My Husband Says Life Was Easier Before Computers. Is He Right

In my home, my stepson, my sons, and I all use the computer and the Internet. I have done many jobs where the computer was essential. My husband hates the computer. He says records at the government and towns and banks were all better before computers. Of course I don't agree. A lot of older people feel that way. Some just believe it's better to go with the flow. What's your opinion and how do other people you know feel?

One of the problem's I found with computer's, is that we had stored a lot of picture's in our old computer and one day it crashed (or whatever it is called) and for some reason, we could not retrive them. (I am sure we could have paid for someone to find them) I love computer's, I think they have made life easier. [soldenski]
That's phenomenal bad luck. I know how it feels though. I have seen it happen in other ways in my life. You depend on one thing for a while and then want it for a back up later and POOF its all gone. And it can happen multiple times... [kbkbooks]

Life is easier before computers because these days jobs are hard to find and they are more competetion today then yesterdays job market. My sister is having a hard time finding a job becuase of these computers. There were a lot of employers who would give my sister a chance. Now those employers are gone. They want experience in which my sister didn't have at first, but now she does. My sister just want a job in an office a permanent position, but no one will hire due to lack of experience. Your husband is right. [bunny7476]
In that way I have to agree with you. Some older people who are not ready to retire have trouble finding jobs. [kbkbooks]

Computers really help alot. We can do things more easy and fast. It is very convinient. But your husband may also be rigth 'cause before there are no computers so people have to rely on their own ability and talent and now it can be a measure of ones working or qualifying ability in many aspect, but what if you could be better than someone, but you can't afford to buy a computer in that piont, the hidden fact is your behind in technology and chances in life cause your poor [xdwinx]
That's exactly what he says. He says when he was younger the banks never made the kinds of mistakes they do now. [kbkbooks]

I am currently doing a degree and i have no idea how i would do it without computers. Firstly its easier to make your work look good but more importantly its the biggest resource in the world, whereas i would have had to spend hours trawling through the shelves of the library to get information i can now do it with the click of a mouse. I think the number of people who feel that life was easier before computers is limited because it has made so many tasks so much simpler. Even my grandparents think computers are a good thing, they can't use one but they see their benefits [smuggeridge]
Having the funny sense of humour that I do, I could only think, a degree in computer science with no computer...LMAO. [kbkbooks]

Computers certainly made lots of works easier to handle. Filing, recording, retrieving, data and information gathering, that's no question. But not all people agree. I can tell you two examples. The supplier of the materials I'm using in my business is a huge retail and wholesale firm and they don't even have a single computer but very efficient. I went to a small bank in a rural area and they too, don't use a computer. Isn't that amazing. [manong05]
For the bank that is pretty amazing, unless they are not part of a larger chain. I'm impressed with your business. [kbkbooks]

I order my groceries on-line. Life doesn't get much easier than this. It keeps a list of all my staples and if I have run out I just click the items on the list. Everytime I think of something I need I just go to the computer and add it to the list. At the end of the week I tally up and send out the order, it gets delivered the next morning. I save in the end even though there is a $7 delivery fee because there is no impulse buying! It is a great way to manage my budget as well. [onestepahead]
Ok, I want to know what program you use for that and where you shop. Too easy. [kbkbooks]

I used to feel the same as your husband until I really learnt to use the computer properly and then I realised what a minefield of knowledge the computer is and now I cannot imagine my life without one, I love my computer. [minxy67]
Really, it's just what you are used to. People who use wood stoves like wood stoves. People who use electric heat like electric heat. [kbkbooks]

Computers are making our life easy and fast.I really think that life today is really great because of that.I really dontbelieve that life before computers are much better.people before are doing things manually and they are really working hard then because it is manual unlike today you just do the clicking, copying and typing then you are finished. [ennylanz]
I worked before computers. I can't say it was very difficult. I made change by counting backwards, I balanced my Books with a pencil and a calculator. I think the volume of work we do today is bigger because we CAN. We cannot imagine doing the same work manually of course. We have created work to go with the ability we have. [kbkbooks]

I believe that life wasn't easier, but it was better. Today we can't do anything (And I mean anything) without a computer, we need them to clean our clothes, to make our cars, to build our houses and the most terrifying, to communicate between family members. Computer was made to simplify our lives not to make us addicted to them, that's why the internet exist, that's why we think on getting that new graphic card before it appears on the market. Yes, life is more comfortable with robots making all our job, but computer depends of human work not viceversa. PERIOD hehe [khunapup]
It's true computers are built into everything. Now when you go to fix your car, if something is wrong, I have seen where they had to replace the whole CPU of the car to fix one little thing. That is NOT more convenient. [kbkbooks]

your husband is wrong. the life was too slow before computers.the documents used to take much more time than now and there was also an drawback in that type-writing work, that errors were sure in those documents since it was a mankind work whereas now errors are almost zero with many features of computer. the work before computers was also taking too much time which is very important factor in todays life. computers have made our life easier than it was. [sachinbhosale21]
I've come to the conclusion we have created the work load to fit our ability to work. I don't think my hubby is wrong. He just thinks of things in terms of the old work load. [kbkbooks]

I'm glad you said "a lot of" older people and not all. I am over 70 and find the computer an absolute necessity, and not just for small things. I do a lot of voluntary secretarial, design work and lesson writing which I could not do without a computer. As for government offices and business houses, they couldn't handle the volume of the work without computers. Before computers, there were fewer people and much less business, and much less information being necessary to store. Imagine how much room in buildings would be taken up with Paper records! Whole roomfuls could be stored on a few disks. The biggest problem with computers is not the computers but the operators. The initial IBM slogan still holds true: "Garbage in = garbage out". My vote is for computers! [cloudwatcher]
I agree with you on that. I'm very proud of you. I think the reason my husband at 60 has never learned computers is just because he was a janitor at a university for his entire 38 yrs working. His work didn't require it. [kbkbooks]

for me it is bothe helpful and not. it is helpful becaus it help us alot to make things easy, specially when you have projects to be type instead of using a type writer you can use the computer and you can save it for future use. and you can search in the internet instead of searching it from one book to another and to spend lots of money for the xerox copy.Life now a days w/ the computer made easy.but it also makes children now a days to be lazy, because they always dep[ending on the computers even in solving their math questions, and their assignments, they are not exerting efforts anymore.and it makes life harder because there is a very tight compition in hunting jobs now a days. most of the company needs a computer literate thatn an intellect one. and many people relys on computer now a days, even a small kids.in the field of communications as well it help a lot and communication made possible, using internet and the web cam. and even the celfones it is computer genarated now a days. [chumm525]
I think it's an unnecessary dependance. [kbkbooks]

It depends upon the usage of computer and how much we extract the things from it. I have seen many people, who can do the things by themselves even today, without depending on the computer. [workfromhome]
Unfortunately, the breed is few and far between. [kbkbooks]

Life was easier for the following reasons: 1.Unemployment and laying off people was less. 2.Software development jobs and all related jobs needs to work for atleast 12-13 hours a day.No family time. 3.All family members get hooked to computers with excuses as earning online, checking mail, checking other things and so on.No time for each other in family. 4.Older people have a hard time to learn computers.Thay need to study it to bein job field. 5.Outsourcing of jobs were less. 6.People look on their Laptops while travelling and hardly have time to smile at others. Last but not least, happiness and socialising among people is lost. [nishdan01]
I agree, what people consider as socializing now by chatting and emailing is NOT the same as face to face contact. [kbkbooks]

Yes i agree with your husband. Its true after computer the life become very easier. [Mastermind_2007_86]
The further I get into this discussion, the more I agree with my husband. He says life was easier BEFORE, not after. [kbkbooks]

Yes I agree life was really easy before computer and now because life has been worst and lot of problem has been created specially records of goverment and they got an easy excuse what ever happen it is not our fault it is the computer who did the mistake. [creavin007]
It's true we now blame computers instead of people. In fact, it is people who make the mistake inputting the data. [kbkbooks]

My husband knows nothing about a computer. So he doesn't like them. I have two in the house. Me and my son has one in the same room with the tv. We both do differant things on them but we pass our time on them. [vicky1]
That's just about how it is at my house. [kbkbooks]

I am older and for the work I do, it is a marvelous tool. The computer is really only as good as the Software running it. When I think about it, I could get along without it. Some tasks would be more time comsuming. Ans there are some activities I wouldn't miss. It is like many new inventions to come along; they have their good points and not so good points. Could you imagine running this site with typewriters, snail mail, and paper record keeping? [sigma77]
That's why there never was such a thing before! [kbkbooks]

Whoa! I'm older and disabled. I'd be lost without the internet. I can't walk even a block, don't drive, have no one to help me. I do my banking online, pay bills on line, order groceries online and get them delivered. Everything I do under the heading of general living, I do online. Goodness, I would be in real trouble without my computer! Now if only I could clean my apt with a nice inexpensive computer program, I'd be all set! [shade4dollars]

I would have to disagree with your husband as I think computers has made things much easier for many of us. I think keeping track of expenses and paying bills is easier, making new friends all around the world is easier now, job searching is easier, making money online is great, and the list goes on and on as for computers making life easier. Some people are not able to understand how to use a computer so I can see their point of view as well but I think it has made life much easier for me and my family. [kgwat70]

I think it's easier after computers was invented because you can search for a lot of information on the internet, like jobs health and so on. [coco526]

I disagree with that. Computer nowadays helps transactions faster and more accurate especially in office works. [Megzzz]

Personally, I think life was much better without computers. Unfortunately, my work sometimes depends on a computer....so I'm kind of stuck! If I didn't need one, I probably wouldn't have one....or at least I wouldn't have Internet access! [sohodmc]

He is not familiar with computers and thats why. Teach him, and he will change. [jayarajgr]

I am addicted to the computer often 10-12 hrs on the PV He is right if i didnot have a computer then i would be addicted to the Tv so lets rid of the computer and television and i might return to my wife and family ...isolated as i am for hours on the PC I am computer addicted so could not be more honest thats it and mylot is the number one enemy ..get blurred vision ...sore back ....sore fingers and worn out Buttons any more [maddy37]

I love my computer my boys use it for school work and I also know what your husband is saying my mother says the same thing to me all the time she hates the fact that I let the boys on the computer yes they did get into a little trouble on going on site we had blocked that they somehow got around but overall I think if it is used in the right way it can be very helpful. I agree with you 100% [kawillow74]

i dont think so.. computer is vital i think. [kerbausama]

Computers helped a lot.. and when its abt flow... it works great in flow.. and it doesnt allow to break any flow.. in the manual system you can break flow by some or the other way, in computer system, its very difficult. [dhavalhirdhav]

I love computers, not forget to mention the internet and it seems I can't do without it anymore. It makes my work easier and faster and of course helped me organize. Yah,most of the folks are having difficulty adapting the new technology but I'm glad my mom manage to adapt.Shes having a hard time at first but happy with the results of her efforts. [sanekate]

i do not agree also but your husband has the point in telling that life was easier before computers. I think your husband is thinking on the complexity of computers. when computers were born life become complicated already. but before where computers are not yet around, life is very simple, and that is the point of your husband. he does not want computers he just want a life wihtout robot and computers doing the job, he wants to do the job himself. and that is simplicity and not complicated [domenyag]

I think that he is wrong but i see his point. Computers have made a ton of advances possible and they can even save lives. Without computers we would not live in such a great world. However there are some downsides to computers as well. The thing that everyone should notice is how many more good things there are about computers than bad things. [kyle930]

he is wrong. he ust dont know how to use computer thats why. Can you imagine sending mail tr post that will arrive 2 to 15 days compared to emails just a sec. Computer or me is very useful really. i grew up for 14 years with out them and i can really compare. [maikeeho]

I don't want to sound like an arrogant person, but I think your husband needs to be updated, then change his software and probably upgrade some of his hardware, like his mind. He doesn't sound healthy!!!lol.:) [csenguler]

I guess life is much easier with computer. if i need to get direction i use computer, if i need to find job i use it, if need an answer to a anything immediatly i use it, for finding something or someone i use it. i think it is difficult for me to think how i can get all the info without it. [working]

Maybe your husband was trap from the hardworking of the past! Maybe on those times works were lot easier back then but through the continous improvement of life of mankind, they are continually find the way to reslove their problem regarding on their jobs. Computer is one of the solution. You have to adapt what is new and forget bout the past. Let your past be part of your experience in your daily struggle in life! [Fiona_princess]

Your husband hates the computers simply because he has gotten used to doing all his paperworks manually, with all the papers and documents scattered and piled up on his table. He also is used to typing on the typewriter. However, he should be thankful that the computer is now available for his children to use because the computer is a very useful, modern tool. [ernst111]

Computers has some what help the human race but when it comes to life as easier before them, i think that it is still the same only that it became more complicated. greetings. : ) [moneymind]

this is my opinion about computers, computers is good things, because it make everything be eassy. and now we know about internet, many people often us it.they can browsing, chating ,etc. But we can`t hung of computer for life time.thanks [nukebob]

I guess it all depends on the person. Some people think the old ways are the best ways because they were not complicated and they were accustomed ways. As for me, the new ways are definitely better because I am computer saavy and I was brought up with the computer, tv, etc. [charmedguyp1]

I think its the growing techonology and many more changes we can see may be life is difficult if you are not aware about technology. Now, working is easy in government office, banks etc. i feel that but its just my opinion. [a_robinnep]

i think it was easier, people are less busy and we do not always rely on things we can do with the computer, this can really be frustrating, knowing you can do everything with it, but cannot do it due to certain limitations. [chiyosan]

i love the computer dont know how i ever did without it i am the only one in my intire family that uses the computer they do not know how to use it nor appreciate its value nor do they give me credit for being good at it just criticize me but whats new im the stupid baby of the family the only one to have graduated the only one to live on her own before marrage then after divorce and taking care of a special needs child too ops am i venting im so sorry lol [Pekachu]

Actually, he may be right. Computers do tend to complicate things. [rogue13xmen13]

life is much easier because of computors now a days, those who hate comps are living in past i think, u too can check all these things, its so much easy to communicate and even make money on net. u could hv been abel to ask such Qs before comps, right? since u know tht u are talking to stranger... means not in ur real life so tht u can talk more freely and ask anyting isnt it? for me its gr8 to connect so much people of ur interests and hving same rpoblems and we try to solve it toether and we can hv other's views on certain topics tht way we are expnading our experiences. and for stay at home moms like me its a gr8 time pass plus good tonic for my brain too!!!!!!!!! [smille]

For me work became easier now because of computers especially for Accountants. We no longer need to manually compute everything and write in worksheets so there is less error. Aside from that, communication is now easier because of computers and internet. We don't need to travel to meet friends from other countries. There's more people who find computers very useful to us than those who don't. [genchamp]

Computers do make work easy. But sometimes people rely too much on computers that if it crashes, it's as if their world has collapsed. We forget that human relationships are vital to our existing on earth. [mlylumad]

well my opinion is same as urs, i think its way lot better in computer when u want to search a file etc, also a lot faster when u want to make a file or table etc.and all my friends and people around me agree with me [innechen]

I am not agree with your husband. because with computer has make something was very easy and automatic without we must do anything to finish some work [thanmeir]

I think the computer has its pros and cons. I think as a society we more information available to us and it makes things run faster. On the other hand, computers are not always safe for kids with predators and with hackers. [amray767]

He has a point, I remember when I went to the SSS office here in our Country to get my I.D. they always tell me to come back later because the system has an error. Computer has some good and bad sides too, but for me, 80%, we really need the computer in our daily lives. [faylinn_chaeli]

It would be the feeling of most elders for they really dont know the benefit of computers. Maybe we should just let them think that way for they have that rights what to think what is best. Or maybe we should try to explain to them, we who knows the true benefit of computers. [anne_143god]

yes he is right, computers are curse of the modern times [ahmedmohiuddin]

I say no way for two reasons: 1. You can research things quicker 2. You can pay all of your bills online - this is the one I'm the most stoked about. I love instant payments and not worrying whether or not a payment made it somewhere on-time through the mail. [not4me]

I disagree with your husband. Computers have of course made our lives much easier and convenient. If you want an information, you don't have to drive to the library. If you wanna write somebody a letter, you can send an email. The groceries, the banks, drugstores and almost every service institutions have served people better with the help of computers. But i must say though that our lives have been more complicated when the computers arrive. And i think that is what your husband hates. [hellboi]

thats what the elders will usually say when confront with the modern technology coz they cant accept the trend now ..and is not yet fully adjusted..but maybe later on if we are going to teach them patiently they maybe able to appreciate it more better..it needs time i think...i havent known anyone complaining about the system..its how to used it i think thats troubling them.. [vanities]

well i think that computers have helped and hindered the world in some ways but i dont think anyone now a days could actually live without a computer because they make things alot faster and easier in some ways although computers also cause alot of headaches for people too because they crash and malfunction and are just screw up and wear out but that happens to all things in time so you cant really blame the computers. [glasser3]

Although I love my computer and the internet, computers are basically taking over many forms of work in factories and other areas as well. Which unless the person has an education in operating computers it pretty much leaves a person out in the cold when looking for a job. And many can't afford to go back to school with the high fees and what not for tuition and books just so they can keep up with the way the world is evolving. I think no matter filing system is used either on the computer or the "old fashioned" way neither one is the better, cause it don't take much to lose files in either case. With computers you can make back up after back up and still get hit with a fire flood, etc etc. And all that will be gone, unless you tape a disk to yourself and keep it with at all times. Same goes when the older mentioned of filing. As for working I find that I do better business with the "old fashioned" catalogs that I make to sell my products than I do with the online store I have. But when it all comes down to it in the end it all really depends on the person since we will have our own views. [jeweledbluerose]

since i work on the computer everyday of my life i could say it made my life easier and hitech and also i can edit those documents and save them and re-open them again too many conveniences, esp. with the internet has been added to my life. [weblord]

I believe that life is easier after the advent of computers. It makes everything easy and fast to operate.Well a lot of old people feel that way.Maybe it is due to the fact that they are not acquainted properly with the computers or just oppose the changes. Some people I know have been happy with the development and learnt to use the computers and have enjoyed working on the pc.Some people who find it difficult to operate and do not take the effort to learn how to do it are feeling that the old fashioned way is the better way. [Ragavendran]

u r right but the errors in the recodings in olden days were estimated accurately but today even the error is maded in knowing they r wanished by some reasons though at present it is not possible to survive in world without PC's [erdsethu]

I dont think it is right. He feels that because he could not and refuse to use computer. Who could debate that computer make our life harder? it is only for the one who refuse to use it. I think you should introduce the computer's benefit to him slowly. Usually, you could start from his hobbies. Good luck [idrob2006]

I would not be able to survive without my computer i use my computer to earn alot of my money to help pay bills i am disable so this is the only way i can work to earn money and do it from home.Alot of my family and friends feel the same way as they also use there computers to earn money from home. [saphire539]

no...he is totally wrong....computer has made everything very easy and comfortable...otherwise u say...would u had been able to join this site.mylot...no...so how can u say computer is nt important or it was better without computer...even the govt. services are more easier to avail bcoz of computer and digital networking....otherwise u would had to run all around the city with a piece of paper and pen....so definitely computer has made r life easier... [chandrakanoria]

I think that life is 100% better because if the computer and internet. Personally now that i have my own computer i do not think that i could ever live without one. [ronita34]

It depends but I noticed that really older people doesn't like computers at all but for me I can't live without computer and I can't imagine that I didn't see my mail or know new things every day from the internet. Computers make life easier and faster but for my mom for example she didn't like it and never stayed on a computer and if we stayed a lot she keep saying enough your eyes will get weaker and so on..... So not all people are the same you'll always find a lot of different point of views. [mariam74]

Yes...really...its true...because due to the computer, i accept that we have new technology but apart from this, we got tension while working, and the fast movement in the lifr and so on...for example, i say the "Softwares company". The people working in the software companies suffered a lot by mentally and also somewhat physically.... [sureshmoe]

In my opinion life was easier before computers or any other invention. When wishes are few, life was/is peaceful. But again in my opinion work was not easier before computers are invented. Work are now faster, easily apporachable, fast electronic communication, sharing of thoughts at a faster pace are the advantages of computers. The very simple example is : Earlier, postman delivers our mails and it takes around 2-3 or in some countries even a month to deliver but now with the computers a written e.mail is delieverd within few seconds in any part of the country. Computer made railway reservation easy. Remember, computer is an idiot box operated by human. Computer itself is an idiot box till a human approaches them and handle it carefully and intelligently. Think about it ! Now coming to my first opinion I will say one invention generates another invention and generates the use and misuse of it. If an invention is not made, wishes will not grow and human will stick to Food, Clothes and Shed to live and this is the basic need of our human life. If only these three are fulfilled there is enough space on earth for a human to live, to eat and to get clothes. Rest inventions are done because of our desires and wishes. Think about it ! [RadheKrishna]

For me, eventhough I love using my computer, I would rather select the old times without computers. Nowadays, computer are the basic essential needs on works. So jobs has lessen for the people. That`s why we are increasing our unemployed. People also lessen their bonding with families especially parents to children. Because parents are so busy updating their knowledge in computers so that they won`t left behind by some computer geeks in their offices. While childrens are entertained on different entertainment sites also in computers especially computer games. Some people also just enhance their learning in computers and depended on computers for other subject matters. even simple calculation of expenses was depended now in computer rather using their mind. Same with sentence patterns and spellings. While those computer geeks always enhanced and develops these machines for upgrades, we must also upgrades our self. So we lack time for other things which is really essential to life. TIME for the persons we LOVED. Computers makes our life much complicated. [jenifer_ponce]

Well I'm new to computers. Yes they make some things easier, but it shouldn't be the only way of doing things. The world should be large enough for people who like and use computers and people who don't.If society ignores people who don't or can't use computers, it would be a big mistake. [sarahruthbeth22]
I agree with you. I don't like it that young cashiers don't know how to make change the old way!! You gave them $10 for $7.72 and they would count back 7.75, 8.00, 10.00. Now they can barely do basic math if they make a mistake punching in the amount you give them. Also they can't figure out what to do with the 2 cents if you give them 10.02 for that 7.72. When I was a cashier if the power went out we had to work with flashlights and calculators (another bane of the math world). Now if the power goes out they have to close down unless they have generators. [kbkbooks]

Yah i think its better to go with the flow. I think computer make life easy and fast because it could help us do our research with just a short time and it can also kill as fast. [vertex]
For sure that's right. [kbkbooks]

well computer is one of the best technology invented...and i totally disagree you husband...life has become much easier and uncomplicated...i cant imagine how things would have been at the time when there were no computers.....im so thankful that i came into this world when computers had already invented :P X [Xtauseef]

Actually computers have both advantages and disadvantages but disadvantages are far less then advantages so I think your husband is wrong. [wasim989]

I would completely disagree with your husband. I am just a 16 year old kid and God knows that computers are a blessing. No more stupid snail mails taking weeks for communicating messages, no more hour long telephonic conversations involving mindless greetings for me. I am happy with my life living with computers. [amishagg]

maybee, some people thing like that it wont work because without computers nothing will be possibe.can just imagine one day withuot them , it can be possible. [shivadony]

I think life is easier now because of computers, in most of the company computer is necessary to make work faster and organized. Data processing, communication and entertainment were made accessible because of computers and internet. [jhaime]

Changes have to occur to replace the old tradetions. At present the computers are changing the day to day life. It may be for good or for bad. But there is going to be a day when man can not survive with out computer. The contrl will be in the few hands who are able to contrl the computers. [gsnarayanan]

Yes I agree a lot of older people tend to see the coming of computers as a nuisance instead of a convenience. Maybe because they do not want to accept new ideas and just want to stick with what they are used to. In our generation computers has been a great tool for us.It's very helpful in terms of data storage and many other things. A lot of new inventions would not have been possible without computers. Computers for me are the most important invention of our times. [selina0625]

It's not easier but i could say it's simplier. Computers made task a lot easier with computers. Before you can't withdraw money from another bank since they don't have your records. Communication is not as fast before and it cost much too. I'd say computers are a big help. [emquinsat]

Computer is really one of the incredible discovery to the mankind after light. Computer has penetrated its present in every aspect of our life. It has really made the life easier and wonderful. I can't even imagine life without computer. [gloria777]

No, i dnt completely agree to ur husband. When there were no computers, humans had to do all the work themselves, increasing the work pressure on them, but nowadys its the computer which does most of the work. Ofcourse it has entered our life so much so, that its becoming hard to find time for other things. That may be only curse tht it has got with it, n that must be the limitation ur husband must be talking of... [Lifeless]

no i dont think he is right... their is a lot of information on internet which we can get in a fraction of second think without internet how much difficult it would have been we might have to go here and there for information. internet is a effective way to buy and sell things world wide. communities of all type have sprung into internet. without internet it is high difficult to manage in this world. [amerkhan987]

Every coin has two aspects. But its not correct to say that records at the government offices were better before computer. The air and rail reservations are some of the examples. We don't have to go to them to enquire for a confirmation. Clicking of a button opens before us a host of information. Today we can't even imagine a world without computers [ravinamita]

I live on the Computer, and it is awesome to have something to be able to do from home in my spare time to come online and interact with people on a daily basis thru Email, myLot, etc. I personally cannot imagine going back to before I knew about the internet and could spend a lot of time here making extra $$. I think the reason they might say life was easier, is that is also before a lot of the Video systems also that we have now, and life was just more easy going as you did not have so many things that could eat up your time to where you always feel you do not have enough time to enjoy life as you are tossed too and fro. Yes, maybe he is right in some respects, but I am enjoying life too much to want to go back to where it was. [KrauseHome]

ya... many people thinks so... but the problem is, in govt. offices usually people who works are very bad at computer knowledge so when they are provided computer to do work, they take more time and do many mistakes which irritates other people... [nitin_mnit2005]

I must say that your husband is really a very orthodox minded guy and he surely is not in love with the wonderfull technology around us, i cannot imagine my life without computers ,even you cannot do that ,you are also using computer right?, and as far as record goes it improves with the tachnology we use and it adds convinience, precision and efficiency ,si think twice is your husband right. [gurubhai]

We live in the computer age, where if we are to survive we must use the computers. Many things we do in our everyday life are in fact computerized even if we do not realize it. For example, making a toast using an modern toaster is in fact a form of computerized action since the time the toast wil take to be done is controlled by a small computer chip! So we better get used to the idea that our lifes are in one way or another connected to the use of a computer. [tamaco_uk]

I think that life has become easier with computers. I also believe that we are entirely to dependant on them. I have been in stores where the registers are run on old computers, when they go down it is almost like the world has ended, most of the cashiers don't know how to write up a manual reciept. I cannot live without my computer. It broke down earlier, and I had to take it in. I use my computer in my work, studies and life. It turns out that it is dead. I had to buy another one, luckily the shop could salvage the hard drive, so I will go there in the morning for them to transfer all the data over. [Coqui1219]

yes.i'm coperating with you.i cant imagine the world without a computer and internet connection now a days.try to make your husband a computer lover.once you succeed in it,all will come your way.ok? [hello1manu]
I don't really agree with you there. I love him the way he is. [kbkbooks]

i think that computers makes things more faster like in researching, processing and many more. making people connected from different places is a great thing that computer has contributed to us [aouieboy]
What I like is that when I research I can get many different views. [kbkbooks]

Different people must be having different perceptions. Its because of computers only, you are posting a discussion here at myLot :-) [nandans]
That's true, but he doesn't do this, and he doesn't have an email address. [kbkbooks]

Yes your husband saying is positive. [zoopash]

I'm not gettin rid of my computers, however, there are alot of people who refuse to even get on a pc even internet..I had a topic similar about people not wanting to change with this day and age. My grandparents have never had a computer and says never will they don't need them. No matter how much I try to talk to them and let them know how useful a computer is they still say no...Some people don't feel they need to change if they can still do the "old" way [mzbubblie]

Definitely the older life before computer was excellent. After the introduction of calculator our brain became stalled and refused to do calculations manually. Now the computer had taken its place and nothing is impossible with computer. I welcome your husbands view [sri123]

well technology changes the lifestyles of every generations and we older ones are there to cope with this advancements. Your husband got some points for all records before are typed or even hand written wherein it is filed according to the way it will be best to search for wevery documents needed in the future, but with computers its just a click away... disavantage when your computers was virus or cpu shut down and cannot be repaired all installed documents are gone. Another thing before most students use the library fro research, reading every books where they can find an answers, write it on paper and once at home type it in manual typewriter. nowadays studest just click the computers just read a headlines and then print things without reading the whole documents. Also celphones affects the grammar and sentece construction and the spelling. So I appeciate more how studious the students are than today. [jeraldanmarie]

no its not right , ur husband is wrong . these days are very good because of computers . [khaleel_ah]

I Dont agree with him coumputer has made my life easy than before i do all my work through computer. [visu1009]

yes your hubby is true in the sense that life was a little slow and relaxed before coputers came. As every new thing inveented by Science has its pros and cons, computers too have had both on human lives. But, than it depends on person to person, as i know my Prof. in the college who are so orthodoxy in the way they teach and methods they utilize to convey their teachings, but are more successful that those tech savvy newee Profs. So overall, computers have made life easy to all of us in general, but adverse to many in particular. like take for exxample, a automobile assembly company which used to hire 100 people for the work, now hires not more that 25 along with some very superfast computers controlling the robots all aligned in so called ''Assembly lines''. so now their the employment has gone down by 75 percent which is why many ''skilled labours and traditional artisans and talented people have their mouths full of ''curses'' for a ''computers''. [imu2607]

It is difficult to say whether the pre-computer age is better because with or without computers, it is still up to us humans to perform the task. Computers are only the Tools while we are the master. We design the algorithms behind all the wonderful functions of the computers, so computers have definitely improved our lifestyle. Only thing we need to be fearful about is that we have become far too dependent on computers and if all the computers in the world were destroyed by a bug, our lives will be terribly affected. [kabuki]
Don't you feel we are already at that point? I almost do. [kbkbooks]

computers are very usefoul and very powerfoul tools for meaking a lot of money helpin you to knew a lot of friends or for information(internet) [predator21]

your husband would rather stay in the stone age, would he? times have changed, theres more people on this globe, more things to do, banks, insurance, and the list is endless...do you think its possible to maintain records of 20m customer ( for ex 20m is the population of australia) on paper? even if you did, do you see how much paper would you use? this is just 1 simple thing i pointed to. yes, life would have been slower, n less paced, n more laid back... [karan25]

Sorry but I disagree to your husband's opinion. First off, without computers were not here in myLot discussing and sharing our opinions. The question is, Is life easier before computers? Definitely NOT. Here in our country, before if we have a relatives far from our place and there are some important matters that we would like them to know, we have to create a letter and mail it through snail mail. Imagine it takes so many days before you get a response from them but now by just using an email it only takes seconds..forte your letter is delivered. We have to appreciate every innovations that makes our life easier. Remember, anything that is too much is bad. [mchlgryn]

Well if the answer has to be in terms of records then computers have definetely made life million times easir. We are in such a time where things could not be possibly acheved with out the help of computer. On other hand it has also invaded privacy and forced new learnings with which many are not comfortable with. [bashiruddin_555]

No I think he is not right.Computers have made life so easier for us.Technology has entered every aspect of our life and we cant deny its importance. The problem is that older people are not acustomed to computers and internet thats why they complain so. [abhishekkala2002]

NO! Not at all. Everything was slower, and more difficult. Who use the computer, that never say this. [Dolcerina]

ya.i too feel its an absurd statement because computers r consideresd as one of the best inventions of the millenium. [shummy]

It is true only, when we use computer time consuming is very less.By using the internet,we can learn more things in the communication side and as well as technical side.it is very fast when comparing to other devices.... [kumar_santhoshg]

In some places computers have really helped us out in saving time by doing tedious task in couple of minutes with great ease while at someother places they have become a medium to complicate things and also made lot many things exposed which were otherwise supposed to be hidden like bank records etc. [trialrun01]

they say that just because they are afraid to learn something new [ddsedssd]

I think its a matter of age and willingness to adapt. The "younger" you are in your heart the easier you can adopt to new techniques. I think in every generation there are those that hate archievements of the younger generations. [Deist2000]

no way, just imagine doing a research paper and having to go to the library twice a day for 3 weeks and search for books and read ALL the books and copy everything down by hand, then write your paper by hand (or i guess you could use a typewriter). it's way too much of a hassle without computers. im not saying we cant still go to libraries to search books, but the computer makes it easier so that libraries are not our only option. i mean, just imagine having finished a 20-page research paper, and then realizing you need to go back and add a paragraph somewhere in the middle. it's impossible without a computer unless you want to sit there and re-write everything again. of course, im only using this example of the academic use of computers, but there are multiple other uses as well. i dont really know how it was in banks and whatever before computers, but i can assume you had to sit there for a lot longer because they had to search for your info, then write down all your deposits by hand, then do whatever else they needed to. computers make things quick, easy, and efficient, in my opinion. i dont think i could live without them! [pagli84]

may be he have a lack of confidence himself, he is totally wrong, but i accept decrease of the man power, but we take this as a development. [nantha]

Computer is good. You can not blaim it due to your own life style. But, much dependence on computer can cause problem to society, if your husband is thinking in this direction, he is right. [asheeshdube]

LIFE WITHOUT COMPUTERS WAS MUCH SIMPLERS AND ACTIVE NOW WE SIT IN FRONT OF THE COMPUTERS AND GET THINGS DONE WE DON'T GO OUT TO PAY BILLS AND THIS REDUCES THE BODY MOVEMENT MAKING US LAZY AND OBESE IN NAUTRE. [anjalisk2005]

Well computer make people lazy.It make me lazy.Nowdays i seldom go out with my friends since we can chat on the internet. My father dont like people using the computer but all he do at home is surf net and chat (o.O) [zenkill]

Some people just do not understand the power of computers and therefore hate them. They need to be introduced to the prowess of the computers like a child is introduced to studies at Kinder Garten level. [sureshailawadi]

Computers and internet, i strongly belive, have been one of the greatest blessings from God to us in this age.I think your husband needs a little bit of orientation on the relevence of computer and internet, possibly with a little encouragement to visit sites on internet that deal with subject of interest to him. Almost all the people i know are greatly thanking God for the advent of computers and internet. i'm from a developing world. [abiolamuda]

I think word "easier" is not meant for this term. Computer now a days makes life easier as contrary to your statement. It's all because everything is on top of computers. All our needs can be supplied easily and speedy by computers. Like this instance, the telephone: if we don't have telephone at this time, what will you going to do is to shout your neighborhood for the sake he can hear you. If he did not, then there is a possible tendency that you walk out from your home and go to his house and knock in front of his door house. Which is very time consuming, and exert a heavy effort to be able to communicate to him. Computer changes LIFE! [cuddiluk]

Personally Life was better when computers are handling some of the works. Even getting information is better. [cnetboss]

what happand ..... before computer all the works are done in book, or register, so if they need any enquiry they can get easily. (older people view) but now after computer all the information is in the computer by internet. so some time if internet not working or our pc is stuck we say we will not give you information now, please come after few days. so thats way older people hate computers. they will not understand that how to find records on computer fast. nothing else. [welldonarts]

Yes, computer has changed the whole world and that to after internet is introduced, it has changed the whole life style of an individual in countries where it is more advanced and in some other countries, it is still coming up at a fast pace and will catch with others who have advanced in computers soon. So, before computers got introduced to this world people were not as busy as they are now.......but life easier before computers..i don't agree with this.. [alienstar]

I really don't think so, to me computers have beena wonderful in my career and brings me a lot of pleasure in my spare time. [whiteheather39]

Yes what your husband told might be true for certain cases, but without that there couldn have the communication developed. Many business depends on this internet and the computer.Computer is the place where large amount of records can be maintained in a small space whereas if they weren't available there would have been a big problem in all sectors. [fireblazerin]

Hi.....u r point makes some sense....But only computer cant make everything easier........ u need paper works before every things u need rough works to be done in papers ...And until data re not in papers they re always meant has a raw data....However computers can make things easier..Paper works re essential [fero4u]

Hello. I dont think he is right or wrong. I do miss them good ole days too though. Although I love my computer. My husband doesnt mess with my computer much. Although he does like to go to Pogo and play games. He respects that I like the computer and know pretty much how to operate it. He is amazed sometimes how I do banking and stuff online. He thinks it is truly amazing. He doesnt really get interested in computers as muich as he does the playstation LOL. Lord forbid if something should happen to that game system LOL. My computer for me is a way to earn a little income online, i soend aklot of time on here looking for things or earnings or looking for ways to earn. I also spend time on here advancing my knowledge of things I need to know or want to know. I think it is a great tool for those of us who didnt get to extend our educations. [stephcjh]

I think computers are fabulous and I am so glad I took it up as a hobby 13 years ago when I was still young. The first home computers were extremely basic compared to what we have today. Today we can just about do anything with a computer. The diversity is immense if you have the software and hardware to do it. I don't think I could live without my computer. I use it to process pictures, Music and movies. I use it to check on the news, to meet people on sites like this one... and to do research. Without it... I would not know what to do with myself. I have every letter I wrote since 1997 on my computer. If I had them in some filing cabinet, it probably would take me half an hour to find what I am looking for. With the computer, it takes 2 minutes... and I can instantly print as many copies as I like anytime. Yes it is a good idea to backup everything. I usually do that once a year when I think about it. I copy it all on CDs. However... most people think that they have lost everything when their computer crash. The reality is that it is still all there... you just cannot access it. Solution: Never re-format a Hard Drive if you need what is on it. Go and buy a new hard drive and re-install Windows. Then hook up your old hard drive as a slave. You will find all your data on it and you will be able to copy most of it... if not all of it... on your new hard drive. I lost 3 hard disks in the past 10 years... and by using that process... I never lost a single document or picture. [Aussies2007]

yeah u r right ,compure is very essiential file for every day life.it is very useful to all. [rubininidhish]

Heck no! Those were the days when everything took days to accomplish, had to use the mail to get things from one place to another, nothing was immediate. I'm sure there are issues either way but computers have saved mankind much time and effort in the long run for sure! [hockeygal4ever]

he correct up to some extend! [drsanjeeva]

your husband is a lot like my mom. my mom still uses her good old electric typewriter. i've been trying to convince her to use the computer, but she always tells me that she types a lot faster using the typewriter instead. it's pretty weird, i know, but that's how she wants it, so i let her be. and as the saying goes, you can't teach old dogs new tricks, eh? lol! [toonatoons]

MY opinion are this that in house there are computer and internet than best.Something is that we learn it,we know that what in happing in the world by computer and internet. That is my feel the cmputer and internet is good. [workinghard]

My honesh opinion is that I like life after computers. It has eased my way in many ways. I can now do even my bank transactions sitting from home and do not have to go out of the house for it. Infact I can even shop online and get good discounts. [raveena]

I was not there when there were no computers.....but ya i read in history books that early man, nomadic people were well off without computers. So most probably that's how life was easier....I dunno!! [dush_priya_nazi]

i believe computer was invented to save time, effort and to make things faster than before. there is a big gap between computer errors and human errors. its just that the older ones havent experienced the benefit of how technology makes things easier than before [katenkim]

Everyone I know believes the computer is the only way to go. We have come so far because of computers and it makes our jobs today so much easier. The people that say they dont believe in computers like you say too are usually elderly people and never had the chance to even try one out. [TerryZ]

I think your husband is just afraid of technology. Computers makes our job become fast and oriented. I loved computers, and I'm sad to those people that they can't see the true meaning of computers and how these technology will make our life easier. [peachie29]

It may be..as it is his point of view..and different people will have different views on the importance of computers in todays life.I feel the computer has been an angel's stick..or a magical stick..just by shaking the stick I can talk to one who is sitting in the north pole..or south pole. But but.I think I must agree is that it has made us lazy..and ur brains are invaded by evil ideas..we always think negative and our creative imagination has been lost for ever.. [shyam4uall]
Lazy is true. My stepson is the worst. He will sit for hours and play just one game, day in and day out. [kbkbooks]

I agree that the people before were better off without computers because technology was not yet developed then. But now, with the help of technology, things are made easier. Life is made easier. I cannot imagine myself without a computer or a cellphone today. But tomorrow, there will be more new gadgets that we could not imagine today. I think the advantages of having a computer outweigh the disadvantages. It all depends on how the person uses a particular technology. [mrsartemisfowl]
It's so funny to see people walking around all over the place with their hand to their ear. Phones have become so small you could walk around with your hand on your ear and no one would know the difference. [kbkbooks]

well, depends on how addicted you are to the computer and internet.. if you are too addicted to them, there's no doubt your husband's opinion is right, but otherwise i see no reason for him to think so. [hellfire]

I could definitely understand why your husband thinks that way. Although I am from the computer age, I got my first computer only 6 years ago while a freshman in college. Computers have not only made life easier for many but also have made the majority of users lazy. I could remember not having a computer, there were a lot less problems as far as losing data etc. But on the same note, the computer has saved us a lot of time. There are both pros and cons about having computers, and many of the elders will continue to find more cons and reasons for not keeping up with the program. I agree with your husband in the sense that before computers were used in households, life was more private. Now everyone knows about everything and anything. Resulting in a more unsafe world. But like yourself and your family, I wouldn't be able to complete anything without the help of the computer. Thanks for the topic!! [purposedriven]

well in my opinion, i believe that this case can be discussed from two perspective ie for or against computers. computers have change how the world operates and while this has alot of positive advantages, we must not get carried away and become too dependant on computers. i think however, that your husband is wrong, older people may tend to think that life was easier before computers because they could not adjust to the advancement of technology so for them going up on the internet and joining this forum might look like an impossible task, however the internet have made long distance communication easier in that i copuld send my response to you without i actually meeting you. computers have helped in space exploration, in the Medical industry, in business, education etc. [agent22]

I disagree with him. Computers have revolutionized work and life. Its just like the industrial revolution. The technology age has made record keeping, access to information, commerce, and daily life easier. The tech revolution has added more jobs and is furthering advances in medicine, trade, and education. [MrNiceGuy]

Your husband is right, I support him! [tysyln]

I think no, because with the computer you work more faster and do the work with more organization [Xixanatola]

Well I am not to sure I like the Computer and it is easier to just store things on here and that but the only Problem is if the Computer breaks and you haven't backed up lol But no I do not think that life was easier before Computers I would not say that it is easier now [gabs8513]

I think things may have been simpler (hoe many hours have you wasted doing acomputer job you thought would take 5 mins but took 5 hours!) but personally I coudln't live without one. I work on it, find my entertainment on it and look up loads of facts that I otherwise would not know!! [racheldarcy]

life wasn't this faster thn...... [vidyadas]
That's the truth! [kbkbooks]

I like computers, I have had one since I was like 5 so I don't really know what it's like to be without them. But what I do know they have become very helpful in many many ways, and are a very good place for even the average joe to make a lot of money in business. Where they may never have the chance to get going in the real world. [jihad4lyfe]
I know what you mean, my sons in their teens have never known life without the computer. One day our cable went down and my son said, "WHAT?? NO INTERNET??" He couldn't believe it. It was really funny. [kbkbooks]

I believe that most of the people who feel this way is because they are scared of computers and don't know enough about them . I have found computers have made so many things easier then it was years ago . Take for instance just being able to talk to family and friend on the other side of the world . You have to pay for your phone calls but you can check in with family and friend either with an online chat thing like msn or yahoo or just by sending an email message . [samtaylorskykierajen]
Free phone will come soon enough or phone will become obsolete, that is my opinion. [kbkbooks]

i dont think that is true.there is nothing without computers nowadays.just think of it if we were to store records on paper the time and sapce it would occupy. That goes as far as storing.what happens when we want to pull out the details of a particular record stored around 20 years back.it would take days.technology has grown to a vast extent nowadays.i guess we ll have to adapt ourself with it whether we like or not else it becomes difficult to survive. [dbeast]
Thanks for your answer. [kbkbooks]

A computer cannot change life ....He is wrong so do u [sanjayko]
hmm, I don't get you. [kbkbooks]

I don't know, but technology sure can make things pretty confusing, but overall it makes our lives more entertaining I would say. Think of a DVD player and how hard it is to get that thing connected to the tv, the cable box, and the soundsystem. Boom, there you go. [cNotable]
What you say is true for both sides. It's convenient but confusing. [kbkbooks]

I think for your husband operating computer is difficult thats why he said that otherwise all of us know that computers made our lifes easier. [sahyd2don]
Thanks for your comment. [kbkbooks]

yes life was simpler and easier without computers, a lot less stressful and less worry. They are nice to have but not an absoulte necessity, and many people can and do live without them. We all of us can when you get right down to it. [Celanith]
I agree, not really a necessity for the home. For business, I think computers are necessary to a point but I think their uses have been over extended. [kbkbooks]

I agree with you. Computers are made to assist humans in everyday task and also on complicated task such as programming and designing. Can you imagine searching for a specific record through a filing system? I say on average it takes about a few minutes to find a record, but if the record is store in a system in a computer, it would only take few seconds. Is it because your husband don't know how to use the computer well are can't find anything useful he can use it for. [mchu519]
I remember when I first started working, I was 16 so it was 30 years ago. At that time, we were still keeping files on paper and in filing cabinets. I remember filing and searching for paper documents when needed. It wasn't as hard as you make it seem. I think what computers make possible is that now a business can extend it's reach around the world instead of just in the community because it can network with other offices in other places. [kbkbooks]

i don't think so.. i think life is easier now in this computer world [Nishit_102001]

Is he right? yes, because the new technologies help us, of couse, but they bring us more problems [verdurilla]
It's true, the more we have, the more we have to bring us problems. [kbkbooks]

I've been in the workplace for over 45 years now, and I can say without exception that computers are the best thing to come along. When I first started as a secretary, I had to use a manual typewriter. Then came the electronic typewriters to make typing easier. Then came the memory typewriters, IBM mag card and...finally...computers. My work is done so much faster now than it was in the past. If we could just convince our boss that he can now fill out forms online and print them rather than filling them out by hand, it would make our lives easier (his printing/writing is very hard to read and leads to mistakes). BTW, I'm almost 65 and couldn't live without my computer at work and at home. Most people I know feel the same way. It makes many tasks so much easier and less time consuming. [claudia413]
That's interesting because in a way I feel things were easier when I didn't use a computer. [kbkbooks]

i dont think so, if computer didn't exist maybe the bigest way of comunication didn't exist [goldensun]
I think as technology advances face to face communication becomes less. We have less and less human contact. [kbkbooks]

The computer has made my life so much easier and better! It is 4:00 am right now, I just booked and confirmed my next flight to New York. I also transfered money between my bank accounts, I paid a bill, and ordered a DVD online. And I received a payment for a job I did on my Paypal account... all that without leaving my house and in matter of minutes! I'm all for computers, even if my girlfriend, like your husband, hates them! [berlinlife]
See? I knew I was right. [kbkbooks]

I would have to disagree with your husband. Without it, I would be bored out of my mind as a stay at home mom. It has helped me earn extra cash. I am able to pay my bills with web pay. You are saving the enviroment when you don't have to write a check or get a money order. I can keep in touch with friends that I normally couldn't without it. Maybe he's just scared and really doesn't understand it. Let him sit down and have a go at it. I say before the hour is up he will be hooked. [chertsy]
Another vote for my side! [kbkbooks]

Life is much easier because of computers. One downfall: Windows crashing is inevitable. [al_ngl]
YES!! No one ever invented helmets and seatbelts to save us...mostly from banging our heads on the desk in frustration. [kbkbooks]

Computers are a big help in every sphere of life I feel. But yes still there are old fashioned persons who do not like computers. This is what is called technology phobia. [sunita64]
That's the honest truth. Yet, whatever happened to receiving the love letter and cherising even the handwriting of your lover. The computer generation may kill the art of handwriting. [kbkbooks]

of course computers have made life easier. [kaushikmohan1988]

Of course before computer records were kept better, there was working some slow life was easy rather, nowadays life is going so fast and complicated, But on other hand burden of work is also became slow, and many complicated and boring work today computer doing, so man has enough choise to do desired works as well free to go more developed .. [deepak31]

No, in fact i think this mordenisation would not have been possible if computer werenot discovered. [cooldudepankaj]

ones life could be tired around the net , l tell you . lt really can get addictive. But l really don't mind , so long as l make money . [kcbomba]

Hmm...honestly I think it could go either way. Things are easier because of computers, but again, they make things more complicated. [ooshlaypooshlay]
That's the truth. [kbkbooks]

Life WAS easier before we had computers. But when computers came along, it solved a lot of problems also, but doing so required us to master a bit of complexity. So I guess its a trade-off. Personally, I very much appreciate all the things the computers can do. Like being able to post nothings here. [tenzen]
I know. It's a lot of fun being addicted to this thing. [kbkbooks]

I would say it's either way one does have to go with the flow these days but for some it is hard to change from the old ways. I am not old and I am not young. I went to school to learn computers so I could get a job, but with the knowledge that I have of the computer is still very little in the job world today and employers expectations I still don't know that much about computers. [LadyMargaret]
What I find is that they often want you to KNOW an application before they hire you. I feel this is unfair since if you know a similar application it is easy to learn another like it, and that should be taken into account. [kbkbooks]

i think your husband is old minded and can't keep pace with the cahnge [kmgupta]

Computers have brought so many oportunities though that fact about being recorded in what you do is not quite as wrong as it may sound, it is very, VERY easy to record everything someone who is connected to the internet does, and this is, Im pretty certain done in the US, though that is, I've come to understand, the way people want it. I am totally against it anyway. [Lunerian]

I think that computers help a huge deal with organization and time management. Things get processed way quicker due to computers and internet. But at the same time where did old fashioned socialization go? What happened to going to a dinner and a movie for a date instead of a website on your computer monitor? Some people have absolutely no life outside their little computer chat world. It's crazy. [chelle350]
