Which Computer Skill Do You Want To Learn

Actually I always want to learn how to make a program. I think programming is quite interesting and I can make a software which I like. Unfortunately I don't have this skill.

Currently I'm an IT student and even my programming skills aren't as good as I would like them to be I'm satisfied, but what I would like to know better is web designing. I can't say I don't know how to make a website, but I would like to make more complex ones (connected to the database or my own content management system). Last couple of weeks I've been trying to create my own Joomla template and even I designed it in Photoshop I have trouble converting it to the Joomla template. Don't worry, programming is not as hard as you may think. You just have to practice! Happy mylotting and take care! [Fadolf]
That is coolhappy In my opinion, programming is still much more difficult than designing a websitewink [youless]

I personally feel that I should have full control over my PC and always make it useful as I like. I have learned a bit of programming plus I am also learning hacking stuff. I also want to learn linux. I have also started a bit of web designing and have launched a website of my own. There are so many things to do on a pc for which you don't need some extravagant skills just you need a bit of patience and also a small amount of logical thinking. [firstsite2008]
You have many ambitions in the IT fieldhappy [youless]

Yes I would have to agree with you. Programming is very interesting. There are many software I don't know how to use. I would like to learn using properly Photoshop or Autocad, but programming would be a very good tool. Also I would like to learn how to work with java. [cbhomework]
Nice thoughtshappy [youless]

programming is really interesting but sometimes it gives a lot of headache! its a very tough job, from analyzing to implenting to testing and even deploying.. i have tried software programming and it's really a lot of process flow understanding from the simplest to the general.. sometimes you think your analyzation is correct but because of the connection of each of each attributes, it makes the whole thing complex plus you need to understand syntx that a computer understands.. a lot of considerations to do! i have also tried developing a site and i guess website development is a little easier than software development.. and sometimes it depends on the language you'll be using.. a lot of programming and scripting language are sprouting these days so if you are into programming, you really have to be updated so often so you wont be left behind with the current languages used.. its a very difficult thing to do but if you have done it successfully and see the output, there's always a sense of achievement in it.. you'll be amaze how you've done it and the feeling is just great! but well, you have to undergo a lot of headaches first! lol anyway, as for your question, i would like to go deeper to networking and understand more how internet works.. hardware related topics are interesting to learn too! wink [leizlmarie]
I know most things are easier said than done. Some people also think that learning English is a headache. But if you are interested in something, perhaps you will learn it with your passionhappy [youless]

Years ago now I took up one of these homestart computer courses, I actually paid out a considerable amount of money to take the course and I couldn't get my head round it, half was my fault the other fault being the company who sold me the course, I felt they had ripped me off, I didn't get very far and in the end I gave up, complete waste of time, I recognized that I don't have the skills or the patience to learn how to make a computer program, best intentions and enthusiasm so died a natural death! I only know the basics, html and all that, I have designed websites that I can do but anything more technical and I am at a loss. [wolfie34]
That's super that you designed a websitehappy [youless]

I love programming. I am learning C, C++ and python. Even though C and C++ are traditional programming languages, i love python because it is easy to learn. Actually, programming is a lot fun, but at the same time, it will be a great headache at some situations. This happens mostly when we write the source code of our own program and then compiling it. We will definitely learn through errors. But i feel restless at this time. So i will just drop it. [mohamedthoufeeq]
That's so nice you are learning C and C++happy [youless]

I know many programming language. Java is my special for me. What you can do is that pay me and I will teach you programming. LOL [arkasen]
Actually my husband is a programmerlol [youless]

Hello youless!!! Well I am a student of BE computer and being a successful programmer in life is my aim. So I prefer to develop my programming skills. Being a programmer, we can't be able to make any type of software like you are saying "I can make any software which I like." Yes we can sometimes make small programs for ourself. But bigger programming is always done in team. And an individual person's work is only to work on the specific or smaller part or component of that program not the whole program. Why don't you learn it. I hope there are many institution around that offers programming in various platforms. I hope you will learn it in future.... Happy mylotting.... [nzalheart]
I wish I could have spare time to learn programming. [youless]

I have learnt a few programming language. But have not progressed enough to make my own software.Yes programming is the thing that excites me the most.I hope I could make my dream come true someday. [sagnik42]
I hope your dreams will come true soon. [youless]

yes programming is fun and with it you can do a lot of things. why dont you learn programming? [user_786]
Time is the main problem. [youless]

I would like to learn how to do photoshop. I have played with an open source version of it, and I do well manipulating graphics, but when I try to retouch photos of people they end up looking very strange! [tentwo67]
Mastering Photoshop can make very super imageshappy [youless]

Yes programming can be fun to learn. I would like to know how to program and how to create nice website with programming part. [polachicago]
Nice ambitionhappy [youless]

Right now all I want to know is how to get rid of the latest annoying Windows Vista update, which seems to have screwed up my entire computer. I don't have a back button on my browzer, can't bookmark things anymore, and the thing messes up totally when I try to listen to the radioo on line!!! [danishcanadian]
That's so troublesome. I don't know whether Vista also provides the recovery feature as well as XP. [youless]

happyI DO want a skill, maybe it is so easy for you, Photoshop, hah, i couldnt learn it well in university, and now i couldnt use it to handle the pictures,so i wish i might learn it someday.... [sinokirin]
I just know a little about Photoshophappy [youless]

a skill can be learned but the question is if you have the patience to do it. it is quite complicated because it is like learning a different language altogether. i have thought of wanting to learn computer programming but i realized that i would rather learn what softwares i need for my internet work. i don't want to spend my time knowing the why it works rather how it would benefit me in my online business. [tigerdragon]
If I will learn a program language, probably I will choose either java or C++happy [youless]

I have also wondered how programmers make computer software... i always think they has some kind of magical powers... but i would love to learn how to use computer language... since that is the core of computer programming and website design... maybe when i have a lot of time in my hands... [aseretdd]
Yeah, time is very important to learn something difficult. Especially when you have a child, it is not so easy to squeeze the time. [youless]

I used to take up Computer Science way back in 1996 but I only studied it for a semester because my mother was trying to manipulate all things, she told me to shift into another course, since I am a good daughter, I did. She claimed that her religious fellowship forbids the use of computers because of the Y2K Bug which can make the computers worldwide to explode all in the same time and cause the end of the world. It was a shame that it wasn't really true. So I don't really believe those religious groups. If I continued my preferred course, I would like to make a program of new games. These days, I realize that there are a lot of online games and gamers so I lose one part of life for that. [sophie_dfuss]
I also thought that take up a Computer Science was better for youhappy [youless]

All 'programming' is quite the same. In the same sense that all math is the same. People think they cannot program but it is steps that need to be taken and when these steps are taken there are successes that are made along the way. In other words in one hour you could be writing your first program... it might just say hello world or something as such but it is a start... then you build on what you already know. Just like math... you learn how to add/subtract which allows you to multiply/divide which allows you to learn about decimals and fractions which then takes you into quadriatic equations which takes you into geometry which takes you into calculus... now you are a math stud. Same with programming! Good luck! Thanks happy Zelo happy [zeloguy]
It is sometimes easier when you are not a professional. If I don't do a good job I don't eat! If someone plays with something as a hobby their success is measured on how they progress. Maybe the first thing they do is not good but the next is better and then they get better and better all the while doing it all for fun. That takes away a lot of anxiety and stress. Thanks happy Zelo happy [zeloguy]

There are many things I'd like to learn here. I'd like to learn how to make my own graphics, how to understand codes and how to install ads. There are many things that I want to know here. I know that a lot of people are already experts at working on their sites and I just envy them. [veganprince]
As long as you have the desire to learn, this is a good attitude. [youless]

wish you all good. if any business will surely materialize. you can learn from books or to ask people who are able. [indahfth]
Thanks for your suggestion. [youless]

I am in IT field. So I know the programming. But it is not possible for me to know programming in all software languages. I mainly do database programming. I like to learn programming in hardware. I also like to learn the rare skills of programming languages. [subha12]
It sounds greathappy [youless]

I would like to learn some skills about how to fix problematic harddisks of whatever types of errors. We know that data stored on the harddisk is sometimes more important than the harddisk itself. It's a great loss when we lost those data for ever. [my1341]
I use Easyrecovery to save the lost data of the harddiskhappy [youless]

I would like to learn how to upload pictures, myself. I've gotten advice on this from several different mylotters but I haven't tried it yet. I just haven't had the time. I will try this when I get a chance. Kathy. [cyrus123]
I think you can figure it out easily soonhappy [youless]

me too i want to learn programming and computer designer.. [marketing07]
Very goodhappy [youless]

Oh, I have learnt many thing on computer and I don't want to learn new technologies. I am fed up with my knowledge. I think I would like to upgrade my programming skills so that I can keep up with the market demand. I have done a Post Graduation course in Computers so, I need to be with the new trend otherwise it would be difficult for me to have jobs! [sanuanu]
You are welcome pal! [sanuanu]

i want to learn more about adobe photoshop, premier, audition and after effects... also love to know about programming and autocad. [jheLaichie]
This is a nice choicehappy [youless]

Me too, this was my first choice to enroll in college however I did not pursue it. After graduating from college, I would like to enroll however due to financial difficulties it did not push through again. I really like to learn programming however I do not know if I can still do it. [kewlme]
There is a will, there is a wayhappy [youless]

Programming is easier now compared before, because of the existence of the Windows-based programming language. Before, programming languages available are all DOS-based. Well, I'm not that good in programming, but I know how to create a program. The language I'm using is Visual Basic 6. I suggest that you also try to learn Visual Basic, there's a lot of tutorials in the Internet. Actually I have a knowledge on almost every skill in computer but only little knowledge, not an expert. I know programming, website designing, photo editing, animation, troubleshooting, etc. I want to be versatile in computer. I hope my memory can handle all of these. Lol! [markmoney]
But C++ may be a difficult programming language to learn. [youless]

currently i am student of computer science and engg(b.tech) and my career is in software engg. but i want to work ot job in animation or movie making field its my dream.... so if u know more about this field so please help me???? [ankitnavgwal01]
i know u are not working in this field but if u have any idea then guide me thanks 4 response [ankitnavgwal01]

I think I have too many computer skills. So I am thinking what to unlearn.Cheers. [karthik_404]
Thanks for your reply. [youless]

I think in current time the most chanllengeable and promising skill for me to learn for computer is programing skill! But it really seems hard for me. I do not major in computer and I am not so good at math. But I think I am interested in computer and the Internet. However,to use them seems much easier. But the basical principal and development of them seems very difficult for me. [nocovi]
I agree with you. [youless]

I wanna learn programing too.But it is a pity I do not major in computer. However,I am very interested in computer and Internet.I find it a little difficult to learn programing with no guiding and relative basic knowledge [nocovi]
Yeah, it is easier to say than done. [youless]

i am a programmer but with short skill. usually i use visual basic with database sqlserver 2000. create program make me have fun. [askm95]
Thanks for your response. [youless]

Web designing will be my choose , I think . But I know it is not easy to design a good website . You know , it's headache to learn the language such as HTML , Javascript and etc . I hope one day I can own my personal website which is designed by myself :) But seems that will be my one dream . [Generis]
In fact there are many software can help you to design your website, you don't really have to learn something like HTMLhappy [youless]

Only forthe past 3 years I have become familiar with the computer and I have been learning MSWord.I would like to learn more of this, to also do some powerpoint presentations and a bit of Excel --I am afraid it may be too difficult for me but I would like to grasp a bit of Excel. [kalav56]

I want to learn about computer graphics. :) [Nhey16]
This is a good choice [youless]

Hi Youless, mine is the same as you! My ex-bf is good at computer. He surprised me once by typeing some number and word and sign, then asked me to hit the enter button, i hit it. There is a flower and heart shape with I love you on the computer screen! I was so surprised and happy at that time. Good memories. That's why i want to learn how to make programs. [vivianchen]
It is so sweetwink [youless]

There are a lot about computers that I want to learn. My knowledge with computers is very basic. In fact, I was surprise when I was able to work as a technical support representative dealing with internet connection. During the training, i got exhausted as well it was "nose-bleed" because I am not familiar with most of the computer terms. From then on, I realize that maybe I need to get computer subjects. In terms of software, I am familiar with word, excel and powerpoint presentation only. I want to learn how to do photoshop and those other computer applications. In terms of computer hardware, I want to know how to troubleshoot computer issues. [yonkie]
That's so nicehappy [youless]

Hello friend, I do know a few computer programming languages but I would like to learn java and a few dot net languages. These are the things that drive the world right now when it comes to cyber front and I do not want to be lagging behind. [jshekhar]
This is a nice ambition [youless]

i would love to learn how to use excel but dont have the program and cant afford to buy it. my pc came with i think microsoft works which has a spread sheet in it but it sucks compared to excel. a website i'm on says that i can submit info to them via excel only. not exactly what i call 'progress'. [4pawsx4]
Thanks for your response. [youless]
