Hi, well commenting this would just add up to your e-mail for you to read. Joke. Just calm down, you might get heart attacked and if you destroyed you computer you might just pay what you have earned for the repairs. Just say wooosaaahhh..lol keep you cool..surrendersurrendersurrender [remembered]
That's okay at least I am notified that I received your response.. [kent_help2smile]

HI Kent! I know exactly!! It is the most frustrating system I have at home also. Extremely slow! It takes forever to just get a response loaded here and sometimes it quits outright and I have lost the post.grrr. I also try hard to remember to copy everything in this event, now. I would love to be able to afford better systems and speed but already it is so expensive, so no can do. 10 minutes sounds right and then I loose it or it just says frozen.. I also have Norton 2010 running which makes this baby just groan and hum a sickening tune..wooHOOOOO WOOOOOhoooo MMMMMMMM.. I wish I had a massive 'babe' like at my work desk. Lots of it is becuase of Norton running too I think, but I HAVE to have it running. Have you got a virus program continuously running in the background also? [fjaril]

So, have you found where is the problem is it your computer or is it the connection... I also having that kind of trouble in loading some pages in my internet and it pissed me off all the time that I almost throw my $50 wireless mouse lol. Isn't it funny we blame those poor gadgets or PC of us because of that poor connection of our ISP. [newuserptc]

I get irritated with that kind of problem too. I do not like to wait! I just cant! and with your problem, try restarting your modem or router. It might help! [usamietihsia]

Ha Ha.Is your connection is right now.Or are you again got stucked. [assadi]

You have so many messages to read. I hope it speeds up its processing so you can work as fast as you want to. Sometimes the computer does these things and it can be annoying. Even if you try to open a new window that is slow too. Take a break and stretch your fingers. It's good for your hands to take the time and take a break. [sofmap]
I just open my PC again. I already have 299 unread email plus the email that I already read but not yet responding to mylot.. [kent_help2smile]

Hello kent, may be the network was in trouble for a moment [PRAMBANAN]

If your DSL speed is much slower than usual, I would recommend you to contact your ISP for any queries and I think there would have been a TRAFFIC JAM in the internet usage! I think opening your mylot page will take more time than opening your mail! [kar295rocks]

Call your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Perhaps THEY can fix the trouble from their end? That's what I'd do first. Good luck with it. Cheers; cdrxo [commanderxo]

Wow considering that you have a DSL connection but still your experiencing this. Maybe your ISP is doing some upgrade of some sort. I'm now connected on a free wifi connection that is even faster than my broadband connectionconfused Anyway hope you sort out your problem already [hexeduser22]
I'm only on a USB dongle for a modem and no I only have a broadband wireless connection and also no landlines of any sort. I'm just lucky to get a free internet connection other than my postpaid one. [hexeduser22]

Then perhaps it's time for you to call your service provider. You're paying for something that is making you angry. I would call my service provider if the bandwidth isn't what I've paid for. Regardless if it's quick. I deserve to get full benefits for what I'm paying for. [laydee]

I know that feeling, and sometimes it isn't always the connection, sometimes it is the fact that my hard drive has gotten cluttered up with cookies and other junk. I then clear my browser cookies and history, and that may work. Sometimes, if it doesn't I will do a defrag on my Hard drive. But then, sometimes sites are very slow to load because there is a large volume of traffic trying to get into them. happy_Derek [derek_a]

we are using dsl connection in the office. we frequently experience slowness or even hanging. we have a wireless router so aside from the desktop who has direct connection to the internet, there are also other desktops and laptops connected to it. and when this slowness of the loading of pages or hanging during loading, we restart the modem of the dsl. most of the time, this resolves our problem, but it should not be that way. [neildc]
Yes, I agree.. They only resolve your problem. But giving permanent solution will always be there.. Haaaayzzz, That's what I don't like about DSL agent. [kent_help2smile]

I feel the same way sometimes. DSL has really been having problems where I'm at as well. But I do believe I need an upgrade as well... LOL Slow connection aside, 218 messages from mylot? WOW! How much are you making a month here? [shattered]
That's great! If only I had more time to spend on mylot! LOL I hope you figure out the problem with your DSL connection. [shattered]

WOW, that is a lot of messages. [pengbubu]
Yes I know and I love it.. [kent_help2smile]

I have no patience with slow internet connection either. Sometimes I would just shut down my pc and sleep rather than to wait for the page to load. I just don't like waiting and it's really frustrating when you see that all your tabs are loading and none of them are showing any pages. Ugh. angry [Ingkingderders]
I have really short temper in terms of waiting of something... [kent_help2smile]

ithink u can ghost the computer program. [concise_1]

try doing a disc clean up. my computer, right click on c/drive go to properties look near the big ciral and click onto disc clean up. [syankee525]
Thanks, I will do that later on.. [kent_help2smile]

Hi kent, Have you tried, cleaning the temp files? Did you try to check the computer by checking if there were error? I do that once in a while although it takes a long time. I usually set it before going to bed. As for myloy notifications: probably they have deleted an answer due to a deleted post. Luck and take care! [marguicha]

Hi Kent, Like you even i am less patience to wait for anything . I do understand your situation if there is any virus scan running at the background it do happens. I think you can check out if there is any Virus in you pc first it do happens sometimes. Have a great day. [deepasubramani]

that's one of the many reasons i got rid of DSL. you might want to talk to your provider.there could be something wrong with the modem if it does it all the time. [scarlet_woman]
Yes, I will when I can't handle the situation anymore.. [kent_help2smile]

happy Just be patient. raspWe would not like it if you pop a vessel or two. Log out and turn off your computer. Wait for about ten minutes. Then you try again. Mine does exacty the same and i asked our technician about it. He said it is the servers. shockedThere are too many people on it and it can get overcrowded. So, just relax, will ya. TATA. [saphrina]

I too get this kind of stuff with my cable internet speed as sometimes it just slows down and sometimes for almost an entire day, it has very slow downloading speed that I am limited too access a few sites which are big and heavy and take a lot of time to load. And also my yahoo mail account doesn't open as it takes a lot of time for it to loading. And due to that, I either go to cyber cafe for my day's work of going through the internet or just skip that day's programsad!! [acematthews71]

I am very sorry, you have having such problems, with your computer, I have low memory on my computer, so I have to do what work, I can do on my computer, and shut my computer off, for a while and then turn it back on, it hasn't cut off on my today, and I hope it won't until,I get all these discussions answered.sadsadsad [notlistening2]

happyHello kent, just relax and stay calm. computers are not like us, when we are wounded, we heal, if you don't take care of your computer it will give you the worst head ache ever. probably, the best thing is to do is rebooot your pc and don't put too many tabs on the browser. just take it slow start from mail and the when it's done then try another. happyhappy [LetranKnight25]

I absolutely HATE slow connections. Nothing grates more on my nerves than when you are just waiting and waiting for a single page to loadangryangry I guess I cannot complain though. I mean, it could be worse, I could live in some rural village barely surviving off dial-uplol [MrKennedy]

We had a slowness problem with our old internet service, and then the idiots at the cable company tried to screw us over price, so we said goodbye to them, and went with wireless internet from our phone company. It is wonderful now. It's four times faster, and the price is included in our phone bill. [danishcanadian]

I can relate. I have come close to a nervous breakdown thanks to my beloved computer! My sister went through the same thing on the weekend her system was hanging on 'loading…' just like yours is at the moment. She phoned her provider who told her it was not their problem and that she should get a technician out. She rang me and I looked up her provider's website where it clearly stated that certain areas were experiencing problems and her suburb was on the list! Grrr...She rang them back and eventually got her connection restored after two days of stress! These things are sent to try us especially when we have a lot to do... angry [paula27661]

My solution for your problem would be to suggest that: 1) You shut down any open applications in an orderly fashion and then log out and shut down the computer, then restart it after a minute or two. Open the browser and try opening some of the sites you were opening before. 2) If this shows little or no improvement in speed, clear the cache and delete any cookies that you don't need. 3) I sincerely hope that you have an up to date antivirus, firewall and antispyware protection installed and running. If you do, run a full scan with your AV and also with your antispyware product to check that you have nothing nasty lurking. Malicious dialers are not as common now as they used to be but they can often be the reason why a connection suddenly slows to the pace of a snail in treacle. 5) Don't discount the fact that your DSL provider may be having problems. Check out their website and call the number which gives you information on any service problems (often a recorded message). Try pinging a few well established and well-known websites (in the UK we often try pinging www.bbc.co.uk). If the times are slow (more than 20ms per ping) or variable or there are a lot of packet errors, then it is probably a problem with your DSL. 6) Another cause of speed problems with a DSL can be modem errors. Switch off the computer (again). Switch off your modem (pull out the power supply) and wait for a couple of minutes. Restore power to the modem and wait until the Ready and Sync lights are steady (the Send, Receive and Enet lights should flash on and off occasionally). Then switch on the computer and try again. 7) If you are getting too many notifiers from MyLot, set all your friends to 'notify off' (except those whose discussions you are really interested in). [owlwings]
So far it look likes same oh same oh again. About the notifiers. I already configured it now. I am contented on the emails I get. I just receive another 315 discussion from my friends. I'm already halfway. Thanks for the response.. [kent_help2smile]

Its very aggravating. We changed our provider last year because although the previous ISP were the fastest at the time, we would have days at a time where we got no connection at all or the emails were about 3 days late . I missed a few earning opportunities with surveys because of it and my husband missed a meeting. If you have a modem (I suppose everyone does) sometimes its worth switching it off and unplugging it. Wait for a few minutes then plug it back in and let it reboot. It can be a build up of static or some such thing. we even have a reset button on ours in case of it. You might need to reset your internet connection on your computer too. Easiest way is just to turn it off and reboot it. [pandaeyes]

The DSL connection may be slow due to a variety of reasons. It may be due to network congestion. If network conjestion is the cause then you have no other option but to wait. However,in order to surpass such problems you can use dial-up network or cable network.Check the modem configuration whether it is proper or not.You should also stop all other applications that are running in the background of your computer.Above all check with your internet service providers help desk and ascertain whether you have any outstanding bill as it often happens that though you have paid the bill yet the service provider have not updated it.So just check it out.Maybe the solution to this problem lies there. [Naxous]

Hey friend. I know it very well how it feels with a slow internet connection. I thought only Bangladesh had this problem. I've been living with this problem. Now there's no alternative but to wait for the improvement. Have a nice day.happy [faridmadeabillion]

well, sometimes technology has a way of making us impatient. we put a lot of expectations on our gadgets and when they don't deliver, what else can we do but get impatient. hitting the gadget won't get us nowhere. also, if the problem is caused by the dsl provider, you better bring this up to their attention. otherwise, the problem will persist. [bystander]

I think your computer is infected of spyware or adware. Because thosekind of malware is preventing the internet connection or they also slower the connection activity. Try scanning and cleaning your computer. Even cleaning the cookies because that is also one of the problem in hard connection... [aerous]
Try to use kaspersky if you have that one. Because if you use free avg edition they are not working and not detect any most especially spyware and adware... If you can't have it. Try free avira if it can eliminate those if not try avg that is having a trial period in 30 days [aerous]

I share my dsl with two other computers, so I can understand the hang up. Although, some websites take a long time to load depending on internet traffic. It is highly frustratiing. I guess it can't be helped, if everyone wants to get to the same place as you [palegemini]

ah I know what you mean, I guess you have no choice then to calm down. If you damage your computer then you will really be up the creek on all internet work lol, so just take it easy. [climber7565]

I just popped by to say, it is not your computer that shortens your temper, it is the way you are viewing your computer. If you chose to be happy, that it still worked, that you have access, even though it is slow, and that you can actually be on mylot, then you wouldn't lose your temper. But instead, you focus on what you don't have, what isn't there, and as such, you choose to shorten your own temper. In the end, I offer this piece of advice, just be grateful, it didn't crash, and you lose all your files. Have a happy and productive day, I appreciate you. [CJscott]
Thanks for dropping by, I really appreciate your dropped. [kent_help2smile]

Hello kent_help2smile, I used dial up connection about a year and it was really suffering. I couldn't open youtube and whatever I need to download, it will take me years to do so. When I moved out, I made sure that my new home has broadband so that I won't have to face the same problem. Whenever my connection went too slow last time, I just shut down my computer! [gr8life]

Hi Kent, This is another episode again with your computer. Keep your cool and think positive on what to do to speed up your connection. It's been a day, so how was it? are are you fine now? how about your computer? i hope it's already working! [msfrancisco9369]

I absolutely hate it when my computer and my internet connection decide that they need to be slow for a time. It really does make me loose my patience and also makes me short with the people that are around me. I don't know if this same trick works with DSL, but it does work wonderfully with cable connections, and that is to power down, power up. Turn off your computer and all peripherals to it, such as your modem and also your router. Wait for about a minute then turn back on your modem, router and then your computer. It may make your connection run faster. [dorannmwin]

I hate that when it happens, and it does happen. I can not tell you what to do, but I click out, and run my computer cleaner. That makes mine move faster. I hope things are better now. [jezzmay]

I agree. When my internet connection is slow, I get very irritated. [Picquarian]

I don't really have a short temper but when it comes to my pc, it seems like I do not give a damn to the whole world. Whenever my pc has problems, software or hardware and I try to troubleshoot it, people tend to get out of my way. [flzabala]
