I am working as a medical transcriptionist. So my work is in front of the computer. How many hours do you speind in front of the computer during a day? I tries to take frequent breaks in between hours. Do you take frequent breaks in between hours?

Well when i sit in front of the computer .. i loose the sense of time and place while browsing the net .. I think you will agree with me.. Computer kill too much time .. 2-4 hours only. My eyes gets tired when I am in front of computer for almost 5 hours. When I feel sleepy, I just put my laptop standby mode and I will check it tomorrow morning. If I am tired and feel like hungry I just take some breaks like eating or drinking and even taking some naps between intervals of hours doing my work in computer. [mialei23]

Even thought I keep a clock next time me so I can see it while working on my computer. I tend to spend a-lot of time in-front of the computer. I'd say about 6 or so hours average. But seeing as my job and hobbies are both on the computer it is no wonder that I am always in-front of the computer. [vinceclipse]

Well, As a Software Engineer, I have to sit minimum 8 hours per day.So its must for me. But some times it cross due to my chat.So only the thing is I need to take care of my eyes. I wash my face frequently with ice water,and keep doing here and there except computer for every half an hour. well i just finished my a level exams so i have a bunch of free time on my hands while i look for a job and i spend almost all day infront of the computer and if no one else in my family wants to use the computer i would spend all night on it too! i dont usually take frequent breaks but i do take breaks. i'm usually on the computer and doing something else at the same time. I'm at TAFE (Institute of Technical and Further Education) studying full time in IT. Some of those days are spent using a computer all day and some are spent learning about them or pulling them apart. When I come home, I am either completing assignments on the computer or doing things like myLot. At TAFE we have a break every 2 hours but at home I can easily sit here for 4-6 hours straight. I spend a lot a lot of time in front of the computer. Especially during the holidays. During the holidays I average 13 hours in front of the computer. Of course some days when I got out with friends then I wont be using the computer for the whole day. I must admit that I spend too many hours in front of my computer! I turn it on when my husband and children are off to work or school and turn it off when I go to bed. lol I guess most of us are in jobs that uses the computer some how. For me, my job deals mainly with computer. So that makes it an easy 9-10 hours a day in front of the computer screen. Out side of work, I used to surf another few more hours at home. But ever since I got my own home, I have been kept busy with chores and other what-nots. I spend to many at times. lol If it is really, really hot out in the summer I have to stay inside because of medication that effects me really bad in the heat. Now in the winter, I can't take the cold, so I am on a lot then also. I get on after I have let the dogs out in the morning and feed them, then it is computer time for a few hours until everyone wakes up or if I have an appointment. I am a homemaker and probably spend too much time on the computer. I to Mylot and other survey places which takes time. I also maintain a blog and a big web site. I have lots of friends on the Internet and we email lots about our families and other things. I also love to play games. I will get up in the morning, turn on my laptop and check my email. I eat breakfast, wash dishes, and get back on the computer. I do get up frequently doing other things in the house or washing clothes. I will sometimes just lean back and take a nap or perhaps turn on the television to watch the news or another program. Sometimes, like now, I am using my computer and watching television. I would LOVE to do medical transcription from home. I've been looking for weeks for a job I can do from my home office. I've done the work in the past, but I don't have training for it and these days everyone wants speed and formal training. As for hours - lately more than usual because I'm looking for a job. I have no idea how long I spend in front of the computer. I really do not keep count. I do have a timer, but sometimes I forget to put it on and it seems that I am always getting up when I am myLotting, since there is always something interesting going on. I have to figure it out. I get up at 7:30 and am on the computer, read the bible, and work until eight then have breakfast. So from 9 to 10 I am working on the computer, equals now 1 and one half hour. I take a walk, then am on about two or three hours for the rest of the day. You see what I am getting at? I do not punch a time card so I do not have the slightest idea whether today I will work four hours, or tomorrow three, or Friday I worked five hours on the computer. It varies.
