Boy mine is! I have organized chaos. I know where everything is in my mess. I can lay my hands on everything I need in a second, but no one else would be able to find anything. I do need to take time to reorganize my desk, but I never seem to have the time.
I have my date calandar, my Halley's Hand Book for studying the bible; I've got post its all over, copies of invoices laying up on top of my junk drawer. I have my camera that doesn't work half the time, and my calculator and stapler out on top. I have this little organizer thing with 3 drawers on top filled with check book and manuscripts, and envelopes and all manner of stuff. I have reading glasses, pens, glue stick and just everything lying around. I think I need to take a few minutes to make some kind of order here, but then will I be able to find what I need when I need it? What a dilemma! So what does your desk look like? Do you earn your living at your desk, where you have to have things where you can quickly find them?

Mine isn't so bad that things fall to the floor... but for a while I had my music keyboard on here too and my typing keyboard was on top of that. Boy howdy! My stuff was really cluttered then. Mine is a mess too. I am not very good in organizing stuff so I leave everything on the computer desk. It is a mess of papers, glues, two pares of scissors, some old newspapers and school books. I think the saying goes untidy desk, tidy mind! I used to have a door plaque saying 'Welcome To Organized Chaos' on my door to my office! Sadly I lost it but that would be apt for me. My desk is always a clutter, I do try to tidy it up but when I do I can't find anything! I like it cluttered, it looks like I've got lots of work to do and it's a sign of importance too! Pens everywhere, paperwork, diary, phone you name it it's on the desk but easily within reach should I need them! [wolfie34]

To me my desk is not a mess. Like you, I know where everything is. No one that uses the computers I do needs to use anything but the computer itself. If they do not like they way I keep things they can go elsewhere. [razcal2267]

I have my printer and on it, some pages from my Italian learning course, various statements papers and a booklet from my Woman's Society. To my left beside my monitor I have papers, a couple of note pads, a couple of grammar book, a page of my family history, a few Rogers Cellphone pamphlets, a couple of photos, and various sundry items. I really should sort them, but there is no other place to put them. I have a very small computer room and we have two computers. I earn my living on the computer and I need to have everything where I can get hold of it. Oh and do not look around the back of my monitor. It is just as bad. [suspenseful]

Honey, My computer dest is anywhere I happen to sit or law. I drag my laptop all over the house with me. I am not very organized either so when I had a computer table it was a mess! I would clear it off once a week and it looked like it wasn't cleared in months.. xoxoxoxo [raydene]

I'm the same way. I can find it but no one else can! About once a week or every other week...okay I admit it - every other week to every 3 weeks... I'll clean it up and often it turns out that my "to do" notes, just get dumped as I have already done them and just didn't throw the note away! I have stacks for each thing - to do now, to do later, to do by end of week, to do when I get time. I have tablets for each online venture I do and try to make sure notes I take or things to remember is in that tablet and not in one of the stacks, although I tend to forget if it not in a stack for me to see.I am a visual person. Out of sight, out of mind is my worst enemy! Amazing that I can keep it all straight. But I do, guess there is a method to my madness afterall! [coffeebreak]
Now you have a lot more than I do. I need to do those to do list thingeys but I never do. I try to remember. Maybe I should try doing that, I would be more productive than I am. I used to keep a tablet for the different sites I went to. I kept up with my user name and passwords and things like that. I don't do much anymore, other than writing and mylot. I don't do anymore click sites or anything like that anymore I am just way too busy. I have to keep paper out and the calculator and stuff for conversations from metric to standard units or vise versa, depending on if I am doing UK or US English. When I use to work for years before I became disabled my computer desk at work was alway spotless, at home is another story. My computer is always a mess no matter how many times I clean it up! I am just thankful it is stored behind closed doors. [kimlot]

I know where stuff is on my computer desk. But my husband does our budget and he hates it when theres stuff all over it, which is 99% of the time. I clean it off, but it only stays clean until I get something out to work on. Then I leave it out because the kids need something and I'm not finished and I'm just sure I'll get back to it to finish it up (doesn't seem to happen). So it's always a mess. Boy is it ever a mess!! The one thing that we have noticed is when my life is feeling chaotic my desk takes the hit. However when I'm feeling good my desk is spotless. Go figure. What does it look like today....a happy medium. It certainly isn't clean however the piles are a bit neater. [boppiedog]

Mine too is a mess. However, only half of it is an organized mess! The stuff in front of me is an organized mess...know where and what it is. haha this is a very good question. My answer is technically no. this is because i have a laptop and therfore do not have a computer desk. I use my computer mostly in my bed. My bed is usually I mess I guess because I don't make it. But its just blankets and a few pillows [Monkeyrose]

My desk is organized - I can't work in clutter! My computer desk is a mess. I can clean it up and before the day is through it is a mess again. It is not just my stuff. My daughter uses the computer and puts her things on the desk. I can understand that. When you have to share a computer it can get messy with everyone's stuff. I have my own computer, but my daughter's computer is temporarily off line until we get another router. The darn dog chewed the cord to the router. omg mine is like a hell hole because i do ebay and i have all kinds of paperwork sitting all around it and damn it is messyy. ebay is a lot harder than the comercials and other people make it look because it is more than just putting up an item and selling it there is a lot of networking and stuff involved in it so of course my desk is going to be a mess because my desk is like walking through hurricane katrina right now [alangardner]

You said it! My computer desk looks like a jungle with all the papers, trinkets and toys that my little boy often brings in when he decides to sit with mommy at the computer table. But I have to say that I feel much more comfortable in this tiny study in my apartment as it doesn't make me feel as cold as in my bedroom while I am using the computer and my heater is more effective in the study. i don't really have a desk at home. i bought a table for myself but it ended up being used as the living room table and you can find there magazines, photo albums, newspapers and other paper trash of my nieces. i cleaned it out recently though and put it beside our stairs and put in it our Christmas tree. ^__^ my computer desk meanwhile is clean. you can't find anything on it other than magazines i put on top of the cloth i used to cover the desk. ^__^ [secretbear]
