What Room In Your Home Is Your Computer In

I have my computer in my livingroom. I would like to move it to my bedroom, but I don't have a phone jack in that room of the house. Plus with it being in my livingroom is makes it a little easier to keep an eye on the children when I'm on the internet and it lets me keep an eye on my 7 year old daughter if she gets on the internet too. What room in your home is your computer in?

Hello singlemommy I have a laptop computer with wireless internet and so I don't keep it in a specific room. I just take my computer with me in whatever room I'm in. [Transdisc]
Well then, does it fit on your lap? rasp Kidding. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~ [webeishere]

happy I have a regular office set up with all the stuff that is always in an office so I dont move arround, my puters are desk tops and I have a huge desk with tons of stuff on it and desk drawers that will need to be cleaned out lol [eaforeman6]
I always seem to clutter up my computer desk, so don't feel bad about needing to clean out your desk drawers. It would be nice to have a small office though. Thanks for the comment. Happy MyLotting! [singlemommy]

my computer is in my bed room... I couldn't have it anywhere else either. it would really bug me to have it out in the living room or something. i can't stand people being able to see what i'm doing lol even though i'm not doing stuff i shouldn't be... i just don't like someone standing over me and watching.. i also just feel more comfortable in my room and i'm almost 21 so lol i'm parents don't need to keep an eye on what i'm doing..wink [sameroad]
I can understand about not wanting anyone looking over your shoulder. I'm single so the only people I normally have to worry about is my children and I never do anything that they shouldn't see, so it's all good. Thanks for commenting! [singlemommy]

I have a computer and a laptop in my bedroom, another computer in the living room, and another computer in my sisters bedroom. It doesn't really matter, but keeping an eye on them is important, a child should be responsible. I am still in school so i should now. There is alot of content all over the internet which can be exposed to everyone. So i find it responsible to leave the computer in the living room. I had no internet on my computer and laptop for a while, until my parents deemed it neccessary to give me the internet. I am totally responsible and believe it to, when i become a parent that the computer should be in the living room, i would not mind if they use social online networks and IM, but NO adult content and etc. [itrungs]

I have my computer in my bedroom, I like it in my bedroom because, I can close my door and be in my room alone, with out any one bothering me, when I am here online I don't like people calling me, asking me to do things, when I here online I had my computer in my living room once, when I had a older model, but I moved it to the bedroom.happy [notlistening2]

well the home computer is in the main house room in front of everyoen they were there for a logn time bcuz my parents want to keep an eye one us nad htat is their right and they shud do it now my laptop is always moving arnd! happy lottin and have a niceday [thecrazyjogger]

Both of our laptop is just in living room. Though we can carry it with us in our because it has wifi. We decided just to leave it in bedroom. NO laptop or computer inside in the bedroom. It is because my husband said he does not want to compete with the computer and vice versa. So, if we are in the bedroom our time is just for each other. Being in the living room, it is where we can do things what we want like watching tv or surfing in the net. [jstmarfz]

We have our computers in the computer room. It used to be one of our son's bedrooms, and the other bedroom is now the guestroom. Our sons are all grown and moved out, and what happened was when one of the sons first moved, the other son moved into his room, and left the bedroom for the computers. Sounds very confusing, because there was a lot of grading up and replacing, until now my husband has his computer and I have mine. [suspenseful]
His and Hers computers, that's really cool. That's really a great idea. Thanks for the comment and Happy MyLotting! [singlemommy]

wow how nice you have your own PC in your house, well, ammm, i have no PC in my house i only go to the internet cafe if i'm going to log in my my lot, yeah that's what i always if im going to log in my mylot account..xd..i wish i have my own pc someday, have a nice day to you. god bless you more...advance merry christmass,,, [venz_punk44]

I have a desk top computer and it is place in my room. the computer is in my room at the second floor and the phone is in the first floor in the living room. The guy from the telephone company said that we should have two phone jacket but we never do it. You don't need two phone jacket. [katkat]

My computer is in my bedroom and i have a desk and in the desk the computer!! i do it homeworks and things like that. well have a nice day and hope you will have a very good week ;) see you soon and bye bye. [theembittered]

Mine along with my husbands/kids computer is in the office room. We both have our own computers and desks. I have my own while my husband shares with the kids. He got me mine cause I do so much on it and do things like surveys and auctions to get extra money. It is nice too as it is right off the living room so it isnt hard to check on kids If I happen to be out in another room. It used to be in the living room but once we added on another room so that we would have a bigger bedroom we made our old bedroom into an office for me. I have a sweetie! [Ithink]
It sounds like you do have a sweetie! That really is nice that you have your own computer and it sounds like you do alot of good things with it though. Thanks for the comment! Happy MyLotting! [singlemommy]

My computer is in my spare bedroom. I also have a laptop and I can take it in any room I go to. [babystar1]

hi Singlemommy =) i have my laptop inside my room, near my bed or sometimes on the desk but still inside my room..i have all the computer equipments i need in here, that wat makes me so comfy being in here all day haha..but not just that, i need a high concentration to do my programming, thats why i feel peace in this room n i always bring watever i need to this room lol.. [shalli17here]

I am having it on my living room.. The initial plan was to have it in the bedroom but that didnt work so somehow I had it in my living room. [joystick7]

Right now mine's in our "computer room"/office. We actually have 2 in this room. When my kids were younger I always had the computer in the living room for the same reasons as you. People would think it was strange to have the computer in the living room until I explained it was easier to see what was going on that way. [reinydawn]

the computer is in my parents bedroom...though there wasnt much space in their bedroom to keep the computer ...they insisted on keeping it there as they knew very well that if the computer would have been in my room i would have sat up late hogging the internet all night..... so atleast when its in their room tehy can tell me to log off when they turn into their beds..... [shonali]
Sounds like your parents know you very well. happy Thanks for the comment! [singlemommy]

Our computer is in the dining room. It's at a desk in the corner and is really centrally located for us. It's important that it is visible as we have a 10 year old and a 14 year old and we can monitor their usage this way.happy [rocketj1]

My computer is in the basement in the family room. Sometimes I would like to have it on the ground floor of the house, especially when I am making order or cooking dinner. That way I don't have to keep going up and down the stairs. [lilybug]
Oh, the last house I lived in before I moved into the one I'm in now was a split level house. I hated it when I had my computer in the basement, I was always having to run up and down the stairs so I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. Happy MyLotting! [singlemommy]

I have a computer room that min is in. But when my kids were both younger and at home I always kept it in the living room for the very reason that you mentioned. I felt like I could monitor their use better that way. I never liked the idea of giving a child total alone time on the computer. My theory is an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! LOL I didn't stand over top of them or anything but sometimes just your presence can work wonders LOL My advice is leave it there until she gets older. [fasttalker]
Oh yes, I plan on doing that. You can really never be TOO safe when it comes to your children. Thanks for commenting and Happy MyLotting! [singlemommy]

My computer is in our smaller bedroom. Our house is not too big, so is the livingroom. If we put it into the livingroom, it looks very crowded. Now no one lives in the smaller bedroom, so it's OK for the computer. But when my daughter grows up, I have to move it. [yaoyuan15]

The computer is located at the living room area and I'm not the only one using this computer. My sister, brother, father as well as my cousins are using this computer. So now I'm hoping that I could have a laptop computer and I will buy a wireless router so that I can use the laptop anywhere in our house. Also having my own privacy that I can store my files that no one can have access unless they have my permission. But buying a laptop is so expensive especially buying the good ones. If I could save money for it from my salary, it will take years to fulfill. So now I'm just hoping for a laptop.lol [anne12d]

Hello Single Mommy, My computer is at my bedroom and I have a Land phone with it also. I did not the meaning of living room. I have no idea about a living room. What is it ? I heard about bed room, drawing room, dining room...etc. But not about a living room. My computer is in my bedroom. so no one is allowed to touch on it without my consent. I can access my computer at late night also. I can close my door and use adult contents also. [originator]
A living room is the tv room or sitting room, usually the first room when you walk into the house. [_sketch_]

My computer is in my living room right beside my tv. [darkjedi]

Mines in the living room. It had to be near a phone jack, plus i like to have the tv on while online..although i don't actually watch it. Plus there was no where else to put it. [pheonixstar1982]
You can install a TV Tuner on your computer. You can even set the program as your wallpaper so you can use your computer while waiting for your favorite program by checking on your desktop. [modstar]

Well, when I was growing up, and when I was on my own, renting rooms or with my own place, the computer was in my bedroom. It was where I spent most of the time, where I had privacy without people looking over my shoulder. Sure some of it had to do with where I browsed, but most of it related to privacy when working, and sending business and personal emails, I feel more free to write what I really mean when I don't have someone looking over it. Now that I'm moved in with the fiancee, and there's more room in the living room, we both have our computers setup out here. Helps when watching the 2 yr old that is running around. It also helps because I watch a lot of shows on my machine (no tv and a big monitor, it makes sense), and things are lined up so that my computer is also basically the entertainment center. I like it, and I still can do what I need to do. [Quirkly]

It is in the study room of mine which I use as the home office. [balasri]

My computer is in my bedroom. [_sketch_]

LOL--I have a similar predicament. My computer is in the living room which is what I prefer as there would be no room for a set up in the bedroom..my computer desk is immense. There's no phone jack in my living room, but in the hallway some 25 feet away so I solved the problem by getting a really loooonnnnggggg phone cord...50 feet to be exact...I have the cord running behind the desk against the wall, then behind the sofa, then snakes around a bit on the other living room wall, then I hammered in a nail on the wall to lift the cord up from the floor...more nails up along the wall and over the door of my closet then down on the wall where finally the phone jack is...okay a bit weird looking but the way it's arranged my lovely cats can't get to the phone line cable and think it's a toy to play and chew on. How far away is the bedroom to the living room..maybe you could do the same wacky kind of arrangement I have...it does work and haven't had any problems with this arrangement....LOL.. [pyewacket]
Oh wow. You would have to have a LONG phone cord for that, huh? happy I think I would rather pay someone to put in a phone jack for me. My dad actually knows how to do it, but he lives 200 miles from me, so maybe when he is up visiting he will have time to do that for me. Thanks for the comment! Happy MyLotting! [singlemommy]

I have a desk top in a small room off the living room but I use my lap top most of the time cause i can take it everywhere in the house or on the porch. [rick_d]

My computer is in my room because i am the only one who uses it and i do not allow other people who comes to my house other than my family and boyfriend use my computer because I do not know what they will be doing and i am not trying to get a virus or anything. [MizzLadyB08]

My computer is located in my bedroom. I will be working with my computer till I sleep. I'm happy with it... [karthickvr]

hello singlemommy, My computer is in our bedroom. So my family and I are doing all the research works, play, chat and the likes there. Though we can also move to other place in the house for we're using laptop now. Unlike before, we're still using computer. So most likely we're stuck there. So, if our kids want to use it, they'll just bring it anywhere in the house to do their thing especially if I or we are sleeping. But if they need to print or do the scan they'll do it in our room. Have no computer room for our house is just small. [robert19ph]

I have my laptop and internet connection right here in the comfort of my own room. But I know how to split my line connection and I have two modems, (the one I got from a previous account of the same internet provider). When I feel like surfing in my room which I usually do, I just lock myself up here in my room but sometimes it gets too hot and humid (I dont have air conditioning here in my room) so I have to go downstairs and surf in the living room. [dianavarro]

Laptop goes where I am. I usually am in the livingroom. I am not in my own home right now so I have to be in the livingroom cause that is where the internet is. In my former home the internet connection was in the livingroom as well so that's where I would be. [morningstar369]

My computer place in in our living room. My bedroom was too small to put it in there that's why I place it in the corner of my living room, but it was not to disturbing when there is somebody sat in there. This coming year I plan to make a small room for computer workplace which is safe and free from noise. It was too hard to do any computer works if I was disturb by those noise around me it causes of my headache. [mods196621]

Hi there single mommy. At my girlfriend's grandma's house - the computer is in the bedroom. At my house my computer is in the living room, but i have a laptop in my room that i can use. At my girlfriend's parents house the computer is in her room as well. [elitess]

my dear singlemommy i have also my computer in my living room and i also liked it very much because the cable net wire is near with window and i also sleep near with my computer thats why i keep my computer in my living room Thank you [faizi1]

I got two computers, one in my living room, that is a desktop pc and laptop pc in my bedroom.Computer in living is used by all family members and one in my bedroom is for my personal use. [sreejithsreenivas]

My computer in on an old desk in the corner of my bedroom. The left side of the desk drawers are filled with fun stuff like: cookies, donuts, candies, beef jerky, pretzels, chips etc. and the right side has all my computer stuff in them as well as tablets, pens, ipod, cd's, dvd's, tape, headset, ink jets, copy paper etc.. [xbrendax]
Wow! I'm glad I don't have your desk. All that good stuff to eat, I'd weigh 500 pounds in no time. happy I do have a bad habit of keeping candy on my desk to munch on though. It really doesn't help my waist line at all. Thanks for the comment and Happy MyLotting! [singlemommy]

I have it in the living room and I am not planning to move it to another room. I spend too many hours in front of the computer, if it was in another room I wouldn't see the other people for many hours. If there are children at home using the internet it is safer if the computer is in a public space. [overwings]

My computer is on our study room. But it is quite distracting because I would prefer to surf online instead rather than read my books. Haha. lol [icedcoffeemallows]

We have one in the bedroom and one in the living room. I'm a new mommy, so the one in the bedroom is fantastic for late night feedings like now! Otherwise, I'd probably pass out while waiting for my daughter to fill up! I'm hoping for a laptop this semester though! [woolyshamblers]
lol Some nights I have a tendency to drift off while feeding! She's starting to sleep more through the night, though. I usually only have to wake up once through the night anymore. Sure, she's cute as a button at this age, but I can't wait until its over!! I love toddlers because they're able to play and laugh and chase you around the house!! Sure they get into things, but as long as they have Mommy watching, it's alright. :) [woolyshamblers]

My pc is inside my room. I usually stay up late working that's why we put it inside my room. That way, I won't disturb other people living in the house. [kaliyha]

My desktop iMac is in my home office. I love it with it's 20" screen. But I also keep a Windows laptop in the family room. That's because when my husband gets home he usually has to complete his work day with email and then plays around on HIS laptop. Since I don't always want to be in my office, I will often get on my laptop to complete some project or play around. Feels good to say "play around!" [patweber]

Well this is my personal computer, and my brother owns his own personal computer, however my mother doesn't know the - ifs, wheres, and buts of pc's so there is no need for a house computer. [cryw0lf]

in my bed room i have my computer ..i think it is the better one..because if u have computer in living room or any other place it might create some distrubance to the other people so i kept my computer in my bed room [jhansi1986]

Our computer is in our Master bedroom. We do have smaller kids and plan to move it out into the family/living room eventually. The only reason it is in our room now is because our house only has 2 phone jacks in it and one is in our room and we it plugged into it. [4ofmyown]

We have computer located in the kitchen so i am always in the kitchen most of my free time to do mylotting and at the same time i could also eat what ever i like. I have also computer in my room but i dont like use it for it is so slow in loading, i will feel asleep when ever i use it.happy [Margarit]

we have 3 computers and an Xbox 360 that uses high speed internet. So we have a computer in the living room, one in the playroom, one in my sons room with the xbox. All using Linksys router. [sweetpeasmom]

In my house we have 3 computers. One of them I use and another two is used by my brother. I always have my computer in my room. As we have 3 computers, I find it easy to take one and keep it in my room for my own use. Sometimes, if there is something wrong with my PC, I go to my brother's room to use one of two computers he have. Similarly, if my brother pc is not working, he comes to my room and use my pc. But, mostly my computer is located in my own room where I use it. [VinceMcMahon]

I have two computers in my home, one is a laptop, so I bring it to whereever I wish, which is very nice and convenient. The second is in a spare bedroom turned office upstairs, which is a desktop computer. You do have an option, think about going wireless with cable and you wouldn't need to rely on a phone jack, it's a wonderful thing. But in the end, I have to tell you that I think your idea of keeping it in the living room to keep an eye on your daughter is right on the money. We've all heard the stories about internet prededators and it is a reality, so keeping children safe is the way to go. I love hearing parents wanting to keep an eye on where their kids go, it is a scary world out there. [tmelzard]
Yes it is a very scary world out there. I think some people don't use their heads now days about stuff like that. I always want to know where my children are at all times. It is hard for me to do so with my daughter though because I share joint custody of her with her father. He's a good dad and I know he wouldn't let anything happen to her, but still, it is hard to worry when they aren't with you. Thanks for the comment and Happy MyLotting! [singlemommy]

My computer is in the livingroom also. We live out in the sticks, wireless isnt available to us yet. I long for the day when i can have a laptop and go anywhere in the house I want for some privacy. [mzplased]

MacBook Pro 15". My computer is in whatever room I am in pretty much. [darth_eletius]

We have more than one. The computer I do the most work on is in the living room. But we also have a pc in our downstairs den. So it just depends where we are. Not to mention my hubby will be on his laptop more than any other computer. It is his favorite. [ersmommy1]

I had my computer in a separate room which i had named the computer room. I used to feel totally cut off with my wife and daughters sitting in the TV room and chat chatting and I felt left out. My wife too felt that I was spending way too long on the computer and used to comment that sh hardly ever saw me. She did not want the computer in the bedroom as she felt that the bedroom gets way too untidy with te computer there. I found a solution to this. i bought a laptop and now i am mobile. For the net connection I got a wireless connection so i can be connected anywhere i go, be it a holiday or anywhere in the house. It is not as fast as the broadband connection but is fairly useful. Now I can become part of the crowd and not stay isolate in one room. [mercuryman3a]

I have a laptop and wireless internet so i can work in any room i want too, but i use it the most in my livingroom. [Jody20]

Hi,I have my desktop in my bedroom. My kids play games and watch cartoons, either. My husband using laptop in living room.ya, i prefer to bedroom to use computers. [theiva]

Our computer is in the living room too, and I like it there. My husband Watches a lot of tv, and I have never been much of a tv watcher. When he's watching, I go online with the sound off. We like being near eachother, even if we're doing different things. Good idea too about keeping an eye on what our children are doing online. My step-daughter is 16, and we still keep an eye on her 'browsing'. Ignorance does not prevent a problem from occuring. [catdla1]

Hi frnds, in my home my computer is in my bedroom.I always like my computer is in my bedroom its so comfortable, very nice,I can use no one to disturbance.Daily i will use internet from evening to night. be happy. [23uday]

i have my computer in my bedroom but in my bedroom my brother also sleeps so i would like to move to a new house take a seperate room for my computer because i lacks privacy and if there have been a seperate room it will be good and secure so wish i have a seperate room for my computer [saichandtalluri]

I have a laptop that I use not a desktop but my boyfriend has a desk top that is in our living room. We have a corner desk so it's not out in the middle of the room or anything, it fits with everything else in the room. [samijo719]

I have two computers in our home, the first one is here inside our bedroom, this is the one im using at night time. And the other one is located before in our living room, but just a few days ago we transferred it to my nieces room because they could not use it anymore if my daughters gets her hands first on it. In their room is much better, they just locked the room so my daughter could not get in. She still 3 years old and i dont want her to get addicted into playing games over the net. [pitsay]

Wherever I am, lol, as I have a laptop. I have a PC that I never use in my office/den, but it is only there because of the modem, otherwise it would be gone. I have to figure out how to do wireless without it one day. If I had young kids, and my laptop, I would have to sign them on and keep the computer password protected (so they can only go one when I sign them in), they would be limited on how much they could be on, I would have a special program that tracks their online activity and blocks sites and it would have to be done in front of me. [nanajanet]
You are right on the money by limiting their time and blocking out sites, etc. Thanks for the comment. Happy MyLotting! [singlemommy]

I have a home office/study is where I keep my computer, right now we have one computer and since it's used to run my business, plus I am taking college classes online I don't really let the kids on it we have vidoe games on the TV though and for right now that seems to satify them, later on as we can hopefully afford to I would like to get another computer and let the kids share one it will probably be kept in the dinning room since my office is rigth next to it. [christylynn]

We made our dining room into our computer room. We have our table in our kitchen where we eat. Our dining room came with carpet and with 2 young messy boys we never used the dining room as a dining room. We really didn't have the money to pull up the carpet, so we decided to use it as a computer room. It's been awesome!!! It has two openings and I can see into the living room where my youngest child plays. I feel like I am available to him even when I am busy on the computer. We use to have our computer room in a spare bedroom, but I felt really isolated from the children. I hated it!!! [eclecticeducation]

We have a 3 bedroom townhouse and no kids so we set up a sort of home office in the middle room. The room is also my hobby shop and has turned into more like a basement! [Altair4]

we have our computer in the kitchen. this is good because we have two daughters ages 11 and 15 and there is no way they can hide what they are doing or working on in regards to the computer. there is absolutely no way that i would put one in their bedrooms (we would never see them and there is so much crap on the net, well, you know). [cher913]

Hello, mommy...happy The computer here in myfiance's house is in the office. We will go in here when it is time for us to work, I work online and he does transcriptions.happy [hornetlover]

right now i m having it in my bedroom....it is the best place to have your computer...you will have a lot of privacy out there... [samselvarajk]

Currently we have a line of desks that serve as our media center. There are three computers, our TV, and other media items on them. They reside in the living room. I love having the computer in the living room because it is easier to work online and watch my son. Eventually we will have one in the bedroom because my husband has a hard time writing with any distractions. I would love to have an office, but we just don't have the room now or the money to upgrade. [aidenofthetower]

Hi, I have a mobile computer, so he will be in any place lol It is my my brothers' room! and I decide to use internet in the night and make it in my own room! I think that the mobile computer is very important and better than other computer! true? [Very_Nice_Man]

Our computer is in the dining room. It is a laptop, but since we don't have wireless internet we just leave it in one place. Also the battery isn't that great in it so it is almost always plugged in. My kids have a game computer in the basement, but it isn't connected to the internet. It's just for them to use when I am working on the main computer. [breezie]

my maincomputer is in the living room thats what my kids and hubbys uses i have a laptop with wireless internet so i pretty much go where i wasn , mostky ion my bed room so i canwatch tv and watch my Baby sleep [mandytaylor48]

Mine is in the dining room, just around the corner from the tv. I can still talk with family and keep an eye on kids. [Thoroughrob]

My Computer is in my living room. It used to be in our spare room but we have since added to our lil family and needed the room as a bedroom. I also agree now that my 6yo dd is getting as internet savvy as a 6yo can get it's nice to be albe to see what they are doing and lend them a hand when they need it. [3SnuggleBunnies]

Mine is in my room...Mom's is down here in her "den"...Dad's is in his room. He has his own laptop...I'm VERY jealous [Druscilla34]

We have a room in between the kitchen and living room. It allows us access in seeing what the kids are doing. Also we know what is going on at all times. We call it our computer room. LOL We have most things that are computer related here too. [SuzyQ12]

Hi, singlemommy! We have 2 computers. One is a desktop and the other one is a laptop. The desktop is located in the bedroom, where everything else is - like the minigym (which consist of a bench and some dumbells), baby's crib, and 2 Beds which we had to put together to fit in the small room. Even though the laptop can be brought anywhere, it usually stays also in the bedroom since I can't do 'my work' in the computer while we're in the living room. Me and my 19 year old daughter use this laptop. I use this for my part time job, and mylotting, and my daughter watches her DVDs in it, while I leave her in the crib. lol [babyfuzz]

We have our Desktops in the dining room, and our laptops can only go as far away from the modem as a computer cord will go. We just need to get our Wi-Fi working. [CRSunrise]

We have laptops so we're in whatever room of the house we feel like being in. It's great not having to be in one room as I can watch TV as I do stuff on the internet. [SuzyLong]

Our computers (My fiance and I have two set up right next to each other because we're gaming dorks and internet addicts) are between the dining room and living room. It's open concept, so we just stuck the giant desk up against the wall where there would still be room to get by without having to suck in out stomachs and hold our breath. [JeztheNun]

Hi singlemommy! Well, my computer is in my kitche! Yes, that probably is an odd room for a computer to be in! I am responding to this discussion from my email and am not reading any of the other responses (I see there are many)! It was the only room in my small apartment where there was a phone jack and space for a computer! I originally had it on a makeshift kitchen table, but I finally got a real workstation last month! I even had a discussion about it! [Opal26]
Ooops! That would be my computer is in my kitchen! [Opal26]

In general, I keep my laptop sitting on my kitchen counter. I have a wireless connection, so I can move it whenever I want to. [bam001]

I am lucky to have a laptop that I can move around but I usually sit at the dinning table with it as I can keep watch on my daughters. They have a computer in their bedroom also. It was my old one. My husband has one in his small office but its on its way out. I think your computer is in a good place in your home. Sometimes if they are upstairs and someone is sleeping the keys make too much noise. [hildas]

We actually have our computers in our office. Before, we had an extended living room that they were in. In most places we have lived before that, it seems like it was always in the kitchen. [UtopianIdealist]

We have it in the basement. Evrything else it's down here - a small gym, TV, bikes - it's like a big entarteinment room that everybody has access to. It's good - you can do whatever you want - watch TV, play video games, be on the computer, have some fitness... [ladynetz]

We have three laptops here. One belongs to the roommates and that is out on a table in the living room. The other two are in the bedroom. One is on a desk in here and the other, that is my own, I usually sit on the bed with my back against the wall, and the laptop on my lap. [trm820]

My old computer is set up here in my spare bedroom, Its my computer room and well a bit of a storage room too LOL! [dreamweaverjan]

I have my computer in an extra room in the house. I use a desktop instead of a laptap because of the bigger screen. My computer has this large 21 inches screen which is very convenient for me. I work long hours on my computer and the small screen of the laptop makes my eyes ache. My seven year old boy has his onw desk top beside my computer so I get to see what he is doing in the computer. [alindahaw]

I have small spre bedroom that I removed one door from and I use this room as an office now. There are 2 doorways. One leads into the hallway and the other leads into the dining room. I removed the door from the dining room entry. I also have a lamp and a lazy boy chair for reading away from the noise of the TV etc as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~ [webeishere]

Everywhere I go, singlemommy. So far, it hasn't gone in the bathroom. [SaintAnne]
LOL. Thanks for the BR, singlemommy. I hold too much respect for the privacy afforded by being in the bathroom that I do not bring my laptop there. Plus, I just think we should all have boundaries... Thank you again. [SaintAnne]

At my parents house.. There are 3 computers. One in my room, one in my parents' room, and one in one of my little sisters' room. At my apartment for college there are also three computers, but they're laptops so they can be scattered all over the place sometimes. [vanonas]

I have a laptop and a wireless router, so i just go from room to room. Or even outside. My daughter has the same. Right now, though its almost lights out for her, we are both in my bed, IM here and she's making some sort of cake on a site.. it has a LOT of sprinkles! [CurlyRed]

We keep ours in the family room for one reason- so we can see the kids when they are playing on it. My oldest wants a laptop (I don't even have one!) but there's no way that I am going to let her surf the net in a room where I can't keep an eye on her activity. It's so easy to stumble on to the wrong things and it just isn't safe for the kids to be unsupervised. I can't begin to tell you the things that I have accidentally stumbled on!!! [mrsfred96]
Oh I totally agree. You cannot be too safe. Thanks for the comment and Happy MyLotting! [singlemommy]

My computer is set up in my bedroom on a table next to my bed. I know that sounds lazy but there are days that I have to spend a lot of time in bed and this way I can have something to do while I am there, besides watching TV that is. [savak03]

We have a computer in our living room. Plus i have a lap top and my brother and sister both have computers in their room. We all have our own computers and it works out that way. We no longer have to share or wait for someone to get off to be able to use it. [BabyGurly1745]

I have a home office where my computer is in ... hubby keeps his lap top in our living room right next to his lounge chair...my home office is also where I do my Crafts too..:) Just my two cents Hugs [Lafemcrafts]

We have wireless internet and I have a laptop I use in the Den most of time, which is where I am now. But we also have a bedroom we use as a computer room. We have 2 PC's in there, mine and my husband's. [Barb42]

My computer is in the living room, too. I had it in the bedroom but I moved it into the living room where I would be able to watch after my 3 year old gradaughter and not be off in another room. [sweetbabyjane]

Hi singlemommy,I have my computer in my son's bedroom. Its cosy in here, and I have a good view from the balcony,as I work on my PC..... [Roseo8]

i have my computer in my bedroom as I always need it to keep rolling..lol... [undertaker17]

well mine is in my bed room . first it was in living room but there was very disturbance and light on screen problem too . so i moved it my own room. [inder86]

It is in my bedroom/office. The extra bed is in there also, but all of the desk, storage cabinets, etc for my office as well as my computer printer and all office equipment. It keeps me somewhere off and quiet so that I can work. [quinnkl]

My computer is in my living room. It won't fit anywhere else in this tiny apartment. I hope to move next year. This is the only computer I have. It is kind of old. I wish I could afford to get a new one, well maybe someday. [lagirl1966]

I have my computer in my room. I need some privacy. I'm all alone in my room and it's pretty much convenient to have my computer just right beside my bed. I stay up late at night and this way i check my downloads if they're done just by opening my eyes whenever i'm laying on my bed. My earphones have pretty long cord so i can listen to music or watch films at the comfort of my bed. Plus i don't have to worry about people peeking on my monitor. [modstar]

My desktop pc tends to be in the living room. Its easier to get to and then i dont have phone cords running all over the house to get to it. My laptop tends to just go anywhere as i have a wireless router set up to use the desktop pcs connection. [saundyl]

Well the family computer is in the living room sort of place. I just got my own computer and it is in my room though. I'm very excited! [Purtle]

Our computer is in the living room also, its only because we don't have any other place to put it, and it allows us to watch tv while we're surfing, you can just turn the chair around and you can see the tv from where you are, makes it pretty handy where it is...haha. [walijo2008]

Both of my computers are in the bedrooms. I am planning on getting another one, so i suppose I will put it in the living room. My brother has his computers networked through a server, and he has been hinting that I need to do the same thing. I just don't feel the same way about PC's that he does. [LuvBr0wn13s]

Well we keep our in the living room as well. I have ours facing out so that if I am online I can still see what the kid is up. I have thought of moving it but this seems like the most logical location and besides I have an old steel office desk and the think weights a ton. [Impervious]

i have a computer room, it's a cute little room specifically for a computer. It's off my dining room u walk through this little hallway and there it is, it's all by itself, it's not big enough to be a room, it's more like a storage area but with internet n phone hook ups. [mgmagana]

Well, my comp is in my Hall. As I like to be with my comp all the time and also take care of my home [ashish_answer]

I have a laptop, so it moves around - right now it is in the living room. We also have a desktop in our bedroom, and another in my son's bedroom. [kellys3ps]

The computer is in the dining room of my house.Previously we used to keep the computer in the hall.Because the tv was also there. It would create disturbance. We have now shifted it so that everyone can do their work peacefully and quietly.happyhappy [vicky30]

Nice question! I use my notebook everywhere, for example at university or I take it in my long journeys. But at home I use it especially in my bedroom. Often my sister and my mother use it, too. Sometimes I put it on my kitchen table when I'm cooking so I can read directly my recipes! Bye [ciliegina]

I keep my computer in my bedroom. I also have a laptop. So I can go whatever place I want to go. I once thought of bringing my laptop to the bathroom with me. hehehe.. Doing the business while chatting with people. awesome. ^___^ [monkeykingaround]

i live in a small apartment, so my computer (a laptop) is always either between my family room or my bedroom. sometimes i use it on my couch and sometimes in my bed. unfortunately, i don't have a desk, so it's kind of a nomadic computer! [theweerouss]

My advice would be to have a wifi box & add parental control on all your pc's . We have 2 imacs & & 3 pc in the house so we are all on line all the time - Also you would not believe how switched our kids are these days so they do know which sites are safe these days [andy1page]

Hi Singlesmommy, I have mine in my living room too but at some stage would like to move but also due to phone points and plug points being where they are I can't at present, however I do intend to get a laptop at some stage will will allow more flexibiliy as sometimes once my son is in bed to save on heating I could just go up to my bedroom and get warm under he covers and use laptop as I have wi-fi already. Huggles. Ellie :D [ellie333]

My computer is in a part of my living room, but it is in an area of its own. I am ale to see what the kids are up to and what they are watching on t.v., and I can easily hear the front door if someone knocks. The area I have it in is seperated by the couch, so it is a some-what defined office area. [lynnemg]
Sounds neat. cool [lordwarwizard]

Well, I can't say I always have it in the living room, but sometimes I move my laptop to somewhere else because my grandparents might be watching TV and I don't wanna bother them because I wanna watch something on my laptop, and sometimes my earphones are already in use. [andrewdude]

Hello there. Our computer is located in our living room. We were thinking of moving it to our bedroom, but none of the rooms upstairs has a phone jack. It would also be inconvenient to the one sleeping in our room if we use it during the night. [enirahtak]

We have four computers in our home. I have a Macintosh computer in our office space we just recently completed, along with my husband's laptop he uses for work. My oldest son, who is 18, just got a laptop to use for college in August. There is no internet hooked to it yet. And my two younger children got a desktop that is in the living room. This allows me to watch not only them but their friends while on the computer. It isn't hooked to internet yet but soon will be and I want to know they understand they are being watched while online. [tammytwo]

i have my laptop in the livingroom and my computer is in my bedroom... [zoechip]

My computer is in my bedroom which I think has its pros and cons. On the one hand, having it in my room makes it quite cosy to use the computer and does offer me a certain level of privacy whilst I am using it. On the other hand, sometimes I just like to be able to escape most forms of technology and its nice to be able to leave my computer behind while I am chilling out for example. I don't have children but I can understand wanting to keep an eye on them when they are on the computer and I would probably keep a central PC in a 'family' room if I did have kids. Happy myLotting [UK_Shree]

My computer is in my living room and I like having it there. I can watch the tv and be close to the phone and the door there if I am on it for any length of time, which I can be at times. Maybe I shouldn't admit it, but it is close to the kitchen, too, when I want to get something to eat or drink, which is most of the time that I am online!! [idowrite72]

I have my home computer also in my living room. Sometimes my step sons come over and I too am able to keep a watchful eye of what they do on the computer as well as my husband. Also because I too do not have a phone jack to hook my computer up in my bedroom. But I don't mind having my computer up here. It is more convenient for me and also I can be on the computer while I am watching tv and sometimes when I have to break when I have to do house work. [trisha_nava82]

Hi singlemommy, I am fortunate to have my personal computer in my own bedroom. This is quite convenient for me. If you have children, then the household computer should be placed in a common area. That would be useful if you need to guide your children. Cheers! lol [lordwarwizard]

When i first moved into my new apartment with my roommate her and i decided to have my pc in the living room so she can also use it to, which i didnt have a problem with at first. But, then she would start playing loud music on it and such and do what ever she pleased to do. So after all of this i decided to move the pc to my room so that she would have to ask to use it as for my parents bought it for me. Ever since her and i had a fight one day she moved out and ever since the computer still resides in my room.. I just find that having the computer in my room is more convinent so that i can lay on my bed and see who pops up and if there is a certain person i want to talk to i can and not miss it.
