How much time do you spend on the computer during a typical day? And, how much time is too much?
I'm usually on the computer about 8 hours, though it isn't just sitting at the computer. I get up and do laundry and clean the house. I never thought much about it until yesterday when I realized how fast the summer has gone. I wonder if I'm on to much, or if others are on this much. Let me know your thoughts on this, please.

Hi, I'm on the computer 95% of the time I am awake. w00t Granted, just like you, I do sometimes leave my chair to do laundry, load the dishwasher, cook dinner, get something to eat or drink (I do eat at the computer though lol) let my dogs in and out, usual stuff. i spend the whole day with my computer because i have lots of works on it aside from online works like myLotting. i download musics for ipods, iphones and cellphones. lots of customers will come to my shop everyday. i am very expose to computer for the whole day and sometimes i end up up to 3-4am in the morning to do some stuff online like clicking ads on my different ptc programs. Hi, Sherry, I spend about 6 hours on my home computer and about 8 hours on a computer at work, so about 14 hours per day. At home, I am usually surfing the web or on mylot, or researching family tree. You're on the computer too much only when you begin to notice that you are missing out on family and life. Only you can decide. (and if you can't, then there might be a problem) My wife says I'm addicted. I do not have a laptop, so when we travel, yes, I miss not being on-line. Well Sherry, I turn my computer on when I get up of the mornings and then do my housework and when I take breaks I come back to my computer and get back to work. This is an all day process. So I don't now how long I am on the computer through the day. I usually don't turn it off until 8 or 9 at night. But am running back and forth, back and forth. Well i am not well nowdays so am always on the computer.i mean only when i am not sleeping i am here. I am always here. its actually more 14 hrs or something . I keep on playing games or am on ptcs or here on mylot. I really dont mind being on mylot the entire day. Its fun and you even get paid for being here. SO i think thats the best aprt about it. i spend a far bit of time on the computer. i do my crafts with the computer, i check email. i talk to people on messenger. messenger is handy to keep in touch with my dad with him being so far away, its much cheaper than calling long distance on the phone, but most of my time on the computer is after supper time. by then i'm done everything i need to do for the day and its my time to try and wind down before doing to bed. I am a working 9 hours in front of the computer. Only few breaks such as 2 15 minutes break. And sometimes I dont consume it. I had experienced being in front for about 2 days straight. approximately 45 hours, when we got overtime office work. [aRiSdGrEaT]

I know that I spend at least 5-8 hours a day off and on. Then there are days that I'm not on at all then. Then there are times when I don't even think that I'm on more that 2-3 hours. I'd say about 8-10 hours a day when I am working, but then I watch movies on the PC and don't watch television. So my times include the average persons TV and computer time. This is because i like surfing and socialize in the internet communities. Partly because i have my own website that needs to update the latest posts and responses to comments, and also driving traffics to my website. Of course, we have to take care of our eyes. I think that if our weather had been better, and we had a really nice summer then I would not be spending this much time on here, but our summer has been non existent! Oh, I can easily spend about 6 hrs. on the computer a day. Sometimes I don't get my chores done for that day..lol. The time goes by so fast, that you don't even realize how long you've been on the computer. I do get up to stretch my legs or like you, I may go do a load of laundry or something. I don't think there is a set time amount considered too much time on the computer. I spend a lot of time on the computer doing surveys, downloading music, e-mails etc. I think it becomes too much time when the computer has taken completely over your life. I mean when it gets detrimental to your health and the health of your relationships. I thought I read somewhere that someone sat at the computer so long that it killed them. Something about blood circulation. I think that would be considered too much time at the computer. [mlh8087]
I'm the same; if I'm not out doing things then I'm in the house on the internet and doing other stuff in between. I just like all the sites I've come across in the last month or so since I joined myLot. Also, all the friends I've made! I've found that there's a certain point quite late at night when some of my favourite myLot friends are all online and we all get quite quick threads developing within each others' discussions. A lot of how much time I spend on the computer depends on if I am working or not, and how much I have to do around the house. When I am working, I maybe spend an hour on the computer before work, just checking e-mail and answering anything that is an absolute necessity. (Kind of hard to function on anything at 4:30am). I may get on some more after I get home from work, before I start doing stuff around the house. When I don't have to work, I tend to spend more time online, but not all at one shot. [cjmobxnc]

hi, hello sherry12 everyday i open my computer i always doing this everyday. when i wake up in the morning i take a breakfast then i open my computer is almost 4 hours i open my computer in 8am and i will off my computer in 12:00pm lunch time then after 2 hour is 2pm i open again my computer and i will turn off my computer in 4 afternoon is almost 3 hours in calculation is 7 hours a day i spent in my computer.. this is everyday i am doing?.. nothing chance i always doing this everyday? I spend at least 8 hours in front of the computer at work, and another 4 to 6 hours at home. So that means I spend 12 to 14 hours a day, sitting in front of the computer, either working or surfing the internet or posting in my blogs. Even on Sunday, I'll spend at least 6 hours on my PC. To me, 8 hours is just normal. But I know it wouldn't do our back any good to sit for too long while using the PC. Sometimes I have backache. My neck feels tense. I do spend a good time on the computer daily much of the time in office and some time at home too. At home it is mainly for earning online and at office it is purely business. How much time I spend on the computer during a typical day varies. If we are talking about during the week it is anywhere from about 2-9 hours. I am not sitting at the computer for that amount of time in a row though. Its usually twenty minutes here, an hour there, two minutes now and then to look things up. On I could not even begin to guess how long I am actually on the computer during the weekends. It is on all day and I go to it whenever and for however long. I am not sure what is too much but I am sure that I spend too much time at the computer. [razcal2267]
