How Many Personal Computer Do You Have At Home

Well at home we have three personal computer, One is in my brother room, the other one is in the kitchen, and the other one is in my room. We use it everyday. My friends told me why we have so many computers, for some they have only one computer at home. I told her because we dont like to wait for our turn to use the computer for we always quarrel about it. when we have our own income we buy our own thing. My nephews like to come with us every weekend just to play computer games online. Now i am planning to buy a laptop so i can carry it everywhere. But my sister insisted it is a waste of money for we have many computer already.happy

Actually, I am a writer and small publisher. So I suppose I have a good excuse for owning so many Macs. I have three desktop computers, two IMacs and a Power Macintosh G3. I also own two Pismo laptops, a 500 mhz I use for the internet and a 400 mhz I have been meaning to put on Ebay. I have in my home two Powerbook Wallstreet laptops that I use for writing articles and typing ads. And at my sister's house (She helps me in my publishing enterprise), there are also two Wallstreet Powerbooks, one for the internet, and the other for typing ads and printing out to the HP Laserjet 6mp (it has a serial port which only the Wallstreet accomodates). Actually sometimes I have two or three computers going at once, or at least ready in sleep mode. It reminds me of my two TV's, one in the living room (on during all my waking moments) and the tiny one in my office (on when I want to be sure to hear every word O'Reilly speaks). I used to have a TV in the bedroom that often worked through the night. But the lightning got at least two of those and I decided to try and sleep, instead of keeping part of my brain awake and subject to so much unconscious suggestion. I have not replaced my bedroom TV. Instead I listen to teaching tapes on CD, Bill Winston, Andrew Wommack, Kenneth Copeland, Keith Moore, and Kenneth E. Hagin, among others. [Spiritlife]

I never thought I would have so many. I have an obsolet laptop that I use only from time to time as word processor, another laptop for professional use only, and old desktop but still in use which is our current family computer, and one more CPU ready, not new but a bit better than this one ready to substitu this computer the day it dies. Hello Margarit, We used to have three computers and a laptop at home for we have an internet cafe before. And when we closed it, we sale the others, donate and brought home two. But since our electric bill is getting higher, we decided to use one computer and a laptop to minimize our consumption. A personal computer in the kitchen!! Wow.. I am surprised. Why would one require a pc in the kitchen? Infact, y would onre require more than one pc at home? Anyway, it was in the year 1999 when my brother bought a computer for the first time. It was a P-II. Later when i moved out of my home for further studies and came into college, I asked for a PC. So my brother bought a new P-IV Pc for himself and handed that upgraded P-III pc to me. And finally when he left India and went abroad, I had that P-IV pc with me in college. Right now, i work in a different city and i don't have a pc with me!! Both the pcs that i talked about are there at my hometown, one in my room and the other one at my father's shop. He is learning computer these days. My sister-in-law has bought a laptop but i don't stay with her. Hmm, we have 2 PC and one acer laptop/notebook in our home. One PC is in the living room downstairs and the other one is in my room, while the laptop is my sister's. Hi Margarit, In my house currently i have 1 PC and 1 laptop. My wife will use the PC all the time for checking emails, search through internet on cupcakes info as she have started her cupcakes business (as I stated under my profile). For me, i will use my laptop for work or job related activities. You are right that laptop will provide you mobility but don't forget it still need power, thus you also need to bring along the cable. lol [adriantys78]

At the moment, four. We have multiple personal computers and, in the past we have had even more. I tend not to throw away old computers. So they, and their pieces, tend to hang around my house just in case they might one day be needed. At the moment, I should probably say good bye to two computers. However, that also means I should probably buy one more new computer and shift the others down in the order. I want a computer in my TV room where we can work or Mylot to our heart's content while watching TV or otherwise chatting with each other. Our current computer cannot, however, hook up to our TV and record programs for us. I should buy a card and stuff it into that computer. When it came to us, it was installed with Microsoft's Media Center edition of their Operating System. It has the ability to record TV, but has never been used for that purpose. It would be nice to use the computer as a sort of personal digital video recorder. I want a computer downstairs. The downstairs computer is useful as a backup in case the first computer has a problem. However, I also use it with a webcam to keep an eye on my daughter and her friends as they play in the basement. It helps to keep the kids in line if they think I can be watching them at any moment. At least, it is my perception that it helps. It is also nice to turn on the webcam and let my daughter's grandmother, who lives farther way, chat with her when she so desires. I also want a computer for my daughter. I used to have one in the TV room, an old dinosaur of a laptop. It really didn't run much in the way of programs, but it was there and she could draw on it. At one point, I had TuxPaint installed on it and when my delightful daughter saved her pictures, they went to a networked folder on the house where I could grab them, process them into a slide show, and import them to my cell phone. Even today, the front screen of my cell phone rotates through her artistic creations. That dinosaur has been retired, however. I also have an old Mac computer which sits in my daughter's room as a DVD player or a CD player. It does have two games on it, but nothing much of interest. It is no longer even wired to the Internet. I think I should get a better computer for my daughter to use. I'm not sure I can fit a full sized computer in her room, however. It is a tight space. The iMac that sits there is a monitor/computer fusion and the size seems to work well where it's placed. Then, I have a laptop computer which goes with me to work. There, I can read up on news stories, MyLot, or compose email. These are things that I enjoy and I certainly prefer to do them from my own computer instead of using Work's machine. Privacy issues, and all. Conclusion: My house has a glut of computers and I probably suck down a considerable amount in electricity to run them. We have three computers in our home. I own a Dell laptop, my daughter owns a Dell laptop and I have a Dell desktop in my den. I no longer use the one in my den, it is just there for my modem and router. I want to get rid of it but have not taken the time to figure out how to connect without it. I can then give it to someone who needs a computer as it is in great condition but 4 years old, so it is slower than our laptops. I used it more when I had my own business. I gave my business computer to my mother. She always gets my old ones when I upgrade. It was the same as the one I have in my den. It would be one less to dust!! LOL [nanajanet]

I have 2 at home. A desktop and a laptop. I use the laptop for school so i'm on that one the most. Plus i work on computers all day long so i try not to spend all my time on a computer when i get home. I spend time with my kid and my wife instead even if it's watching TV. well i just got divorced so my network is a little small..... ;) i live alone but, got my own pc on my desk , a server in a closet, one file server in the same closet, one amiga 2000 (for when i am in the mood)under my bed, one autosurf pc in that same closet, one laptop next to the couch, one pc for my 3 year old son to play with in his room, and two pc's for when my friends come over so we can play lan games in the comfort of my house both og them are located next to the other couch ( in cause old systems count i've also got a commodore 64 and a 128 so i've got nine pc's i lost an other five in the divorce. Yes I agree with you that personal computers are to be used personally and not by everybody. And we cannot wait for our turn to use the computer, it is going to be a waste of time and effort on other things. Time is very precious so it is better that we purchase our own personal computers when we have our own money. I have a laptop in my house and one computer in my office. So whenever I come home I will bring my laptop with me so that I can do whatever I want if I am at home. As for your nephew maybe you just tell him to buy his own computer.
