What are you listening to, and what do you hear? I used to listen to the television while on the computer, but we recently moved the desktop upstairs, where there is no televisio. When my son came upstairs I could hear him talking on the phone. Mostly, now, I am hearing the wind blowing. It is pretty gusty and the windows in this old house rattle and shake and that is what I am hearing. When the wind shifts they no longer rattle, but I hear the trees slicing through the wind and making a little noise. So, I hear my son on the phone, and wind in the trees, the windows rattling. It is pretty peaceful and quiet. Honestly, it is time to go to bed.

yes I am here on my computer and mylotting,and guess what I am listening to MOzart's K 448 a piano concerto and its one of my favorite, its a duet and its fantastic whoever is at the piano is just spectacular, two people playing a complicated concerto like that its so pretty so mind blowing, I love all sorts of music but Classical is my forte.In an hour it will be time for me to go to bed too.My son just left , he came about three forty five,He downloaded Mozella thunderbird on my computer and their email thingy. now have to learn some new things again which should prove most interesting. He had a time because evidently this Thunderbird is not compatible with my AVG 9 virus so he disabled it. now we are going to have to find a compatible free virus that will work with thunderbird. What is so interesting is that mylot loads lickety split now so AVG must have been slowing everything down.If I did not have my earphones on I would hire the refrigerator unit of the Vietnamese grocery store that backs up against the alley between it and Gold Crest andmyroom here. I love to hear the wind in the trees at night. also the patter of rain always relaxes me too. we are situater here in the middle of Little Saigon. Years back the Vietnamese people came here to Californis and settled in this area about 20 blocks long and wide. they reallyh are pretty nice neighbors, quiet well mannered and their old parents all live with them, its really so of nice to see. well must be off to bed soon. good night and God bless Garden.hugshugshugs [Hatley]
I guess this would bring me to another question, what do you smell? I would think you would smell some native dishes that smell really yummy living in a ethnic community. It is amazing what things you can pick up with your senses. I am back in my bedroom on my computer. I've been listening to jango internet radio at the same time while I'm mylotting. I used to listen to pandora internet radio but I got an email from them here lately saying that they are going to start charging .99 a minute every month if you listen to it for more than 40 hours every month. That's the way I understand it, anyway. That's why I've changed to jango. I can't do without my music! Whenever a song goes off, I hear the television going in the den. For you, Kathy, the music is probably good because it is something that is already in your mind. It is calming, but you do not really have to think about it because you know so much music already. I have an ocean waves choice on my bedside radio, elic. I could have birds singing or some other choices, but I found the birds singing made me want to wake up. It is a bit early for bed here on the West Coast, at least for me. But most of my neighbors turned in long ago, so it is wonderfully quiet. I love the sound of silence, punctuated only by the tapping of the the keys as I type. If you had asked me last night, however, I would have told of the thundering overhead of police helicopters. Dunno what they were looking for, but it did go on for quite some time. Sleep tight! [drannhh]
I am finding that I can enjoy the quiet more and more. My city is small enough not to have police helicopters. However I live near the edge of town,on a main street and it is not unusual for the fire and rescue people to have to go by really fast trying to get to the highway to help someone. It's a great place where I stay, it's very quiet here, only during office time when all neighbors go to office they take there vehicles and some noise is produced. We recently moved the computer to the hall from the bedroom. So, I can hear the television and the wind whistling through our sliding door. I can also hear some kids in the swimming pool downstairs...it's a nice and sunny day and quite a few children seem to be in the pool. As I'm typing, besides the sound of the keys, I hear my waterfall (I have indoor ponds, stream and waterfall). I can also hear my roommate cough once in awhile. Yesterday was miserable with all the wind and dirt in the air and it got to my roommate. I can also hear one or both of my dogs sigh once in awhile. They're laying by my feet. On windy days there is quite a bit of dust around. My hubby was looking at the cars this morning. It was windy for a couple of days, and then damp, so we had dirt that blew onto our cars and stuck. [GardenGerty]
It depends on what time of the day it is. I am watching Fraiser on tv and typing away in the dark. Sometimes, when I am in the mood I listen to rock and roll or look at videos on YouTube. Hi GardenGerty, since my computer is always at my living room, so most of the time i will only hear sounds from the television. Sometimes, when i switch on the dvd for my son to learn singing, then i will hear children song while i am doing my mylot. It's good to hear some sounds in the background while doing mylotting, so your mind will be able to concentrate and write more interesting comment. Hi GardenGerty, Usually I did not listen any music while I am at mylot. I only hear my nephew and niece voice playing at the porch. But now I am listening to the music that I downloaded from youtube. Most of it are a Foreign Language songs that I no nothing about. I downloaded it because I like their music. It is also does not bother me much because I did not understand the songs and I did not want to follow the song like I do when I listen to Malay or English songs. [akuler]

Hi Gerty! I love to have pretty much quiet when I'm mylotting! I am sitting in my kitchen/office with my Cat, Star sitting in my lap and I'm typing away and can hear him purring and someone running water somewhere in the apartment building! It is now 2:00 AM and I can hear my BF yawning in the bedroom. He just turned off the tv! We watched some very funny comedian for an hour and I came back in to mylot when he turned on some college basketball stuff! I love basketball, but only the Pros! So, now I am sitting peacefully in the quiet of my favorite place in the apartment, my "kitchen/office" at my computer desk with my sweeter Cat Star all cuddled up! Depends on what am actually doing. If i am doing any serious work, i dont seem to bothers what is going on around as i will be totally involved in the work and any voices or noises i hear are distracting. If am just passing time, i listen to music or even keep listening to what my family members are doing, sometimes listen to the televison etc etc. And if am seriously watching something which i dont wanna be caught doing so, my ears will be really active even to catch the sound of footsteps of people approaching so that i can stop what i am viewing to getting caught!! i listen to youtube. i often listen to jal joshua and mark vincent. both last year winners of Australia's Got Talent contest. though i am not from australia. i love listenting to the two finalist of the contest last year. it was the latter who won though. andi am not the only listening to it often. my father always ask me to open the youtube to watch them at a time. so many times i have to stop what i am doing on the computer so that he watch the videos of them singing on youtube. but sometimes he is just contented listening so i can do something on the computer while i just leave the youtube. i like your place. it seems you have a great place. i like listening also the leaves brushing against the wind. it is quite a peaceful sound. and i want to have that kind of place where it seems peaceful and serene. I am glad to have moved my computer to a quieter place. It is also away from the lap top. I used to try to post and hubby would try to read to me at the same time. I do mylotting in the living room, while on my laptop. I am sitting in my easy chair and my laptop is on a table that has Wheels on it, so I can pull it up close to me so I can type without any problems. It is much more comfortable this way, and I do everything on the computer in here. Right now, I am watch the discovery health channel while mylotting. I live close to a lake but really I only have two lots. I feed a lot of birds and get several species of birds and woodpeckers come in two kinds that I've seen here. I live in my mama's house. She died last year and she always had birds of all kinds and I have taken after her in that respect. I also have many humming birds here.Not yet but will have. I always wear comfies ! It is usually quiet when I am on the computer, that is unless the grandkids are over. They live next door and across the street, somedays they are in and out. I try to keep my expenses down so I don't have the tv on unless I am watching it. Right now my grandson is on the phone, the washer is going and the dryer is going. Normal day. [Polly1]

It takes away boredom most of the time, plus its also fun to see read and watch other people interact with each other. Well, my laptop coughed up a virus and crashed, so now I have to use the desk top upstairs. There's a about 100 acres or so of empty grasslands behind our house so I see hawks but can't hear them. I hear very chirpy sparrows with bright red (some yellow) chests. Must be getting ready to build nests. There's no wind today, it's very peaceful. Well, I was trying to answer some Mylot questions and play Trivial Pursuit on the wii with my husband and daughter in law to be at the same time. I beat them at Trivial Pursuit, even only half paying attention, which is very rare for me. I just happened to get some questions that I actually knew! (I come in last ALOT) Now, I'm still answering discussions, and listening to the sound of the television, where hubbby is watching "deadliest catch" or something similiar on the Discovery Channel. Hi Gerty I have the TV on and sometimes it is just for background but when there is a Film on that I like to see I will watch while I am typing away here It is only at night when I am in bed it is all quiet and peaceful now where I live, no more cars zooming at 2am, no People talking at the top of their voices late at night outside my Bedroom, it is wonderful [gabs8513]

I usually will listen to music when I am on the computer. Most of the time I listen to the radio or whatever I have playing on Pandora Online Radio [BestComputerGeek]

I have my laptop on the dining room table and everything is set up so I can see into the lounge room and watch telly. It's not on at the moment and as it's just around 6:00am. I can here the gentle rain on the awning making it sound like I have a tin roof and I can hear the cockatoos and galahs as they go to their daytime perches. I can also hear the rain hitting the metal chimney of my wood burning heater. I will have it going within a few weeks I reckon as it's a bit chilly. There's been no traffic so far and I can hear other birds in the distance as well. The goats are sleeping again and the puppy, the dog and the cat are all sleeping again. Curled up in bed with a book seems like a good place to be right now.happy [MsTickle]

It's definitely time for me to go to bed, but I'm too addicted to MyLot! You're right. I'm at my computer, and I'm on MyLot. I'm sitting here listening to guns firing because my brother - the one who moved to Tennessee a couple weeks ago (he is visiting this weekend - YAY!) and my hubby playing some shooting game. It doesn't bother me too much unless it's too loud, and I can't concentrate on my discussions! It's funny because every once in a while, they'll break out into a laughing fit because they do something funny on the game. It's nice having my brother here visiting since I haven't seen him in a couple weeks, but I guess I shouldn't get used to it since he'll be heading back in a couple weeks, and I probably won't see him till July or so. Anyway, my hubby sometimes plays these games while I'm MyLotting because we're compromising. He's doing something he loves, and I'm doing something that I love, of course! It's nice because I don't understand the fulfillment he gets from playing those silly games, but yet, he doesn't understand my love for MyLot. These are things we just accept about each other. So...the shooting is what I hear right now. I'm glad the boys are having fun tonight - LOL! [JJ4Ever]
