]
If you want a macbook, why don't you try going directly to http://www.apple.com and ordering it from them... you might find the price is cheaper. It's still about $500 more than other laptops but getting it direct is often better than buying from a reseller. [jewelenterprises]

I have my own computer in my room (desktop) and then my dad has a laptop. i also have a laptop but its so old and doesn't really work so i just recently gave it to my niece to play with. We have high speed (cable modem) i have a wireless router hooked up to it so everything we have that uses the net (computers, xbox live) uses the same net. [sameroad]
It's great when you can share an internet connection... makes it so much simpler. [jewelenterprises]

hi jewel, your question seems for those who has children, well i myself am a child, am 18 years old, my computer is in my room. there is one computer in our house, only mine, because my older sister and my mom are not interested in computers, i have younger sister, she's 4, so she couldn't probably get one, am the only one with the computer access and internet too, i have my own internet connection, i pay the internet fee myself, in the future i will have more computers in my home lol, i was just imagining that you are using your bedroom desktop computer to write this discussion lol, anyways happy mylotting!! [gmwgreat]
Wish I could be in the bedroom doing this discussion... but no, my computer is in the home office and I don't have a laptop as yet. I will have one though. Strange that your mum and sister aren't interested though... most people seem to want a computer... oh well, to each his own. [jewelenterprises]

One desktop at home and one laptop with me... [amit8sinha]
That's another reason I'd love a laptop... just being able to take it with me and work while I'm away from home during my work lunch break or whatever. [jewelenterprises]

We have three computers in our house. I have a desktop in our office. My husband has a laptop and our kids have a desktop in their playroom. All our computers share the same internet connection. I also use my husband's laptop at night. My husband isn't much into computers but needs a laptop for work so he spends a lot of time watching tv in the bedroom. So I use his laptop in the bedroom so we can be together. [InvestigatorDee]
Awww, that's sweet Dee. Even though you may not be talking that much at least you are together. My partner and I are usually on the computers together. [jewelenterprises]

Got three computers at home at the moment, but we often just use two of them:) [shaara]
My daughters computer is the one that gets used the least because she's at school five days and a lot of the time she's at home she's playing outside or else watching DVDs [jewelenterprises]

All in all there are a total of 7 computers in my house! My boyfriend has his own laptop, I bought a Sony desktop for my mum so she can learn how to email and surf the net, and the other 5 belong to me! I know, it's pretty excessive! I mainly use my MacBook and iMac but I have a Toshiba laptop running Windows as a backup. The other 2 laptops are now redundant and will be sold off as second hand. If you can, try and treat yourself to a MacBook - you'll love it! I was a Windows user for a long, long time and after using a Mac I've never looked back. All the computers in the house share the same internet connection. [podqueen]
Whoa, five computers for one person lol That is just a little excessive. Oh well, you did say you were going to sell two of them. [jewelenterprises]

Hi jewelenterprises, I have 1 laptop and 1 desktop computer. [kamil_bor]
I really think a laptop would come in handy since I can take it out with me or move around the house and get some peace in the bedroom to work. [jewelenterprises]

I have 1 desktop at home and we all use our own passworded desk tops, but I monitor what other hosehold members are doing as far as sites visited. My son loves to play jumpstart. [kriketlynn]
I don't know if it's the same thing but my daughter has a couple of jumpstart program. She's got jumpstart artist and jumpstart animals. She got them both free with a McHappy meal at McDonalds. [jewelenterprises]

I use a personal computer and only one. My parents don't know how to work on these "things" so that leaves me... using it all alone. I don't need two computers? Why would I? It's a waste of space and money if you ask me. Why would I need a second computer when this one is working just fine and I had no problems with it? Plus I like to share :D [DarkAng3L]
The main reason I want a macbook is so I can work on my online business away from the distractions. Also, if I used it solely for business it would be a tax break. [jewelenterprises]

we have two computers at home... one is my hubby's desktop and one is my laptop... we can't possibly only have one computer and share it because we always use our computer together at the same time... also, we all have our own things to do on the internet... so i'm really glad that we have a computer each on our own... [lingli_78]
You could sit on hubby's lap lol That would be nice and cosy. Though it would cramp your surfing style. [jewelenterprises]

I personally have a laptop, and the family shares a desk top. More for convenience rather than to keep an eye on everyone. My Dad couldn't compute to save his life, Mom uses it to work, my little brother only plays games, and I do different varied things which no one else here really cares about lol. So the desktop gets more use. [xParanoiax]
Mostly surveys, paid to read sites/emails, and she creates resumes and stuff for work, she does ALOT on the computer every day 'cause we're always pressed for money and every little bit counts. I love having my own laptop, but I haven't been able to afford a router so that I can use it any time I want on wifi, heh. [xParanoiax]

I have one desktop in my bedroom. As I live on my own,it's good enough for me to have my own computer and is connected. If I have kids,I will allow them to have their own computer. But I will put it in a communal area where I can keep an eye on them. You know,we have to look out for them, protect them harmful information.Kids are too yough to indentify things. [gxnfly]
Yes, there are a lot of dangers on the internet, especially for young, inexperienced people. That's why I wouldn't allow my daughter to have her computer in her room. It's too hard to watch her from there. She's not doing dangerous stuff yet (like chatting) but the time will come when she is... and occasionally I do see nasties pop up on her computer. [jewelenterprises]

Me and my brother is having separate computers. he has desktop and i have laptop. As he is taking education, he stays in a hostel. So we dont have other option but to have separate computers. I most often keep on changing my places so i prefer to have laptop. [kriskhedkar]
I think the portability of the laptop is the best thing with it. I could take it to my workplace and do some of my online work during my lunchbreak. [jewelenterprises]

Hey there we have 2 computers as my sister also has one [loveyoohbaby]
I think it's especially important for young people to have access to a computer these days. So much focus in education is on computers. [jewelenterprises]

well we have 4 computers one lap top which is mine which i bought off ebay i have one regular computer my roommate has 2 my kids use my regular one i wouldnt allow them to use a computer in the room i like them to be monitered [carolluvyou]
Precisely, it's too difficult to monitor your kids internet activity if they are in their room. [jewelenterprises]

We have four computers altogether at our house. We have 3 laptops and one desktop. Only two of the computers (laptops) get used. The desktop hasn't been touched in over a year. My husband uses the laptop that his work gave him and I use the one that I am typing on now. [moneyandgc]
Sounds like you could get away with selling the desktop at least. It appears that the laptops are preferred in your house. [jewelenterprises]

We have three computers in our apartment: a desktop, which I use the most; my laptop; and my fiance's laptop. At one point in time, we actually had five computers in the apartment (2 desktops and 3 laptops) even with only two of us living here! When I was growing up, we also had a lot of computers. My youngest sister was born in 1984, and that was the year my dad bought our sixth computer. :) [scarywhitegirl]
Holy moly... I didn't have a computer at all until 1993... and was a complete technophobe at the time I might add lol Just checked your profile... figured you must be in the US and I was right. I guess computing took off faster there than here in Australia. Then again, I've never been a person that has jumped on the technology bandwagon the minute it's become popular either... I don't even own an mp3 player. [jewelenterprises]

I am single and I have one laptop few months ago,So when I am free I will on,but my family dont have computers yet, thanks&take care [Petercheung]
It looks like about 90% of us have more than one computer... but there are still a few who only have the one. But then, if you have a laptop you don't really need a desktop because it can be placed on the desk anyway... unless like me you want two computers to use for different purposes like business and leisure. [jewelenterprises]

We only have one personal computer at home. It was in my aunt's house. But I'm thinking of actually getting one or a laptop once me and my hubby moved in to our apartment. [reejane]
I remember one time I was computerless... just after I broke up with my husband and he took the computer. I couldn't handle it so I ended up at an internet cafe using theirs lol [jewelenterprises]

Hello jewelenterprises Every member of our family has a computer. All three of my boys have their own and my spouse and I each have one as well. We are all on a wireless network. It is not uncommon to see us all on the computer at the same time, lost in our own little worlds. My children often play World of Warcraft together and it's fun to watch them doing this. My children's computers are all in a communal area and the whole family is often in that room together. [Transdisc]
Oh gosh yes... world of warcraft. My 15 year old son loves that game. The other one he likes is 'Maple' kind of an online, multiplayer arcade game. [jewelenterprises]

We have 5 computers. One of which is a laptop and on is actually my 18yr old son's...whom is bought himself. The laptop that I am currently on is actually my partner's. But he seldom ever powers it on. So, I have staked claim to it on a more regular basis. Why not? It would just gather dust otherwise. Then there is my desktop that I purchased 5 years ago...is is still pretty good. But something happened and it needed some new part. But I thought it was a over-sized paperweight and we purchased another. Two weeks later...and my partner's feeling of being the King of computer repairs...my old computer has now become the computer for the kids and whatever else it is needed for. But having seven children...there is no way I could afford at this point for everyone to have their own computer. And as for networks...we have a router that allows wireless and direct lines. So, the laptops work great...but not the printers that are supposed to be wireless. I am still trying to figure out that one. ha ha Oh! And all desktops are kept in one room so that I am able to better control that sites they go to and time spent. I do not allow them to do nothing but games their lives away. [brokentia]
We fixed the printer problem on ours by having it installed on only one computer but shared via the network... maybe you could try that instead. I can understand not being able to afford computers for seven kids. But computers seem to collect as you upgrade you can spread them around. [jewelenterprises]

Hey! There's three computers in our house. Two desktops, one in my room, one in the family room, and the third is a laptop. They all run on Windows XP. No, they aren't on a network so no network on internet and no network printer. Sony is my first desktop, the other is by HP, and the laptop is Toshiba. My color laser printer is by Samsung, my other lasers are by HP and Brother (the Brother includes fax, copier and scanner). I have inkjet (no in use) which is by Lexmark (which includes a scanner and fax). There are no kids in the home, so not it's not necessary to kid-proof all of them. Yes, all the equipment is used for educational or pleasure purposes, hardly any of it is used for business (work). Thanks for asking. Pablo [callarse1]
We only have the one printer. One of the computers is set up as the 'host' computer and the network runs through that (except for the modem) so the printer is installed on that one and accessed through the network... it's easier and far less cluttered than having three printers. Oh, and it's a lexmark by the way.. P707 model including slots for memory cards to use with photo printing. [jewelenterprises]

I have many friends who have one desktop and one laptop. But I have only one desktop. I am satisfied with my desktop. I use it to play games, surf the net, listen to the music. I have my desktop for about 3 years. It has not given any problem till now. [siriya]
Yeah, I usually find that most computers last 4-5 years before they start playing up a bit. I don't generally bother to update them though. I'd rather upgrade the whole computer and get the newer technology. [jewelenterprises]

i live alone so i own only one computers at home. i have plan to acquire a laptop for my business transaction so that wherever i go i can make business. I missed mylot if i'm not home so if i have laptop even i'm on vacation still i can participate here. [julyteen]
I can see myself sitting at work engaging in mylot discussions during my lunch break LOL... only when I've got my laptop of course. I'd look a bit silly carrying my desktop around don't you think? [jewelenterprises]

i am having 2 pc and 1 Laptop. Desktop don't share the Net but my mai nDesktop and Laptop do!! [deshabhishek007]
Personally, I'm so accustomed with the computer having internet that I really can't see much point in having one without it. I got my first PC in 1993 but didn't have internet till two years later so now I've been cruising the net for 13 years... holy moly, I think I'm showing my age LOL. blush [jewelenterprises]

Just the one I'm afraid and my wife and I share it. I just saw an item on tv though that suggested we will all use our tv's as the main computer soon with everything hooked into it including your household appliances. What will happen to the people that can't even start the microwave? [rovermadman]
LOL, sometimes you need a uni degree just to operate a microwave rover... with everything linked together just imagine how confusing it would be. Have you seen those LG refrigerators that have a built in TV/computer screen with internet? [jewelenterprises]
