On A Scale Of 1 To 10 How Would You Rate Your Computer Skills

Not your internet Surfing skills alone (u got here so we know those are ok!) I am talking about if you were an employer looking at you for a job as an office support staff member. How well do you use Office 2003 have you heard about the free triel of Office 2007 suite? I took the same self evaluation around 7 mos ago and alarmed at the level of my skills I took the time to go to the Miceosoft Office site and self teach myself all of the Office 2003 Suite of programs until my skills were impeccable. I would now rate my skill level at an 8.3 of 10

Once I took up an assignment at the World Health Organisation and when asked about my MSoffice skills I simply said that I am an expert. I have never stepped into a computer class, but has been teaching it to others. All my skills are self taught, and I think it is the best way to learn. Now I have developed my own web page just by trial and error. It is www.slbrains.com . [josephperera]
the more i know about pc, the more i feel i don't know anything :(, so i think i stick with 5 [canikizu]

my computer skills are quite good and i have a few computer related qualifications, id give myself a 9 out of 10. [Alexc123]
That's great! I din't know there were so many advanced users on this network [sharone74]

I would rate myself 10. The reason is because I can do more things that my professors can do. It's just that the more time you spend on something, you are destined towards learning more things about it. I spend a lot of time on the computer and that's why I know a lot about them. [desiplaya2563]
I have spent a good proportion of the last several years figuring out what my computer can do, how and why. So I would have to agree with you about familitiarity building your com skills [sharone74]

I really am not the best so I would have to rate myself and a 7. I am good but not the greatest [delina123]
That is very honest and probably also a low ball estimate. [sharone74]

-10,i got a friend i think he born inside a PC, when i see him, then i know i know nothing,i don't know any of those numbers you can put in run and go to different part and check them.do you? [crosa125]
I know some of them but by no means am I that good to fiddle with all that stuff [sharone74]

I rate myself as a 9 out of 10 in computer skills. But I am not efficient in program, ming. have a very good skill in desktop computing and troubleshooting. [ajaykumarmeher]
By trouble shooting you mean repairing the balance in the Windows server to keep the pc from going under or having to do a system restore? [sharone74]

If the scale is only for internet surfing and Microsoft Office I have to say that my skill are around 9. I use Office about 6 years, at first I teach my self but last year I went to a course and I learned a little more about Acces and Outlook. [scarfaceboston]
There arwe classes that you can take online to learn those applications also. Did you know that you can become certified by Microsoft itself as an expert? [sharone74]

I will rate myself as 8 only. I am not good in programming language but I am a good hardware engineer. [Prince_Magma]
Is that what you do for a living or a sideline. [sharone74]

Id say Ima steady 5. I know my way around the computer and how to access all files on it but can't program or anything like that. [7nicole1]
How long have you been using a computer? [sharone74]

i would rate myself 10 on 10 because i'm a computer science engineer. No jokes. [sensesfail]
I am currently studying for my IT Associates degree online so still I would give myself a solid 9. My computer and communication skills by far outstrip those of many of my classmates. [sharone74]

I'm an IT professional so I would rate myself a 10 in a regular secretary or automation position and an 8 in a well-rounded system administrator position because I'm not an expert at setting up Networks and security. I'm good at administering to the software, being an Oracle DBA, programming languages and fixing hardware. [not4me]
It sounds to me like you know your stuff! [sharone74]

I would rate myself about an 8 or 9. I have no idea how to use Microsoft Office, but Iam sure I could learn real fast if I had the program. [raider1459]
Most employers require their computer using employees to have more than just a basic grasp of how to use MS office Suite [sharone74]

i would have to sa about a 7. but the more tim i spend on it the beter i get. im learning new things from a friend every so often to. [listen2me]
Were you aware that there are learnign tools, tips, and tutorials at Microsoft Office online? They are free and they are great. [sharone74]

I'm pretty good, but not the best. I find it hard to learn programs unless someone actually walks me through it a couple times, but I do catch on very fast. My typing skills are pretty good, but I do hit the backspace button A LOT!!! I'd give myself a 7 out of 10! [Stephanie5]
do you use these skills daily in your workplace enviroment? Do you want to improve those skills. There are free tutorials for all of the MS family of programs on Microsoft.com and a great typing aide is www.learn2type.com [sharone74]

I am a 9 I know a lot about computer but I could know more if my brain would have more room to put it in. It seems I hired a very poor filer and so my brain can no longer hold any but usless information. [Island_Geko]
That is what makes the computer so cool. Because it has a digital brain that never forgets anything. And with the storage options these days you can put unlimited info in there! [sharone74]

I can say probably 8-10. I have had computer classes and the job that I had for 20 years sent me to computer training to do programing on the new system we had coming in. I like computer and I think my next thing I will try is building on. I have wanted to build one from the bottom up. Should be fun. [shooie]
I personally recommend www.Calibex.com for buying Parts or www.newegg.com these are two sites I use myself for buying hardware and periferals. [sharone74]

9.... in my college net speed is 100mbps... its very fast.. its work as a fuel 4 my comp.. my comp has 1gb ram.. and 160gb hard disk.. its really very nice comp.... [aruniitb]
so are you using all that speed to it's fullest potential? [sharone74]

Well i m not expert just expert in chating lolzzz in download i m expert but i will be expert in the other things then u can say that i have skills of good work on computer like...i will know about the softwares how it workss or how can i do work on it... And i m doing alot of hard work for it..in my university... Have fun [umair2hot]

the first word that comes to my mind when i say computers is my first love , amd i really mean that. it's been a such a short span that computers made a real indoors in my life. i am greatly fascinated by them. now about the skill area i have just done my engg. in computer science so knows a sort of programing language like c/c++ java, vb, .net and all that but i want to be an expert. i will rate myself 1/10, computer knowledge is like a ocean and we just have a chunk out of it. to master it u have to be a real genius [justinmackx]

i will rate my skill at level 8, i know some programming language. now i work as web developer. i know about networking, linux, and windows. [iwyrobi]

I would rate my skills in the 6-7 range. [pacodecabra]

I would rate myself a 6 or 7. [amazing_Grace]

well i will rate myself a 7 out of 10 coz i don't know much or programming yet, and not all each and every thing about all the softwares, and nobody can give 10 out of 10 coz he can't be mastered in each and every software in each and every version of operating system even Bill Gates can't rate himself a 10 out of 10 [shahabahmadkhan]

Ownestly I rate my skill level 9.1 of 10 cause I have completed my hardware & software education. Though there is lots of knowlege in networking which i want to collect. [passion_passion77]

Wow! I didnt think about this until I came across this topic. With my typing skills and internet, Id say Im better. but with microsoft skills, I think I should undergo the same tests you did too to get better. [hikarushidou]

I think saying more than 3 for me would be a cheating. [kumarkislay]

I guess I should rate between 7-9 of 10. I am very vast in the use of MSoffice suite (words, excel, powerpoint and visualBasic). Besides, i have an MSc degree in Info Sys. Apart from surfing the web, I use computer on the average of 5hr per day. Computing is indeed my second best wife if ever I have a wife. [ilunice]

I would rate myself as 8 on a scale of 10 in computer skills. [sekhar18k]

I wouldn't say my skills are impeccable but I would say they are Ok...... About 6 out of 10. Hows that? [SiteBy]

My skills are just okay. Not very good.I learned it from my husband.I would rate it as 7 only as I am noy really good. [nishdan01]

for surefing the net...you dunt need ne kinda skill...well...i think i would rate my skill 6 on 10...thy r not tht gr8...but i can manage things... [neha_rulzdaworld]

I am skilled in four diferent operating systems and know alot about programming and do know my way around hardware... so, i would give myself a 5 because although i know alot i am also aware that i don't even possess 1% of all there is to know. [Miornir]

i will rate my skill as a expert because i can handle the computer well in terms of all manners.if it will breakdown then i will able to repair the computer.regarding office application also i do good work with it.i haven't gone to any computer institution for learning the computer. [shivam24]

I'm also a self taught computer guru so to speak. I would rate my computer skills at an 8 or 9. Every job I have held has ended up where I know more about the software or hardware then the other people working there so they all start to come to me with their questions. I think its just one of those skill sets you are more adept at. I'm a hands on type person and excel at things like computers, math and science whereas I wouldn't do well if you were to test my history or geography skills because memorizing facts isn't my thing. :o) [Leanonme2]

I would ratemy computer skill around 4 on the scale of 10 cause according to me the real computer skill for me doesnot lie in just using one application and for me its like if you can run almost anything and also take care of al the problems that windows or other of your programs go through. as for me computer is an experience and i would like to have it more before rating myself any higher. And also i need to learn a lot as per using new softwares such as adoe etc. and have to learn new programming languages and apply them. [raphael_volts]

i can say im not lame but not the best. i can do anything on MS up to surfing. i still lack some knowledge but im competent. i give my self an 8 :) [shangsyndrome]

Personally, I think I'd rank myself about a 3. I just haven't taken the time to learn. [nw1911guy]

Well if the criteria for judging computer skills is the internet surfing skills and mcicrosoft office suite, then i am quite good at i. And can say i am easily 9 out of 10. As i have done computer courses and i also know complete MS office suite. Besides by rpacticisn g on my computer and now using internet i have learnt more. But there is room for lot of imporvement. As i can do programming but i am not an expert at it. And i have to update latests skills. [banta78]
I think I'm a 7 out of 10. I'm good at office, html and general computer issues. But I'm not able to write programs. [coopers87]

I don't want to be a person who carry his own basket :) but I think I am quite good with Microsoft Office Application, especially the Microsoft Words and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Other than that I can use a little of Publisher. lol... that's all... [ladysurvivor]

I guess I can rate myself at 7/10. Will have to take a test of Office 2007....am excited & will definitely have a take! [muralimullapudi]

well i'm an network engg and i solve the hardware problem also. so i rank myself 9 of 10 [jitendrakarira]

I would rate overall my skills at 7 on a scale of 10 when it comes to the whole computer knowledge, but when it comes to the basic level like using internet, MS office, etc, i would rate it definitely at 9 out of 10. [milott]

I can work my way around most softwares. Being young and having grown up around electronic gadgets, I guess I can do well in suc tests. [charmedguyp1]

i think I will rate myself 9, since I have access in the internet I always see to it that I have time to check new softwares that came in the market. I really don't want to be left around. With the kind of job I have I must be up to date so that my employer will notice my improvements. [rhie0216]

i would rate myself around 7 as i am good at office 2003 and know a lot of other system cleaning concepts, little bit good at hardware trouble shooting and very good at networking and as far as programming is concerned i use wysiwyg softwares to design websites. [mdzafaruddin]

I would rate my computer skill level at about a 9 since computers are always changing and there is new things to learn constantly. I am pretty good at getting around Windows XP and using the programs on my computer but am not a whiz kid of any sort. I have Office 2003 on my computer right now and I am familiar with most of the programs on it. I also am able to use the internet easily and find what I am looking for online. [kgwat70]

Using the computer is not only Micrsoft or Internet. People use many softwares in their offices to make work easy.Basically we use micrsoft project and Primavera. We also use MS-Word, excel and power point. I do all works effectively related to these softwares. No one is perfect and i rate 8/10 of my skills here. [Himanshu007]

i would say im a confident 9, i can understand most things perfect but i am still learning everyday. [adobeman]

i would have to say a 7 because i still dont knoe about a couple programs that I am suppose to know! [michele609]

id be at 10. :) i know programming and i know how to edit photos. i know how to animate too! :P and im good at playing computer games :P bohahaha [ieaiaio]

I am a computer software/hardware instructor and have been teaching people how to be proficient with their Equipment and software. I have been doing this for 20 years now, so I would put my computer skills at 9.8 out of 10. I am the short cut king and love to show people how they can out perform their co-workers using keyboard short-cuts. It's a lot of fun learning. [WebMann]

my computer skills are just the basic pretty much. out of 10 it would probly be 6 1/2- 7 [cowboys33]

wow! thats great. 8.3 out of 10 is good. i dont think i will be able to give that many points because i do not have a good idea about ms office. so i would give about 6 may be. and after seeing this post i thought "why shouldn't i learn ms office?". hey thanks for reminding. i have enough time to learn now . so i will start it tomm. [elixer]

I'd rate myself 8-9. I sit at the computer all day, but I've yet to learn things such as programming and web design, but I'll be learning those next term. Other than that, you could probably call me an advanced user, because I know alot of things, and I'm the guy you call if you need computer help in this town :P [Yuusha]

i think i'd rate mine a 20 because i'm far superior to anyone i know as far as computer knowledge is concerned... [hellfire]

i would rate my skills 8 out of 10. i know the basics evrything. if theres somethin new i pick it up pretty quicky. peace out. [Prodigy10]

i can surf the web, read and send emails and make simple websites using HTML [tellus]

i think im an 8. whenever there's a problem with the computers of my officemate, they ask me to check it out and have it repaired (though the repairs are just minor). the IT department is quite far from our department and so its really up to us to have our own pc repair some minor problems. [tinapay]

i think am giving myself a 9. i just have this special love for computers. i think having been always using computer, am pretty good at it. [cuddleme01]

i will give myself 6/10 as i dont know the abc of programming. but if u talk about microsoft office i'll give myself 9/10. [limo_2005]

I think I'm on the scale of 7. I'm very much familiar and skilled using MS Office 2003 suite and currently on training for the 2007. I've familiarize myself with Microsoft XP Professional and now on training for vista. I've been using adobe softwares for a few years now - macromedia, photoshop and illustrator. But, I can consider myself as an expert. I may need to do test my skills first. :P [haze06]

well its good ! but i am not up to the mark ! the world is full of people who are smart as whip ! so i am just a small geek in front of them ! then also ! will tell you something bout me in brief ! i am master in internet terminology ! i am good in HTML + flash ! i have fare programming skills in c/c++ , JAVA , UNIX ! [manu_ghimire]

My skill level..? Hmm.. Let's see.... I say... 1337/1337. [mazmoaz]

hmm...to make it even i rate myself 7, i can say im a fast learner and when i do speed drills i type pretty much fast. [cuhkiz]

Hi. With that said above. I would have to rate my computer skills possibly around a 3 or 4. I haven't used Microsoft works, office and things like that on my computer. however I do see it is installed for my use. I do online banking and such but haven't used any tools that came installed with my computer. I have used my computer for like 4 years now and outside of all of the Microsoft or other things installed on my computer, I would have to rate my typing and abiltity to use the internet at like a 8 or 9. [stephcjh]

I rate my PC skills at about 8 out of 10. People always come and ask me how do you do this, how do you do that when at work or, especially my family. The thing is there is so much to learn and you can always learn new things. I had a conversation with someone the other day and we agreed that it doesn't really matter how many courses you go on to improve your PC skills, a) there will always be something else to learn and b) you only really remember all of the various things if you actually use them on a regular basis. [bananamanuk]

i'll scale myself 6 out of 10 [stella1989]

I've got a few certifications myself, MCSE,A+,Network+ and a few more...i would rate myself a 9/10 cause i still got a long way too go [Silverkid]

I had my 1st PC back in 1992 and since then i use a PC.I rate myself at 8.4 / 10 [Psofimi]

i would give myself a 5 out of ten to my computer skills [myfriendz]

Unfortunately, the laptop that my hubby bought 2 years ago has alot of slowness and the mic don't work. I would rate it a 5.9 [sharon613]

I would rate myself a 7 but because of Excel. I am very good at the other programs, but it doesn't matter how many courses I take on excel I always have questions about it. The grids, cells, charts confuse me a lot. [mdilan]

I w1ould rate myself to 5/10,because I only try to work with the movie editing,I rarely use MS-office,so I rate myself to 5/10. [6sa6an6]

I would say I can rate myself with an 8 or higher, I've already almost memorized most of the short cuts for office applications since started using it way back when I was still high school student and our computers back then didn't have a mouse still. and when i worked, it's all office, like word and excel everyday for more than 10 years :) [eolivan]

I am very familiar with Microsoft Office 2003, but I haven't tried Office 2007. Also, I know something about other operating system softwares... I have a good master of Microsoft XP because I have used it for more than 3 years.. But I know little about computer hardware. I would like to rate my computer skill level at 6. [randyequal]

i would rate myself a 7 in computer skills.. [firstofficer2007]

From 1 to 10, I will rate my self 8.8,as I have my own Internet Cafe, I learn a lot about Computer. How to trouble shoot, Basic Networking, and using different Application. [susana25]

On a scale of 10 I would rate myself 8 for the knowledge of computers. Now I have a computer for more than 5 five years and in this five years I have done a lot of experiments with my computer. In due to this I know a lot of things about the machine. Also I have done a hardware course on the same which helps me repairing it if it has a minor problem. And I think this much knowledge is is very much essential if we want to move further in any field these things always helps us in were basics and fundamentals when we use computers [amitavroy]

I would have to rate my skills at maybe a four . I can do alot more then most of my fiends on the computer but if I have to figure something out it would still take me days to find out what I want to be able to do . But I find this a big improvement since I first got my computer as this was only six and a half years ago and at that time I didn't even know how to turn the comuter on and had to ask one of my children . So although I don't believe my computer skills are the best I do believe I am a quick learner with computers . [samtaylorskykierajen]

Well as Im not much into computer skills,I only know the basics, but Im a quite learner, but all the same I would say that Im a 5,which isnt too bad ;) [Tynnac]

sorry im really zero in computers ,the only thing i know is to just surf nets!!! but you said you wont take that in account so im"o" well basically im a biology student!!!, but ater i got my new pc i fell like im quite intrested in computers too!!! i have asked my parents to arrange for a computer tutor ,may b this may month i will be introduced to computer world:-) ill let you know my experience if your interested:-D [shana123]

Learning through trial and error, I have becoma a lot more adept than I ever thought I would, I would have to get myself a 7, leaning toward 8,lol. [pendragon]

i am very skilled in computers and i can give myself 9 of 10 bcause first of all i m doing computer science engineering and i spend min 6 hours in front of computer every day starting from the day i bought it that is 3years ago and i do many experiments on computer, solve the problems on my own and i play computer games alot.....gaming is the shortest way to know about the computers and i m saying this from my experience so keep playing, have a lots of fun as i think computers r in first place in both entertainment and information. [mayamber]

well i think i am good in typing and that too fast.about surfing i am quite good at that too,i mean i am quite good at finding things from the net and using it in the best possible way! [sanjivbiswas]

ive been working in the IT industry for 5years now, i am into building networks (WAN).i would rate my skill at around 9, im a computer engineer by the way. [jgahiton]

I am probably at a 6. I usually called my kids when I get stuck. I am familliar with word, outlook, and a little bit of excel. I did not know there were a free trial of office 2007. I probably can checking into that one, who knows I might be motivated to improve. [venshida]

8, I can put them together and such. I can do everything else a normal user could. I can't program anything though, so I'll leave those last 2 points for things like that [stiggy]

IF its all about net surfing and office than i can rate myself at 9 on a scale of 10. [cooldudepankaj]

My skill level probably is a 5. There are alot of thing you don't know about the computer. No one could know everything. I know my ways around my computer. I have create a couple of website. I have write couple of programs. My major is in computer science. But I am no 10. [monkeykingaround]

To be truthful, My computer skills are around six on a scale from one to ten. I know a little bit about some things, but If someone had to depend on my knowledge in the workplace, they wouldn't get far. [kataztrophy]

I would rate myself at 6 in computer skills...I have heard about Office 2007 trial suite...I rate myself so low coz I believe that we should always remain a learner...We should never think that I have learned enough specially in Computer field...I will remain at 6 my entire life [Silver98]

Using computers for a good tens years and taking classes from computer programming, web page design, networking, computer repair, etc I say I'm around 6. I say this because while I do use the computer a lot, surfing the internet :) , I haven't practically used these skills in a long time and have been out of the loop in some of the areas I've listed. I'm mainly do computer repair and web page design now so my skills have done down in the other areas plus I need to learn now Windows Vista and learn more about the Pentinum Duo 2s, 64-bit technology and the upcoming 4s. The ever changing world of computers, you got to love it :P . [azstraph]

My rate in computer skills i think is around 8-9 of 10 . I know very well 3D graphics . I know office. I know a bit of c++ programing. And i want to learn game development but i will probably make no games because i can not earn money right now. [bogdyyyyy]

well...... frankly I would give myself a rating of 6 on 10 when it comes to my skills in using office but I jus came to know abt office 2007!!! I shall try it out.... [kiran_raj]

You are a 9 if a 8.3 and i am learning that my skills are in need of a refresher course. I loaded Norton security Works (2005 version)and it took me 4 hours to reaize it was interfering with my web access. Finally though I uninstalled my network adapters, dumped Norton and now life is good again. As for MS Office, I think I rate a 6.4 [penfree]

I would rate my skill level at 3, perhaps 4. I know the minimum basics to work with computers. [jricbt]

The office programs really dont change that much, they get minor updates, but if your good at 2003, 2007 shouldnt be much different. In office Id say Im a 7. [cautionjump]

I give myself a 7 for my computer skills. I know how to use the programs I need. I can do all the basic things with it that are important. I cant program myself. But I dont need that too. And I can solve some my computer problems if they occur. I learn by facing the same things over and over again. Internet is off again, lets go shut off the pc, reset the modem, look at the wireless router etc etc. Eventually call the helpdesk for it. And get always the same answer. The fault is not with us, it must be with you........... But I can manage quite well. [nickynic]

i tnink i would rate it about 9 [raghed80]

I havent taken such a test of sorts...But as far as job and employer being concerned i am a software professional so i am very very good at my so called computer skills i have good control over the functioning of Microsoft office all features including access word power point exce3l front page etc... And for me the computer skills just don't include how to use office but i also know programming in several languages and also have some command over the hardware part of the computers [jaizdeep]

I haven't yet looked into Office 2007 suite or Windows Vista, but I would rate my self a 10/10 for my skills with Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Publisher. I took a class on them and know everything about them, you guys are so wrong about not taking a class :) You learn how to use it, but also learn the tips and tricks. Being a webmaster, I would rate myself with an 8/10, since I have nearly perfect my HTML skills, but still need work...of course, I don't know CSS very well, and do not know PHP, but you don't Need those skills to create a website. I know the everything needed including HTML, MySQL, and how to use FTP. That's all you need to know in my opinion. One of my newer, but worse looking sites is over at runetraders.110mb.com, trying to make a RuneScape database, then earn some easy cash from ads lol. But if you look for the original template I used at freewebtemplates.com, you will see I have some skill :P One of my better sites at Avid-Gamers.com though is currently not up, and won't be 'till I pay my hosting fee again. It's a gaming site I made. Graphics are really good, made by a friend at freeweb-templates.com, a friend owns that site, but I did some change to the sidebar and added SSI to the sidebar, so useful if you have many pages! Of course, I can't host it on free hosting now because it needs .htaccess, which no free host I know of allows. 110mb.com will eventually, but I don't know if I want a site I consider proffesional to be on a free host, you know? Plus, thier servers aren't as fast as my paid host at mercness.net.au, and FTP doesn't load as fast :/ Well, I can see I kinda drifted there, sorry :) I am just so bored right now! [Yuripro84]

Probably a five for computer skills. But surfing skills are really high because what I don't know I can find! [danbumpy]

about a 8 I had to take a lot of classes in School and I remember most of them. I enjoy playin around on the puter not only the net [kruell_intentionz]

I rate my computer skills with 6 of 10 and this as a general ofcourse [smily_skull]

my computer skills are poor and so is my typing so if I make a few mistakes , you know why, Out of ten , I would give myself three, Im really bad at it [Robbie085]

I haven't taken an assessmemt, but I'd say I'm about an 8 of 10. Everyone can use a little more learning in things! :) [steffylikewoah]

I could not guess my own stuff but i like to say that i am strong Multimedia applications on computers. [vekyengineer]

I would say my skills to the pc are up to 8 or 9. I know lots of programs and a variety of them and most of them very very well. But what you are saying about the microsoft site really intrigues me. Please, share the address I have to visit in order to do the same. [remaster74]

My computer skills is 11 LOL. I am pretty good and if you have any questions , send me private message. [coolguy01]

probably a 6 or 7 because i know how to do mist things and i sm taught something i catch on real quick [kennisha4eva]

I would rate myself to 7 maybe! I am also a self taught person from html to flash. Online tutorials really helps me a lot! [js_thomas02]

Office is a doozy, I am studying html and php now that would impress any employer, sorry to blow my own trumpet. 8!!! [destinycole]

well i rate myself a 6.4 out of 10.. if u ask me [blueboy249]

i will say about a 7 or 8, does office web page offers a page where you can rate your office skills? if you have that page, please give it to me so i can really measure my skills, case the measure i give you is an estimated rating [felicas83]

As far as end-used stuff -- able to use Office, etc. -- I'd give myself a 9 or 10. Support and trouble-shooting computers, about a 6 or 7. I still get my boyfriend's help for most of the big snafus. Coding, installing scripts on webpages, etc, I'm about a 7. I'm pretty fluent in html, I can edit PHP, but can't code it from scratch. That's one of this year's tasks. Hardware is the area where I'm pretty much hopeless. Any mechanical malfunctions are pretty much out of my league. [MsRetro]

am quite good at computer - general skills of course, not really into software or hardware. can work on word, excel and powerpoint. so, rate myself above 9. [kishchun]

well basically i would consider myself as a computer engineer. i would rate my self same as my rating on mylot. seven out of ten. [keminem001]

I rate my computer with a 8, its not bad [Xixanatola]

My rate my computer skills a 5-6 not an expert [ciano1]

Probably a 6. Around average. I'm not great, but I do know some. [cplpacesgirl]

Hmm i must say i know pretty much about computers - programming in 3 languages VB , Pascal, C++ . Aditionally i know JAva Script , PHP, MySql and HTMl of course ;) And yet i know some basics on 3dStudioMAx, AUtoCad and some other :) I know Office as well as OpenOffice :) So i would rate myself something 8.9 since there are so many people who knows much more about all this stuff then i do :) [korek222]

Well I type slow. But I have a workable knowledge of building sites and doing graphics. I am self taught. I have built all of my sites and done banners for several others. So I'm going to say I'm around a 7 - 8 [BDnLacy]

I've been around computers most of my life, but I can't say that I know anything about Office 2003 *laugh* I did used to know how to work in DOS, but that is pretty much obsolete nowadays, at least for the most part. I honestly am not sure where my computer skills would rate. It depends on what you're exactly defining as skill. I am a good typist, I know a lot about the internet, and if a computer has a minor problem i can probably take care of it. But in a professional sense, i probably don't know all that much. [shywolf]

Definently a 9. I can easily learn any program without reading the documentation. For some reason I am very good at anything to do with technology. For instance I can pick up any video game and start playing it within seconds never asking about the controls like other people seem to. I had a computer since I was about 7 and started learning HTML around 11 or 12 so this might haave something to do with it. [jihad4lyfe]

I would rate myself as 5, actually I am only particular with some computer programs like Dreamweaver, Flash, Visual Basic and Java but I am not good with Corel Draw and Adobe Photoshop and other things that's related to graphics. [faylinn_chaeli]

Maybe on a easy test a 2...I am very new to all of this ...just learned how to copy and paste a month ago ...still trying to learn html codes and how to use them its all very fun and interesting to learn though .I will keep at it until I am able to do the things I would like... [lifeiseasy]

I would say only a 5. I do think I am extremely good with computers. So why do I rate myself so low?? Because when you think about computer hackers and those sort of people with all that knowledge, I look pretty lame to them!! lol [mchoneyz]

Wow, I remember that same question being asked to me by my interviewer 2 years ago. She asked me how I would rate myself in terms of technical skills with a range of 1 to 10. I answered a perfect 10 and she got back at me by telling me I got a failing score in my technical skills. She asked me why I rated myself 10 when in fact I flunked my test. I answered "well, I rated myself 10 because I know in my heart that if you hire me, I'll quickly adapt to the technical nature of the job since my technical skills are hibernating right now." Believe it or not, I got hired. Lol! :) [xtedaxcvg]

I say my computer skills are 6, I have some hacker (PROTECTING PEOPLE COMPUTERs) help block out trojans and make my own firewall via a command prompt. LOL go in to system bios by just pressing one button. [Mecboy]

I'd call myself about a 7. No expert by any means but I can use most programs and software. Plus now I can program in C++. Not that I'll probably ever use that outside of my engineering courses, but hey I can still do it. [alantae]

probably a 3 because i can do the basics but not the hi-tec stuff [candygurl093]

Hm im quite okay in using microsoft office etc2.. but not excellent.. just basic2 stuff that can be used in the work. So i will rate maybe around 7.5 out of 10 :) [babydolphin]

I rate my computer skill a 9/10 because there is some stuff I don't know yet, but nothing can stop me from getting better than anything. Just give me any application and I'll figure out how to use it in a few minutes. [mchu519]

i have my computer skills around 5 [samdashing]

a freakin 10 cuz i am the smartest one in my house right now yeah yeah boooy [DARKANGELKORN]

I am an Oracle Certified Professional Database Administrator. 2 Years ago I took a bunch of computer tests on BrainBench. I started using computers in the early 80's. Based on that I would say my computer skills and how I feel about them are 8.9 Michael [beachbumis]

I would do better as a computer tech. I do better with digging inside the computer than with office programs. Althought I make applets with other programs that I use. Artwise I am pretty good. Office level 5..other programs maybe 8-9 [Kackie3]

i rate myself over all as 8 out of 10. im proficient in dreamweaver, macromedia flash 8, 3D studio max, coreldraw 12, adobe photoshop CS and etc. also im knowledgeable in hardware/software troubleshooting and networking. too bad no programming for me. [latteralusss]

i know some computer skills like mutimedia and office skills so i will rate myself as 3 point [bhu143]

i hav not gone for any classes on operating computers or working with microsoft office . i can rate myself with 7 or something [Stunner_rocks]

i have a lot of computer skills.... do u know something... "i am going to be the next bill gates..." i will give (6/10) to me... i know a lot and still have to learn more than lot... and i will. [starpawan]

For the hardware part i think i am 9 maybe alitle more and on the software part i think an 8.I instaled windows 98 on the first week after i bought my fist computer and without any help and i finished some collage in IT so i think 8 it's ok. [reptile84_2006]

mmmm............. i think i'll give myself a 7 on 10 ..... not too good ... nor too bad [hiddenidentity]

I think I am probably at 8.7. [nzk786]

well computer skills in terms of hardware i can say 8 out 10.. in computer troubleshooting within os (xp,2k,ME,98,etc)9/10 tweaking 8/10 software troubleshooting, tweaks installation 8.75/10 using the software provided basic information on it 9/10 office majority (7/10) but for word 9/10 [ashraine]

Probabely a 8 because i am good with computers [Sabertooth1234567890]

i am an advance computer user and programmer ... i know many facts history and having power to automate any thing (which is ficible), i have good knowledge of os like dos/windows/unix/nowellnetware/linux i have mastry on many languages (i am working as software trainer and wisting faculty at many collages, just teaching languages) like c c++ java orracle vc++ c# vb .net and many more ..... i know networking , microprocessors .... so i thing i must have to rate me as 10 out of 10... [dholey]

I am into programming ,so i wud rate myslef high on that aspect, but as far as office applications are considered , my skills are just about ok, enough to do the documentations or prezsentations every now n then, my score for my skills wud be 6/10 for office applications. [deepuj]

I do not specialise in any specific field because I do not use a computer for work. That said... my computer is my hobby and I have spent more time on my computer in the last 12 years than I do at work. Dreamweaver and Paintshop Pro would be the two programs I use the most and I would rate myself 7/10 on those. But besides that... I have a general knowledge on how to use dozen of programs... Also have a strong general knowledge about hardware. I build my own computers. And my knowledge of the Windows operating system would be like 8/10. All this add up to me knowing more about computers than any office worker using the same program everyday of the week. I think I would make a great maintenance manager for any office and again would rate myself 8/10. The only thing preventing that happening is that I have not learned about Network because I did not had the use for it at home. [Aussies2007]

i am working as software engineer. so i may rate 7 [smanipasu]

10. I can type pretty fast. I can download things, edit pictures, scan things, boot people off, burn cds, I can repair my computer even and reformat it on my own. I have gone a long way I believe. [marief2rnurse]
