I am master of my computer, i can use it when i have free time, in special in weekend or in the end of the day, after work, when i am not very tired.
Few weeks ago, my sister come in visit and stay in my home one month, and of course that she use my computer, my desk top, and i use just my laptop when she was here in visit.
I want to say that now my computer is like a cabbage, i mean she put here photos, download a lot of "nice" imagines, who bring in my computer a viruses army; now i must fight with all this viruses, and is not to easy.
I just want to say, that i hate when somebody use my computer, when i open a site and come other 10 sites after, when i enter in my documents and i find there what she put there.
Music? i have all Hip Hop songs who she find to net;
Movies? you don t want to know what kind of movies she download.
So you use your computer alone, or you share it with somebody from your family, or maybe with all family? in the morning wife, in the day time husband, and in night son or doughter? i am sure that is a real fight there to find a window to use your computer...happy

Hi icesmile, I am Lord and Master of this computer, it's at least 6 years old and my husband bought an €800+ laptop nearly a year ago for himself, before that it was shared 80/20.........with me having it 20% of the time! That used to be a nightmare, always racing to see who'd get there first! There are times he'll still use it, for certain programs that are not compatible with vista (as the pc is XP), so on those ocassions I am booted off here, and don't like anyone else using MY computer LOL. I could use his laptop but it's like foreign territory to me, I am so used to using this and the way I have everything set up. hi icesmile^^;; it's all mine LoL!lol i've no one to share with... when i was still living with my parents, my father didn't know how to use before when i only had the desktop. but when my desktop goes slow, i bought a new laptop and gave the desktop to him to practice. before that, my younger cousin used to live with me in the apartment and she used the desktop as well. yes she download stuffs but save it to her memory stick and i put another username for her so she cannot mess up with my files and documents. hi ice, i wish i am, but everyone uses our only one desktop computer. my daughter uses it for backlogs and reports in the office, my granddaughter for her assignments and researches, my son in law for games.. and myself for chats and mylot. only problem is the time limit of each. usually i end up the the one waiting all the time.lol annhappy [tigeraunt]

Hi, icesmile. I share this laptop with my husband and I sometimes can't be on the laptop as long as I would like to. My son and daughters also watch cartoons on this laptop since we don't have an T.V. for them. We all have to look at movies on this laptop. I am glad that my husband never downloads anything that will mess up this laptop. I never have to go through this with him. Whatever he does on this laptop, it is never to harm the software or files of this laptop. He is the sole administrator of this laptop. Hi there Ice Smile When i was younger and my brother was living with me we only had the desktop computer and we had to fight over it / share it. With time he moved out, my dad got a laptop and now my mom works a lot on the desktop computer. Truth be told, i only have some music left on the desktop computer, in other words i kind of been exiled to the laptop, even if me and my brother invested a lot of money in the desktop computer (which now is the value of a junk... but that's not the point, is it). On the laptop i am usually the one to use it, and only on special occasions does my brother or mom comes to use it. The ones that use it more often than my brother and mom are my dad, if i am not at home, and mom is using the desktop computer and my girlfriend (which is at the moment playing an online game, but i don't mind as her computer is in service after a burnout of the power source). Hi, before my sons move on, i had in my house 3 desktops and a laptop; you can imagine? My bill for electricity, was huge ll the time. Now, i am master of my desktop and laptop too, but is hard because i miss my son when i need to fix my computer; even they come in the end of the week, i really miss all answers about computers who only my elder son can answer to me. My Laptop is mine and as I live alone I don't have to share it, when my Daughter comes to stay she will use it but I have all the security on here and also she would never download anything without asking me first so I do not have that Problem at all and your Sister should respect and take more care with your Computer [gabs8513]

I try not to share it with someone else, but sometimes I have to, I like the way things are, but some are lost in navigating it. I like simple design, and My screen is pretty low on brightness, to save some vision. When someone uses it they need to change something for some reason. [unnamedny]
I am the master of my computer. I own two. One a desktop and the other a laptop. I usually work on both of them simultaneously and do not allow anybody else to touch it. If I'm at home, nobody else dare touch my computer cos they get good from me. I also have the same problem. My sister keeps downloading these stupid games which bring all the viruses and since I do a lot of personal work, I have the risk of being hacked and what not. I am lucky i have a computer i used just for myself and then couple other computers in the house that are for other family memebers. Everyone in the house knows the golden rule you dont touch moms computer. I use my computer for business and so i cant run the risk of them messing it up. I keep the keyboard locked every time i leave my computer just incase. I also have norton go back which i love because if there ever was an issue its very easy to revert the hard drive to a safe point and not lose totally everything ive worked so hard to achieve. Nobody in my family dare to touch my laptop because I use it for uni work. We also have a big PC at home so they generally use that instead. However, if I need to use the PC for things such as printing, I always get priority :) That's one of the perks for being in university. [witlessfool]
I have always had my computer to myself, even when I was married. My ex never liked the computer so I never had to fight with him to use it. I am so glad that the computer is all mine, as I wouldn't want anyone putting tsomething on my computer that I didn't ask for, or may cause viruses. If I would get any viruses, then it would be something that I did, and no one else. I like the fact that I can use it at anytime of the day, or night, and don't have to worry about anyone else being on it. There are some things that need privacy. According to me, a computer set is one of them. And the list including cars and motorbikes. The reason is exactly like you just described. The first time we have a computer in our house is for family use of purpose. But when I have my own computer, I put password to my computer so no one else could use it. Sometimes family member ask me if he/she can use my computer, and of course I said yes. But, at that time I already control privacy setting in my computer. At that point, my computer isn't connected to internet yet, so I am not worried about virus. When my computer connected to internet, I happened to face the same problem. I once encountered to heal 780 viruses in my computer because of that ! If you don't want to face such problem in the future, I think you just buy another standard computer for general purpose only. I got my first computer in 1995 when I was 13 year old, and I got the internet in 1998 when I was 16 years old. No one else in the family expressed interest in the computer, except that my step-dad would use it to play Solitare now and then, so it was "my" computer. My husband always had his own computer too, except when he moved here. There was a period of time when we shared my laptop, because he couldn't get his computer into his suitcase. It was hard for the two of us, not used to sharing, used to having our own computer, to share one. I was relieved when my husband got his tax refund this year, and used the money to buy HIS OWN COMPUTER!!! My mother didn't understand why we couldn't share. Well, she and my step-dad like horseback riding, and they like to go together. I asked her if she and Dave ever wanted to share a horse. I have my own laptop. I used to share a computer with my family, but that was before I felt the necessity of having my own computer. I bought my own laptop when I learned about ways to earn online and other stuff. I treat my computer as I treat my cell phone. It's my personal stuff. Maybe you can also share your computer with her but tell her to take care of it since you entrusted it with her. You must install an antivirus in your computer by the way to minimize viruses.. The net is the source of a lot of viruses..You may also advice her to buy her own flash drive and save her files if you dont want it there in your computer.Its always nice to share anything you have with someone [Jhaycee1987]

Hi Icesmile, I share it with my kids. it's one way of training them to take extra care of anybody's things. they need to ask permission before using the computer and turn it off after they use it. they are guided with what kind of sites they're allowed to view. they love playing games and listening music video on youtube. no problem in sharing my computer with the kids. Hi Icesmile, Well what i usually do for people that annoy me once they use my computer is i use some programs to refrain them from accessing whatever you might think they'll be browsing or opening like facebook, myspace, msn, whatever. And by doing this i'll make them believe i'm the only one who it recognizes lol. Of course sometimes it might not work but if it's only your sister then maybe it will hahaha. Hey myLotter fiend! I'm the all in all master of my PC. 3 years ago, it was my idea to have PC in my house when my selfish elder brother opposed me. I somehow gathered money and had one as my own. Now my desktop PC has turned a part and parcel of my everyday life. I work with it, play games on it, listen to music and browse the internet. When I sit before my PC, sometimes I forget to watch the TV programmes which once I was a regular viewer of. I feel very happy to use it freely according to my will. [faridmadeabillion]
I hate it when other people use my computer. I am pretty much working on my lap top exclusively now but I hate when other people touch it, because weather or not they did anything it seems that when ever someone else uses my computer something always goes wrong shortly after they use it. One time someone used it for about 5 minutes and they went to some web site that totally crashed my computer. I am lucky my husband is a systems analyst and was able to fix it, but I had to be without a computer for 3 days which for me is like three years. [ladym33]
Hello Icesmile, Im so sorry your sister messed up your computer. Im the master of my computer. I wouldnt let anyone use it unless I know they'll use it well, wont download anything and respect that its not their computer. My husband has his own computers so he doesnt need mine. We'll share each others computers ONLY if theres something wrong with one of the computers in order to fix the problem. It might be a good idea for you to get an anti-virus AND a firewall so that next time your sister comes over, you can sort of block some of the sites she likes to visit lol. No I am not the the master of the computer, in fact it's not even my computer. I usually use my girlfriends computer so I would have to say that she's the master of the computer but luckily for me she's a sweetheart and shares everything with me. We are currently running two desktop computers and we also have two laptop computers in our house as well. My daughter actually also has a desktop of her own but we can't set it up for her right now because she won't get her room cleaned up. All of that said, my computer belongs to me and I really don't like for someone else to use my computer at all. My mom and I did buy this computer of ours for me and sisters...and we want to have a computer as well since we are out of new technology. We just bought this computer just last year. And it's definitely OK with me...my sisters are really nice because if I do have a free time and came back from work, they will move away just for me to do mylotting.
