We all have computers but we use them for different reasons. Some use them for playing games, some for internet and many more options within the internet, others to write, other for business, others for some softwares, others for picture editing. The possibilities are endless! What do YOU use the computer for?
Personally I use the computer for the internet. I do the paying sites, MySpace, yahoo, msn, myLot, CashPosting, SurfaceRipple -Teen Community, and many other websites. I also use the computer to chat with my friends via MSN Messenger and AIM.

Like you, I primarily use the computer for internet. I communicate with friends all the time by friendster, I mylot and I always check my e-mail for any transactions. I have 3 computers that we use in my house, I use one desktop for Pogo, and reading email. My laptop is used for mylot, associated content, pogo and surfing and digital imaging and backing up photos. My other desktop is used for digital imaging and surfing. and my kids to play on..... Computers have to be taken seriously can be a earning member of the family with minimum maintenance. I use the computer in my part time to earn extra bucks working from home and am seriously thinking of a full time profession. Information of anything under the sun can be made available on the net. Yes I agree with all the points you made here. This is pretty much why I quite playing online games, you just get addicted too easily. I have a very strong bond with my family and we talk and sit down at the table to eat etc. We also have regular family outings in restaurants and stuff. Never would I put off going out somewhere with my family of my friends just to be online, that is just an obsession. I agree that the time kids spend on the computer should be controlled. I think the large part of the blame is in the hand of the parents. They parents of these children should be more strict and not 'connect' their kids to the computer and video games to entertain them and not have to care for them. This is wrong and as parents they should do something about this. My mom is constantly telling me not to use the computer so much and to go outside to play etc. And I do, I ride bike and I go to the gym with my sister about 3 times a week :-D So yeah I am on the computer a lot but I still manage to maintain a healthy and social life style at the same time ;-) Thank you for your response :-) Rated +. My computer is used to maintain my business and attend college - it's a distance learning program through the University of Maryland University college, so all of my courses are 'net based. Once upon a time it was hanging in fashion and handicraft sites and harvesting ideas from them! But on Nov. 17th last year I joined myLot and found out, there is a possibility to make money on the net... Now 3/4 of the time I'm spending there is connected with business. Now I'm harvesting freebies to study it, or spending time collecting advertising credits from my endless safelist e-mails, or doing surf exchange to make my ads shown. There was couple of days I hadn't time to do it at all, and it ended up with over 2700 unread mails in my inbox... arrgghhhh! And every day about 350 new mails are coming in. Unfortunately I have open them all because I have no money to buy credits but I've done good job during the first days of my vacation. I checked a minute ago, and there aren't more than 2010 yet LOL! i have lots of uses for my computer. i edit and store my videos and photos here. i also watch movies in my DVD installed in my computer. i also play solitaire here. but mostly, i use my computer for my internet connection. firs of all, it's through the internet where i connect to my boyfriend who lives so far from me. we chat everyday and thus, making the distance smaller between us. i also use the internet in connecting with friends. that's why i always check my friendster account to see if my friends have sent me messages or have new updates on their profiles as well. i also earn through the internet. i start with myLot and my earnings here, i invest online. and i am happy i did it. there are lots of things i can do with my computer. but most importantly, i have my internet for it. very useful... anywhere, everywhere, anytime, all the time. .. anne [maryannemax]

My favorite use is configuration. I am just not happy with any of my many computers unless there is something to do on it. I am constantly swapping parts and playing with the operating system. Right now one computer is running Windows XP, one Gentoo Linux with dual monitors, one Kubuntu Linux, and the other is my file server which runs Red Hat. Every day at work I look forward to coming home and configuring one or two of my computers. I only wish there were more hours in the day so I could give each of them a turn. [boomshiki]

I use my computer to keep a track of the price movements of my unit trusts. I also use my computer to read paid e-mails and click on ads in 2 programs. I figured instead of joining one e-mail program and spend all that time and only get the minimum payout which is usually $10 or more, I joined 12 e-mail programs so at the end of the year I can at least get $100 for the time spent. Computer can be used for a variety of purposes.. I use my computer for photo designing, checking my mails, also for entertainment such as hearing musics, seeing videos, playig games etc... I'm also interested in programing... As an enigineering student I use to check some programs and downloading documents related to my studies from internet.. Without a doubt, my favourite use for the computer used to be playing online games. I would spend virtually 10-12 hours a day on these things. It was really affecting my life. I never play online games anymore and spend most of my time on the computer doing work things or in discussion forums like mylot. I am like you, I am using my computer more for internet that for another thing, I like play games online, and using the messenger, I like watch videos on youtube and so on, I think I don't like much to do things offline, I prefer to do all online, I prefer to type in my text processor that to write in a paper, I think there is a lot of thinks you can do with a computer, and it depends of each person, some like mess online with games, another people like chat with unknown people, now I am trying to use my computer and connection to earn so money online, but I have find it is very hard starting, but I know some friend that they are doing good with them business online, I think it is the best of the computer, it can give you a lot of fun, and it can also feed you.
